Much love for putting this together and sharing your memories! The memories that flow through that building. Like you said the 98 Padres playoff series against the Astros and Braves were bombastic. Section J3 was my favorite to tailgate in. Caterers permit allowed us to arrive at 7am and we tailgated until 9pm (unless Raiders were in town). Gonna miss the Q.
I was there while in Marine Corps boot camp in 2009. And I lived near Aero drive in 2014-2017. I can remember the roaring coming from the stadium. It was amazing
I grew up going to Padres and Chargers games at San Diego Stadium/The Murph/Qualcomm. Yes, I'm old. I remember Ozzie Smith, Dave Winfield, Randy Jones all playing for the Pads. I was at game 4 of the 1998 National League Championship series vs. Chipper Jones and the Braves. I was also at game 4 of the National League playoffs in 1984 when Steve Garvey hit a walk-off homerun. Dan Fouts, Wesley Walker, Kellen Winslow, Junior. Great memories. Super sad to see it go.
I'm San Diego born and bred and have so many memories of this stadium. I've seen the Chargers, Padres, Aztecs, and even a few bowl games. I miss the good old days.
So many memories, i cant even recall them all! Wasn't it such a great time to be around people in San Diego? I miss it Shannon! Hope the new stadium can bring new and different memories. RIP to tailgating.
Nice informative and personable video guys. Sad to see our old stadium go away, but the new AZTEC Stadium and surrounding land will be a major upgrade here in town. All the best and hope to see many of you at future SDSU games.
I'm not a Chargers fan but I went to 3 games here. Chargers vs the Bengals, Rams, and Raiders. This was doing the LA drought when we had no football and SD was the closest place for a NFL game. All 3 games I had a great time, beautiful stadium, beautiful people, and a beautiful city. I didn't know it was being demolished but the SDSU expansion looks cool...😉
2008 when sproles won it for the wild card, moment was epic and my fav game watching at the Q, worst moment was when Nate kaeding missed that game winning field goal vs jets. Had to hear J-E-t-s at the airport was rough.
funny story... i was in the Philippines during that Jets game and had to drive 2 hours to manila to my cousin's condo just to watch it... I WAS DEVASTATED... Who knew 2 years later i would start working for them. haha
Hey Jay, I have some memories of the Q. Although I never saw a sporting event at the site, my memories are of riding my bike from Santee to Mission Bay on the weekends. As I rode past the stadium, I recalled watching the series, the NFL play-offs, SF Giants vs Padres on tv, and lamented that I never got to see any live games. My heart goes out to the SD fans, as I too wish for an NFL franchise to return to this awesome city. I can't wait to see the new Aztec stadium open, it will be an awesome event. Go Aztecs. My respect, Jesus Felan. P.S., thanks for caring enough to share this video with sports fans around the nation, best wishes to you and your team for a job well done.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing the history of the Q. My memory down there was in 2010 when I traveled from LA to see Raiders vs Chargers. Great atmosphere. I hope you get an MLS team and maybe down the road an NFL. San Diego is a nice city to visit. Cheers from LA.

@@Jaycation Yup, that was me. #78 in your program, #1 in your heart! Drafted as a Defensive End in 1983. then played Nose Tackle the remainder of my career with the Bolts. Don Coryell was my Coach back in those days...
I saw the chargers last home victory at the stadium in 2016 vs the titans. I'll always remember being fascinated seeing the stadium from the freeway as a kid growing up
I loved looking at the stadium from the 15 and 805. I still remember being on the 15 as a kid in 94 when the team was welcomed home after winning the AFC Championship in Pittsburgh... ahh the memories.
Oh man, good this is very good news to hear. I live Kansas City and came to a Chargers game here against the Chiefs on Christmas Eve. It was on of my best memories of the stadium and the Chargers. It was my 3rd time to the stadium. I loved the Chargers with LT, Rivers and V Jax. Marty was my favorite coach, not a real fan of Norv though. I hate that the Bolts left, but I’m excited about the SDSU West set-up. Good luck can’t wait to get back to attend a game. I love California so each year I’m always in either Frisco, LA or Diego.
As A former resident of San Diego now residing in LA where the Chargers currently play I've visited this Stadium many occasions. A few Charger games there, Eagles concert there, a few Padres games there. I remember one year shooting a commercial starring legendary QB Joe Nameth there. My fondest memory without a doubt happen on Oct 15th 1995. The eventual Superbowl XXX Champions Dallas Cowboys were in town to face the defending AFC Champions Chargers. the game proved to be just another stop on the way to the SuperBowl as Dallas defeated the Chargers 23-9!
Only God Knows how many Padre Games I have seen at Jack Murphy after 1998 until their final year there(2003). The Padres were so bad then that it was extremely easy to purchase Field Level Seats Behind the Plate. In 2003 was there around the beginning of the season watching the Dodgers in a Weekend Series. I was there both Saturday and Sunday when the Dodgers lost both games and 3 out of the 4 in the Series, along with Sunday going to Extra Innings.
I grew up in San Diego because my dad was stationed there in the navy. As a teenager and young adult I worked at the Murph in vending. I handed out the concessions to the people who sold them in the stands. On game days I would get there way early and watch the players prepare for the game. Sometimes we would shag balls for the punters and kickers and just watch how intense theses guys were while preparing for the games. I was a lucky young man in those days. How many people can say the got to talk to and be around the greatest players in NFL history? Probably the highlight to my time working there was I got to shake hands with probably one of the greatest QB’s of all time, Johnny Unitas. When he retired from the Colts he was brought in to bolster ticket sales and to mentor a very young Dan Fouts. I worked with one of the offensive linemen who blocked for Dan in Oregon. And carried a message to Dan where his lineman was working ( we were building duplex’s in La Jolla. And lo and behold one day Dan showed up on the job site to see his old friend. I shagged punts from Ray Guy and George Blanda. I talked to “Bambi” Lance Alworth and so many other greats, Tobin Rote,Earl Faison, Ernie Ladd Mercury Morris after his days in Miami, Speedy Duncan, Rolf Birnerske and many many more, just too many too mention here. But there will always be the memories of all the games and good times. My one lasting memory will be the last time I attended a game at the “Murph” back in 2013 I took my wife to see her first pro football game. SD vs Oakland and it didn’t disappoint the Chargers trounced the Raiders in a very lopsided win. Ahh the memories....
@@Jaycation Forgot to reply but she used to live in Linda Vista and her back yard over looked Tecolote' Canyon, over Genessee Ave. before it was built through there. The trees grew over the years through the line of site and got harder to see the Works over the years.
Are you a Timbers fans, Landon Donovan is looking to bring an MLS franchise to San Diego, by the way I live in Portland, Oregon currently and you wont believe the number of Chargers and Padres wearing shirts from these teams, people from Mira Mesa, Chula Vista, La Mesa, El Cajon, Escondido and Vista to mention a few
@@FernMcCostigan landon is great! He owns and coaches the SD local a minor league soccer team here. Ive seen the timbers stadium once i stayed across the street from it. I dont know much about MLS. But looks like a grear place to play!
@@Jaycation The ambiance is great just like the Padres had it in the 70's, Providence Park used to be the minor league team for the Padres called the Beavers, later converted into a soccer field, great work and just subscribed to your channel, cheers!
definitely in a cool way! When i was 19 before i worked there i had season tickets and i was on the field level and literally watched fights go down around me.... so fun! haha
Great great video. I grew up in LA and was a Padres fan for awhile. I went to a few Padres games in Jack Murphy Stadium. I also remember going to a professional soccer game--does anybody remember the San Diego Surf? I'm currently a Rams fan and believe the true home of the Chargers is back in SD. Hope you all get them back!
Love this place!!! Use to watch Padres Games when I was station at Camp Pendleton back in 98 thru 02 this place was awesome Sorry to see it go but it looks like its coming back strong!!! Best Memory was watching Mr. Padre Tony Gwen's play there so it was worth the trip down from Pendleton!! also got to see Ricky Henderson play there.
In 1984 my friend and I flew out from NYC to come to LA and also watch the Padres against the Mets and Dwight Gooden. It was a great experience and my one and only time attending an event at Jack Murphy Stadium.
Back in 88-90, I was in Jr. high living next to The Murph. I would walk to the games by myself and sit in the left field seats. Those were the good ol days!
The KGB Skyshow was the best fireworks display ever. Going to the Padres game and watch the antics The San Diego Chicken. Watched the final Padres game there before they moved over to Petco Park.
KGB Skyshows were the best. Especially when they would incorporate Trevor and Tony to kick off the fireworks! Just loved the sd chicken too! We were both at the final padres game at qualcomm, i still have the ticket stub. Ohhh the memories!
Never lived in SD but have lots of great memories there... went to a few Chiefs/Bolts games, saw several Supercross races there (incl. wins by James Stewart & Chad Reed), but probably my favorite memories are from those couple years when Street Scene was there- saw epic sets from Flaming Lips, White Stripes, etc from the front row
I was a volunteer for the Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl games from 2003 until the last Holiday Bowl game 2019. I was all over the Stadium from the locker rooms, the press box, luxury suites, to being on the sidelines during the games. I meet L.T. on the field when his Alma Mater TCU played in the Holiday bowl game. I was also a Charger season ticket holder for 26 years. I shared Padres season tickets for a few year up to the famous fire sale. Watching the Stadium being torn down is a final nail in the coffin. It is appropriate Philip Rivers retired this year. He is the final link to the San Diego Chargers and the Stadium glory years.
I remember going to games when I was stationed in the SD for over 10 years. SDSU and Charger games when they played the Raiders, an awesome tailgating experience. Times of the old but can never take away those memories.
I’ve spent Many a Saturday night at “The Murph”(GO Aztecs) as a Marching Aztec, then as an alumni fan and whenever the Dodgers and Rams were in town, as I was from L.A. The Sky Shows, the Simon and Garfunkel and Beach Boys concerts. A lot of memories.
We used to go watch Padres games every week. $8 for nosebleed seats, a hot dog, and a drink. Great fun for the whole family. We also used to go to every motorcross event, I can still feel the headache from the fumes and sugary drinks!
As a raiders fan it's sad to see it go down, i had great memories there i live in riverside ca. But it wasn't a long ride but loved the rivalry and wish the chargers stayed in san diego that stadium was tooken over by the raider nation lol but great video much respect from the inland empire 👍👍
@@Jaycation lol yes those were the good old days. Plus i knew chargers fans that started rooting for the raiders after the fallout in san diego. But going to miss that stadium alot of memories👍
I remember my very first NFL game at San Diego Stadium, it was the Oakland Raiders against my San Diego Chargers in 1977 before Jay was born. Of course we lost that game but I was hooked from there on in with the Bolts. Unfortunately they broke my heart when they left for LA.
I can see an MLS team sharing that stadium and in fact they need one to make the stadium financially viable. No NFL team will choose a college stadium (even if they expand it ) as their long term home. Wait unless its the chargers who come back with their tail between their legs.
i was born and raised in San Diego. So many Padres games with my family. My ubcles, cousins and friends are all Dodgers fans. UGGH!! Let LA have the Chargers. Go Padres!! woohoo!!!
I miss the Chargers too, it's sad to hear everyone blaming Spanos for moving to LA. But it's business. By the way it was the politicians, I mean criminals in city hall to blame for their leaving, they screwed around for 16 years after NFL told them to up grade or no more Super Bowls . Why should Dean Spanos pay for entire cost of a new stadium, too play 8 maybe 9 games a year? All the money the city could have made with other events.
Nice Peter! I did mention it before i talked about 98 series. I was born that year so i dont have any pictures from the 84 series lol Hope the padres win this year!
@@Jaycation yes sir, was sad seeing footage of the Murph being torn down. Hopefully we stop F**** around and get an MLS, NBA, and NHL team. I know and have gotten in debates about how San Diego will never, but I have faith
that was a great video, jack murphy was bob Murphys brother who was the broadcaster for the Mets back in the day with Lindsey nelson, and ralph Kiner, those were some great memories for me
I went to Padres and Chargers games but the one that will not forget is when Mexico played a friendly against Argentina. The atmosphere was awesome and crazy.
Hi Mikhael! I actually had season tickets when u played for the team. We also met a couple times through the years. Probably at Alumni weekend and times u dropped by the old chargers facility. I used to work the front desk and give georgette her lunch breaks!
Yes Mikhael - I remember you. I was a season ticket holder - grew up with the AFL. I think you were drafted 3 rd round? I hope you had a good career - you had enough talent to get there that is for sure. That was a gift to have. God bless you and thanks for the efforts you gave… with respect…
I’m a Niner fan but it’s sad seeing this stadium go I’ve passed by it many times while going to San Diego it always impressed me sad to see it’s not gonna be there no more glad I got to see it one last time last August
I went to numerous games there at Jack Murphy Stadium (Baseball, Football, H.S. football CIF games for Oceanside) As a lifelong Dodgers & Raiders fan that lives in Oceanside, it is really sad to see the stadium go. I hope that San Diego gets an NFL team back soon.
My dad worked on the stadium in the sixties. I have been there more times than I could ever remember . I’ve seen Chargers there since I was a little boy. It’s sad for me to have our historic stadium destroyed. I sure hope they all make a lot of money.
I'm glad there are at least plans for the site with the possibility open to expanding for an NFL team. But if SDSU wants a smaller stadium for now, why couldn't the upper decks be removed with the lower level retained? Great tribute
I used to work security on the field at Qualcomm that year in 09, used to escort the coaches from the visiting team to the press box back and forth and I was there when Sproles scored the game winning touchdown. My most fondest memory was when I accidentally stood in the middle of the Charger Girls dance routine on the field. Wasn’t my fault, my supervisor had me in a specific spot to see the crowd. Guys in the front row gave me praise like “dude, that was awesome!”
So hard for me to believe this place is gone - I live in Vegas and countless times over the last 30 years I drove down to SD to catch a Padres or Chargers game and even a few Aztecs games when they played the day before a Chargers game. Went to games 3-4-5 of the 1998 NLCS and the place was absolutely bonkers. Chargers belong in SD - after they fail in LA I hope they head back down south.
So worth the DRIVE down! I make drives to Vegas countless times as well. The 98 series was one for the ages. I remember walking out and the stadium shaking with padres fans yelling SWEEP!
I can relate to this that San Diego Stadium is tiring down piece by piece and replace it by building a football stadium. Over a decade ago, when Shea Stadium was no longer there, they built Citi field for the Mets. That allow to torn down Shea Stadium to make room to build a football stadium on the old Shea Stadium site for the NY Jets football team. But unfortunately I think it won't happen. To me, that could be a major mistake if the Jets don't get there own stadium.
Of course, one of the unforgettable moment I've had. Love San Diego... love your postings... definitely ease my pain in missing this town and everything about it. 👍💕
SDSU is my alma Mater as well. I was also a Charger season ticket holder for a few years, but my coolest memory-I forgot the exact date, but I was at the Padres-Diamondbacks game when Curt Schilling was throwing smoke at the Padres. He had a perfect game through 7 1/3 and then some clown broke it up with a drag bunt single. I was also at the LT touchdown record game. I still call it the Murph!
I remember going to a Padres game with my dad in 2003 I think. Diamond Backs vs Padres. Sometime during the game the transformer or something up in the lights blew up. Lights out game over. They had to replay the game another day.

Great Job, Jay! Awesome content can’t wait to see more
Thanks!! GO PADRES! Love it SD Native!
All the best and hope to see many of you at future SDSU games.
onwards and upwards! Thanks for the nice words. GO AZTECS!
I went to a Padres game in 1984 . they played the Pirates..Jack Murphy stadium .. So cool..
Wow back in the WS season! Must have been great energy Dean.
Thanks! Glad you had a fun time down here. Definitely looking forward to the future!
Well done Jay! New Jaycationer here!
2008 when sproles won it for the wild card, moment was epic and my fav game watching at the Q, worst moment was when Nate kaeding missed that game winning field goal vs jets. Had to hear J-E-t-s at the airport was rough.
DUDE! My whole family and friends circle were at that game... you'd think i was playing with how many tickets i had to get for people! lol
funny story... i was in the Philippines during that Jets game and had to drive 2 hours to manila to my cousin's condo just to watch it...
Wow thats crazy!! Would have loved to go to a chargers game there!! Love all the throwback footage!
Thanks Brooklyn! Chargers games were amazing. It got really loud that it felt like a mini earthquake at times. Very fortunate to have worked there!
Loved this type of video keep it up bro!
Much appreciated Raul! Had to give Qualcomm Stadium my final respects.
When I was in the navy I attended a Padres game in 1985. I am sad to see the stadium go.
So sad to see it go Wesley! Thanks for your service.
#10 - Tony Gwynn was gone.
#9 - Phillip Rivers is retired.
#8 - Super Bowl host will not coming back.
#7 - College Bowl will move to SDSU Stadium in 2022.
#6 - San Diego Padres moved to downtown.
#5 - No World Series at SDCCU Stadium.
#4 - Jack Murphy was gone.
#3 - SDCCU will tear down soon.
#2 - Bad Dream
#1- Chargers will stay in Los Angeles for long time.
did you turn to the raider nation after the chargers moved? or always been a raiders fan?
@@Jaycation , LoL.....I wrote the poem about San Diego story. Again, it’s sad that Oakland moved to Las Vegas for economic reason.
@@lawrenceforman6999 all about money these days..
Nice video. Sad to see your old Office brought down. The Murph was my place of employment back in the 80s too! Great memories of my young adulthood🍻
That's awesome! Did u used to play for the bolts? I see a football avatar in your profile. Im going to miss the murph!
World Series 1984. Beating the Cubs to get there. So exciting.
I bet! I love seeing footage from that series.
When I was 15 years old I attended my very first NFL game (in 1986)...Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns with my oldest sister and now ex-husband.
wow the memories! must have been a memorable game!
I went to a Padres Game in Qualcomm back in '97-'98.. memories haha.
haha what if we were at the same game. Trippy
@@Jaycation what does trippy mean?
Never got to go to an event there but remember seeing the fireworks in the 70's from my grandmother's house when it was Jack Murphy Stadium.
That is awesome that you remember that! The KGB Skyshow was a big SD tradition at the Murph for years! Your grandmother must have had great views.
@@Jaycation Forgot to reply but she used to live in Linda Vista and her back yard over looked Tecolote' Canyon, over Genessee Ave. before it was built through there. The trees grew over the years through the line of site and got harder to see the Works over the years.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Leean! Did you go to Qualcomm Stadium alot?
@@Jaycation Unfortunately, Not! I missed all the happenings there.
Hey Jay where did you get that Portland Timbers clip? i used to go to Padres games and love it!
Haha hi Fern! I got it from storyblocks, its a stock footage site i have membership to. I loved padres games at the Q!
Charger vs Raider games were insane. The tailgating was like walking through a prison yard, but cool in a weird way.
definitely in a cool way!
You worked with the Chargers and saw NSYNC at Qualcomm, you seriously lived my dream!!!
Hi Mr Jay! So sad to see stadium go. Part of my life. Watched best tacos. Thanks! Now craving!
It's very sad to see it taken down so slowly.. painful! Hope u found some tacos today! Thanks for watching
Whats happening with the mall in downtown?
they're building a tech campus... goodbye horton plaza. I hear there will be a few shops when done. Should be nice!
White Stripes at Qualcomm must have been amazing. Those Chiefs/bolts games were competitive!
Great video! Gonna miss it but also going to be nice not driving by it every day being reminded of the team that was here.
out of sight out of mind... but so sad!
You're so lucky to have actually worked within.
I have great memories of my Chargers tailgates.
ahh tailgates...i miss it so much!
Saw a Padres game there in the old Wednesday Afternoon 1:05 pm got to miss school.. Loved it.. " The Murph " to me!!
Supercross, Monster Jam, Chargers!
That's awesome! Always loved seeing the dirt ramps at the stadium. Those late night monster truck commercials were awesome too.
Awesome job jay
you the man Adam!
I know
We used to go watch Padres games every week. $8 for nosebleed seats, a hot dog, and a drink. Great fun for the whole family. We also used to go to every motorcross event, I can still feel the headache from the fumes and sugary drinks!
I miss my hometown...Love to all San Diegans!!
As a kid in the 80's they had McDonald's Jr Padres tickets, we would go a few games a year. Also was there for Rosanne's National Anthem debacle.
haha did your ears ever recover from that anthem? I remember as a kid hearing about it on the news. such a hilarious moment.

Weren't you at the holy roller game?
@@Jaycation Unfortunately yes, I was so piss after that game I wanted so bad to go down the locker room and kick the referee's ass.lol
I can see an MLS team sharing that stadium and in fact they need one to make the stadium financially viable. No NFL team will choose a college stadium (even if they expand it ) as their long term home. Wait unless its the chargers who come back with their tail between their legs.
im not banking on an NFL team returning... Definitely MLS! FC San Diego!
i was born and raised in San Diego. So many Padres games with my family. My ubcles, cousins and friends are all Dodgers fans. UGGH!! Let LA have the Chargers. Go Padres!! woohoo!!!
I'm with you Robert! I know how it feels to have Dodger fans as friends and fam... it is fun to poke at them though haha
Grew up in San Diego, attending Padres games as a 7-up Jr. Padre. You forgot to mention the 1984 World Series. Went to many Charger games as well.
Nice Peter! I did mention it before i talked about 98 series. I was born that year so i dont have any pictures from the 84 series lol Hope the padres win this year!
I’ve had a lot of good memories there. Padres and Chargers games.
So many great memories at the murph for both sports! I miss it alot.
@@Jaycation yes sir, was sad seeing footage of the Murph being torn down. Hopefully we stop F**** around and get an MLS, NBA, and NHL team. I know and have gotten in debates about how San Diego will never, but I have faith
that was a great video, jack murphy was bob Murphys brother who was the broadcaster for the Mets back in the day with Lindsey nelson, and ralph Kiner, those were some great memories for me
I wonder what they will do with Jack Murphy's Statue by the trolley... id have to think it stays since its a bit away from the stadium.
I went to Padres and Chargers games but the one that will not forget is when Mexico played a friendly against Argentina. The atmosphere was awesome and crazy.
Oh i BET! I was working there during that time and i heard the energy was REAL! Thats awesome u have that experience.
Played football there with the Chargers from 1998-200
I didn't know where on the site Aztec Stadium was going to be built. But, I see it will be west of the Murph.
its being built closer to friars road and near the lowes on the parking lot E3 area i believe.
@@Jaycation I assume the Trolley stop at The Murph is closed until the demo of The Murph is finished?

I used to live right around the corner from the stadium when I lived in SD. So, 😢😔 many good memories.
Awesome! U must have loved seeing the fireworks shows!
San Diego is a big city,I wish they could get football team in NFL and maybe hockey or basketball.
Ill take a MLS Soccer team at this point! haha i dont like it when people say SD in not a sports city... it totally is! haha
@@Jaycation it's almost1.4million people in city3.0 in suburbs, can easily support more teams.
My dad worked on the stadium in the sixties. I have been there more times than I could ever remember . I’ve seen Chargers there since I was a little boy.
It’s sad for me to have our historic stadium destroyed. I sure hope they all make a lot of money.
It's really sad! So many great memories... especially with kids like us and their fathers!
man it’s sad to see it go down 😏 they should keep it and just put new seats that stadium is the heart of us in SD
That's what i said! But so many people let it rot... so sad. It really was the heart of sports in SD!
Haha these are awesome memories. I guarantee we have crossed paths at some point. I worked with the bolts from 2005-2016
@@Jaycation pretty sure we did cross paths. Those halls to the locker rooms were crowded full of media folk to team executives.
I miss tailgating with my dad cousins and uncles every Sunday watching rivers and gates.
I have to go by the Jack Murphy/Qualcomm site regularly on Friars Rd, as there's a Cemex plant just down the street that I deliver to
I can relate to this that San Diego Stadium is tiring down piece by piece and replace it by building a football stadium.
Watched U2 performed in Jack Murphy Stadium back in '92 ...
I remember that concert as a kid and people around SD buzzing about it! Did you enjoy it?
Of course, one of the unforgettable moment I've had. Love San Diego... love your postings... definitely ease my pain in missing this town and everything about it. 👍💕
didn't Rage Against the Machine open?
SDSU is my alma Mater as well. I was also a Charger season ticket holder for a few years, but my coolest memory-I forgot the exact date, but I was at the Padres-Diamondbacks game when Curt Schilling was throwing smoke at the Padres. He had a perfect game through 7 1/3 and then some clown broke it up with a drag bunt single. I was also at the LT touchdown record game. I still call it the Murph!
I remember when Tony Gwynn got to 3000 hits they had banners of all the members of the 3000 hit club. That was cool.
Hopefully you guys get the Chargers back they not doing so well here in LA.
I wish we could have a team but i doubt it will ever happen unfortunately... but you never know!
I remember going to a Padres game with my dad in 2003 I think. Diamond Backs vs Padres. Sometime during the game the transformer or something up in the lights blew up. Lights out game over. They had to replay the game another day.
