I have the 2020SP, personally I wouldn't rate it as a long distance tourer, but in saying that, I've done a couple of 700km days. Fuel range, windscreen and luggage capability count against it, none of which take away from the bike. It's more at home on back country twisties than highways, and it would be disappointing if it were not.
Fatigue is an interesting thing, an interesting ride (corners, jumps, twisties and crests will see you experience fatigue after the ride due to adrenaline and endorphin levels during the ride. On reasonable highways, even at a casual 120-140, fatigue sets in during the ride due to lack of movement as you hold a steady throttle.
The Hyper is a day bike (or long weekend camping in resorts/hotels) but it's always a compromise as a tourer. That said, it's one of the most fun bikes I have owned.
    Enjoy the ride!

Congratulations on your new Hypermotard 👏
I have used a Hypermotard 939 for over 26000 kms and my experience has been very bad unfortunately. Just to see that your bike remains in top shape, I am just sharing my inputs, may be they might be helpful .....
    1. Do look out for the first oil change which is taken out at 1000 km. If it is very dirty, may be keep it with you.
    2. Slightest of engine starting issues, watch out. There are issues, if not taken care right from the word go, they can be bad at a later date.
    3. Don't compromise or accept any valve adjustments before 30,000 kms, as that's abnormal wear.
    4. Try to get over the mark of 30,000 kms within the warranty period as I suspect, bike will have issues.
    5. More details just, watch few latest Ducati Hypermotard videos on my channel. Here is one .... th-cam.com/video/M-W2Byl92ss/w-d-xo.html
    6. Lastly if don't agree, simply delete this message and enjoy the ride.
    Jai Hind and Ride Safe

Thank you for your comment and insights - Genuinely appreciate your inputs. And I see no reason to delete this comment 🙂. I am not a Ducati exclusive rider…while I love the brand and its products.
I do feel - There’s lots which stays desired even in a Ducati.

Read above list twice but Could you help me understand the specific problems you have/ had. That will help me better . I have a hyperstrada that has done 7k in last three years

@@karthikkumar2515 In North India, dirt is a major issue and Ducati air filtration systems are faulty resulting in very many piston changes, even before the first desmo valve check/adjustments which is prescribed at 30,000 kms. This issue never gets highlighted as many riders across India don't cross a figure of 30,000 kms, even when considering warranty of extended period. Like you did just 7k in 3 years. Plus it also depends, are you really consuming the free nature's fuel, the AIR that much. If don't ride in sports mode, you may not even understand the issue. Watch my next video, may be by this Sunday..

so in terms of top speeds .....how much would touring screen make diff in terms of increased top speed relative to 210....also for how long can you do sustained speed like this....any perspective.....

    • @bigwheelsmotoring3642

With a proper wind visor / screen….riding the Hyper would get substantially comfortable for touring distances.
The top speeds on good roads should go to about 230+ kmph (Guesstimate)…but holding anything above 145-150 kmph constantly on Indian highways is practically not possible…because you will encounter trucks, cars, people, animals crossing or blocking lanes by default.

ok thanks. I just picked up a hyperstrada. and fitted the puig touring screen for it. it feels good although I have not yet gone for a long ride to test out really high speeds. I find the touring seat also dramatically more plush and comfortable than the RVE seat I saw this week.

@@karthikkumar2515 I have ordered the touring seat too…glad to know that you are finding it comfortable…also the Puig windshield visor is on my list.

If you can handle the wind, you'll get about 35 minutes at that speed before you need to stop for fuel 😎
