'Bannockburn and Culloden, the heat and the final' joke =
The Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 was a famous victory of the army of King of Scots Robert the Bruce over the army of King Edward II of England in the First War of Scottish Independence. (If you've seen the film Braveheart, its the bit right at the end)
The Battle of Culloden in 1746, the Jacobite (mostly Scottish) army of Charles Edward Stuart ("Bonnie Prince Charlie") was decisively defeated by a British government force under William, the Duke of Cumberland, on Drummossie Moor near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. It was the last pitched battle fought on British soil.
He is basically saying that the English won in the end/beat the Scots in the last battle we fought, 'the final', so it doesn't matter if we lost earlier ones, even if they were completely different wars. 🙂

He must have know he'd be a prime target for Al Murray's jokes. The bit about the Scots and Bannockburn, refurs to the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. Where their Scots, under their King, Robert the Bruce, beat back the English, winning the battle.
The comment about Culloden, refurs to another major battle between the Scots and the English in 1746, where the English not only won, but later sadly decimated the Scots.
Which led to the comment of Scotland not getting into sports finals.

The 118 India joke was about India taking a lot of "Call Centre" work away from England in this case "The Geordies" from Newcastle who used to do it but wanted too much to get their British Telecom contract renewed so it went to India. I didn't realise that either until later in it.
To be fair, with the name Paddington and the English accent and Peru not being a first choice of where bears come from, wouldn't naturally guess he was from there.
Saddened to think , Paddington recently met Her Majesty and said Thank you. Now, HM has gone

The peru joke wasn't about beers mate it was about Bears, in paticular Paddington Bear, a childrens TV show and book in the 1980s, a bit before your time bro but they have made films over the last 5-10 years.
