  • Changing or cleaning the engine air filter on a Toyota Yaris AKA Vitz AKA Belta 2nd gen (XP90, 2005-2013), AKA Daihatsu Charade (2011-13). Featured is a 2006 Vitz with the 1.3 L engine. The easiest job on the car!
    You will need:
    * Hands and fingers
    * New filter, try Amazon US: amzn.to/2C81GnM | UK: amzn.to/37AsyZk
    * ...Or a vacuum cleaner or compressed air to clean the old one.
    * Clean rag.

    I have same car and it is great. Is it possible to upgrade stock air filter to aftermarket conic ones ? Thank you.

      Anything is possible but I can't imagine anything sillier.

    Wow! This is the exact car I have bought last month. It's my first car and I love it. I actually replaced this filter within the first 2 weeks because it was so easy.
    What milage are you getting on this car? I'm trying to figure out if the milage I am getting is par for the course.

      Haven't done any calculations sorry but it's hard to burn too much gas with a sewing machine driving a CVT in a golf cart :)

      All depends on driving style, and sometimes the weather. I usually get around 30mpg on harsh driving and on normal driving around 40/42mpg (in city driving under 40mph).
      On motorway I get around 45/47mpg.

    Actually if its dirty enough it causes an engine shaking due to engine suffocating.
