The verses do not coincide with the scenes of the film, but many of Steven Wilson's lyrics are about the loss of a loved one, so you could interpret that the song tells you that the memory of that person is leading you to tie yourself to the tracks of a train, what other context would the verb "tie" have in a song about trains? So deep down trains mean a method of escape, in the song to escape from pain, and in the movie to escape from that reality. Well, that's just what I can interpret. (I have used a translator)
