So, i watched your second video and messed around with the kl46z a little bit, this is soooo cool man! Maybe i can make it like a command prompt where you go into the kl46z via gtkterm (in my case) over Rs232 and execute commands on it like a Linux shell.
RS-232 is not a protocol. That standard only defines pins and voltage levels. What you are referring to is the NRZ protocol. It stands for "Non Return to Zero". You can run this same protocol over RS-422/423 or RS-485.

Is there a inversion between the UART levels and 232 levels on idle state ?
