im dominican and puerto rican.. My grandfather used to call on orishas but he told me he was never gifted like his mom. Thats why this position in the old world was so sacred and held so high because in a way you become an eternal servant of the community or who ever needs help, no matter the day, cost, time, color anything. However, it is through this sacrifice of ego and self that you get the eternal blessings so you actually dont ever feel tired because your heart is so pure. The ones who are really in connection will never ask for anything, im not saying this man is fake, im saying the connection wont be 100%.
I understand where you are coming from...even today there are kind of cure, for example, epilepsy, that no genuine Awo would charge anything. But no Awo will use their money to buy materials to solve anyone's problems. Nowadays, there are greedy and even fake Awo, however, some of them even take it as sole profession therefore they charge for their time and service and to be honest, if they don't, how would they care for their family and sustain themselves. Things are changing in our world.

Work is never free babalawo should cast ifa oracle and will know what is too much for whoever is on the mat to spare, diffeent price for everyone and the money goes to ifa work and orisa being as it is not cheap to do this work the connection is 100% there people in Caribbean thankful for y’all keeping the practice alive but don’t try to tell isese who started this practice and sent it over with the ships that they are not doing their practice correct after thousands of years of practice over there and only a few hundred here.

Any African born and raised in the tradition of his forefathers know that a real babalawo does not collect money for his work. He gets tree barks and leaves from the bush, free of charge, and in the same manner gets sand , stones and clay from the earth. Other material can be provided by the patient or their family.

I really feel that this man is gifted. I know so many priests, I have seen many...I could be mistaken, but to me, he stands apart from most. I would like to see more videos about him. Harry Brerwster I quite understand you and you are absolutely right. Isese is not a religion but a Sacred Spirituality. Many of our people in the motherland have not understand the fact that there's difference between religion and Spirituality hence they are still calling it religion. They will realise in due time anyway because the truth can only be assimilate bit by bit for beginners.
The word "Religion" is an English Language meaning "the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods" according to the dictionary.
Are we saying Yorubas don't believe and worship a supernatural controlling power? We should put our emotions aside and face the reality of life. We don't define our religion as Abrahamic Religions do...in Yoruba Language, we say "Esin Abalaye" we believe in the supernatural controlling powers such as our Orishas and Olodumare. We worship, we honor and respect Olodumare. It has been established that Ifa contains every aspect of our lives...it contains Religion etc.
