The Complete Guide To Master Sylenth 1 ( Zen World ) OSCILLATOR Sine - The fundamental sound of a note made of 1 harmonic (a mountain in spectrum ), this is fundmental freq of a note. Saw - Rich Harmonics (many more freq. along fundamental) - KSHMR, Flume etc. Triangle - a subby harmonic, kind of filtered square wave, good for keys, bells. Square - Super Mario. Half Pulse and Quarter Pulse - Thin squarey sound. Trisaw - triangle and saw. PHASE - The starting point of a wave, ( subtle changes ). DETUNE - Detunes the wave or sound by subtle deviations of pitch of harmonics VOICES - more voices, more waves coming from oscillator. RETRIG - When ON, brings the wave back to the starting point that is alloted by PHASE when a note changes. ON - sound in the center and puchy, OFF- wider but not soo powerful sound. INVERSION - inverts the wave. OCTAVE and NOTE FINE - subtle pitch ( not much effect )
The Phase is actually not changing the Sound at all, it is really just about not competing with other sounds in combination for the wrong phase. if you are phasing phase issues in the mix after layering many sounds ,thats when the phase comes into play. the sound is not chnagning because the repeats of the waveform is repeating after the first changed startpoint from the beginning again. there was the mack laren effect into your ear where you hear something that is not there. yes i am smartass, but i learned it and now you know.
just bought sylenth1 so thanks for this series they really help me out and by the way, when I play Go Down in my sets all of my friends go nuts, seriously it's one hell of a track!!
I just found this video by coincidence but it happened to be the best Sylenth1 video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, in a fun and easy to understand method! :)
Thank you very much bro! I'm a beginner in music production and I don't know much about how to use a synth, but I think you explain very well and I learned a lot with your videos!
Amazing videos! i find production so frustrating and cant get the ball rolling but these videos are making a massive difference, much love from Ireland!
Thank you! I am very interested! I have only ever used presets and sometimes just cant find the sound I really need, so I really would like to master this!
This is the first time I find a tutorial that's so well explained ! Maybe because I love those spanish ways to present things "the waves goes poom and poom". Thanks a lot sir, awesome vid !
Thanks brother. We cant get these detailed tutorials anywhere free. Ive learned spire completely after practucing 4 months on that + ur tutorials. Now will nail sylenth 1 😇 thanx
thank you, my man ! I've been producing for more than 5 years now, yet always used those intimiating looking vsts just with presets. You are rly helping with these tuts :)) thanks again, you get a sub from me
This is exactly what I needed! I am really interested in making my own sounds, so this will really help me out! Thanks a lot, Zen World! =) "Saw King" is hillarious xD
Harmonics Explained (my definition) every single composite sound is made out of sine waves. the sine waves that make up sounds are called partials. the partial with the lowest frequency in a given sound is the fundamental. in order for partials to become harmonics (harmonically related) they are usually and almost always have to be multiples or intervals of each other. So if the fundamental is 200 the the next partial will be 400, then 600 then it will get smaller and smaller. Example: 500, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 825, 850 and so on. Also any partials above the fundamental are called overtones. The first partial above the fundamental is the first over tone. The fundamental can't be an overtone since it isn't over anything. there are two types of sounds that don't follow these rules. 1. white noise (because it fills up the whole frequency spectrum cuz noise is everything) 2. bells (because they are clangorous sound).
This is Dope bro! do you do Personal Courses if somebody paid you for it????? LOVE THE VIDEOS BRO! SERUM IS my shit but I love SPIRE & SYlenth1 TOO.! What other videos do you have content on?
I love your videos and I'm just starting to learn how to produce EDM. Would watching this series help if I plan on using Serum instead? I don't have a lot of money and I can probably only afford one plugin, and I plan on getting Serum b/c it seems better for producing dubstep/trap sounds. Please help b/c I want to learn to use digital synths but this mastering Sylenth1 series seems to be the only in depth tutorial on learning a digital synth. Thanks in advance Zen World, love your channel!!!!
i have a question about sylenth 1. Can i delete sounds from soundbanks ? Or can i somehow view the sounds like a mp3 file because i have around 100 banks but i care for only 100-150 sounds in them and it gets very confusing trying to find that one sound that im looking for. can i organize - delete sounds in soundbanks ?
They aren't called wavetables, the list of options are waveFORMS. They are only single cycle waveforms, as oppose to a waveTABLE which is a collection of many different single cycle waveforms which morph between each other (like in xfer serum and native instruments massive). Since this is not a wavetable synth, it doesn't have wavetables, only a list of basic waveforms to choose from.
Lol so I have never seen a vid on your channel before, but immediately after you said Zen world like “Sen world” I knew that you were a native Spanish speaker hahah
Yo bro .. do you know where can I find latest cracked version of Sylenth1 .... I download lots of cracked version of it , but none of it can read presets from outside ... I need latest version
I love how he is teaching with so much enthusiasm as if it is a paid course thanks man this is so good and youre so underrated this is very helpful
This series is what I needed
Glad i could help you out!
Awesome video man!!! U are a bro teacher .... If that makes any sense....

Dude, you really don't understand how helpful you are and how much you probably mean to us starting producers! Can't wait until your channel blows up.
