  • Arctic Cat Alpha Iceage elevate kit install and ride review. The Alpha is out of the box and very fun and nimble ride. The Iceage kit takes it to the next level with their Elevate kit. Improving deep snow performance and maneuverability. Its a great American made product to make your already wicked Alpha backcountry weapon even better!

I’ve been thinking of going to the Iceage kit for my Alpha. Nice informative video.👍

Thanks, it really added a lot of playfulness to my khaos. They will go on my Matryx next season.

Pretty much all 3” tracks trench . The stock cat 3” track does too, but it digs to anything it can find traction on and shoves you forward better than any of the others. IMO the best 3” track out there.?

What air pressure did you set all the shocks to after installing the kit?

I usually take the bottom shock bolt off and relieve stress

That could be helpful depending on which method you are using to the the spindle off. You have to disconnect anyway change the bolt so you may as well.

Do you need to do the same with the rear suspension on a 2018 M8000 Twin rail?? Drill new holes and longer limiter straps??

The twin rail elevate kit comes with new rails and you do drop the skid into the lower holes.

After ride time with the elevate kit, what's the feedback? Totally worth it? Draw backs? Trenching?

I really like the elevate kit. Probably isn't the first thing id buy for a newer Cat, Id start with more power and clutching, but that's just me. If I wanted the most nimble, laser precision back country cat out there than Yes, definitely worth it. No real draw backs. In theory you could experience more trenching because you are dropping the rear skid down which does increase the approach angle a little bit. I didn't appreciate any worse trenching on my sled.

@@mountainsleddergarage8627 good to know, I'm very happy stock power wise, I picked up a elevate kit 2nd hand but already love the way the sled handles, sled hops up on the snow and just goes, easiest sled already by far to maneuver around, so I'm a bit worried if it'll make it trench or what not haha people love the kit and others say it just trenched like crazy 🤷

    Alpha or axys ?
If a guy is buying one used sled for mountains, which one?

It’s really a hard choice, both are very good. I would ride both and see if you feel more comfortable on one than the other. I’d also look at dealer support close to you if you need it. A good local dealer is a huge plus when you need a quick part, repair or info. The cat and axys both have things i like about them and don’t like. Both chassis are easy to ride, I do prefer the twin rail in super technical tree, side hill riding. For all around fun riding the alpha. If your during used, try and get something that has some warranty left.

Thanks, I am actually looking at an 18 hard-core. All the dealers are available here in western montana.
I have a 15 pro iam giving to my boy when I buy a newer one. And I have an 06 bigbored rev. Just looking for one to turbo. Leaning towards cat because everyone rides a polaris around here.
Rode an alpha for a day and thought mono rail works well but is not really nescarry. The polaris to me is great but not as much fun as cat.

I have an 18’ mtn cat. Probably my favorite non turbo sled I ride. It’s for sale in Utah if interested.
