This would have to be one of the most instructive series of films showing the ins and outs of trouble shooting the A-Series (and B-Series for that matter) and other period engines. Well done, I've found these most instructive as I've just bought back by chance a 1967 MGB GT, I owned 36 years ago (older than you my good man).
I've got electronic ignition on my Rover P6 but carry a spare fully made up (points type) distributor in the boot for emergencies.. Thank you for your informative and entertaining videos.. (Phil - Lancashire)
Test light can also be used for setting the ignition timing if you have points and condenser ignition. Not as accurate as a timing light though. Apparently you can use a multimeter to set the dwell angle (point gap).

I have to get me a spark plug tester, wonder if you could fit four of them permanently for Xmas or so 🙃 Wederom groeten uit Holland
Nope!! I'm 53 years old and no matter how many times I watch or hear things about car electrics it just doesn't compute in my head. My brain just isn't made to comprehend and understand it so I stay away from them and allow magicians like you to sort it out for me lol

They are very useful to have! Not sure how long they would last permanently on though!
