They have no excuse now, before it was "harder" to make a game on PC when you are focusing on console. Now... It's pretty easy, real easy. So it's clear it's for one thing... MONEY.
If Rockstar Games was truly looking to maximize money it would release GTA VI on every platform imaginable and with the nature of modern gaming and a large portion of people buying digital only games its even cheaper to release it on PC. It's a lame excuse but I'd imagine a part of the reason they are not initially releasing it on PC is to protect the source code and to reduce piracy. Sure, you can rip a game for a console just as easy but not nearly as easy as it would be if Rockstar just gave out the source code with a PC version.
@@CurtisEffland I said it was a lame excuse and only partially the reason. I never said it was the sole reason or even the actual reason. Hence why I said it's a lame excuse.
Some people argue that they can't optimize the game for 2025 hardware since they're not out yet. Concerning, since some people might want to play it on their **current** PC 😅😅 The game looks amazing but if it doesn't run on current high-end cards like 3080/4080 that means some PC gamers have to wait a year AND upgrade their PC to run the game properly I personally believe they're just double-dipping since you'd think if the game runs on consoles which use ~2018 hardware they'd definitely run on any decent PC built in the 2020s
Ya there's just no excuse for it when you have the resources available to you that Rockstar does. A PS5 is equivalent to around a 2070 super so I'm sure if that thing can run the game then almost any 3000 series and 4000 series can easily run it. They just want you to double dip.
i had gta 5 on console, but then bought it again for pc when it came out. i aint doin that again for gta 6, ima just wait till pc release! part of the reason why was so i didnt get spoiled, cos i know it wouldve been impossible to dodge gta 5 spoilers back in the day, during the wait for PC.
Great video, a few points I didn't hear you make but are important to mention. Not only do PC users have to wait potentially another year or more to play GTA VI but they will also have to actively try and avoid spoilers the entire time which if you use any kind of social media will be almost impossible especially if you are using X (Twitter), Reddit hell even Facebook for that matter. This move doesn't just benefit Take2 / R* from PC users double dipping but it also greatly benefits PlayStation too, You're lucky enough to have a PS5 already but for the PC users who don't, they will go out and purchase the inevitable Exclusive PS5 + GTA VI bundle. So its not just R* who are to blame for this but PlayStation too for gatekeeping this release from PC users so they can profit from PS5 sales. I think the worst part about this all is that R* haven't even acknowledged the PC community, they could of at least mentioned a PC release date, Hell even a release window for that matter but they didn't, It just seems like a massive slap in the face. I guess the only benefit we will get from this is that any problems, bugs or glitches will hopefully be fixed for when its finally released on PC, so I guess in a sense console users are our bug testers? I dunno I'm really try to stay positive on this one haha.
I don't think money is the MAIN reason to why it is being delayed on PC. The way I see it, they want to focus on fully optimizing the game for console to get every drop of performance possible out of the PS5 and Xbox Series X just like how R* did with RDR2 on PS4 and Xbox One. To this day RDR2 remains one of, if not the most visually impressive game on the 8th gen consoles. You also gotta keep in mind that GTA VI aims to be one of the most massive and ambitious game of this generation and making a good PC port takes time. A AAA game that comes to mind that released this year on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC at the same time was Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. It was abysmal. Sure, that game had issues on all platforms, but it was exceptionally bad on PC. Jedi Survivor is still a horrendously and poorly optimized mess of a port even after so many updates. The PC delay will at least give R* extra time to work on the port. Although, you could argue that with the amount resources they have, they could hire more man power to work on the port; however, you could also argue that having TOO many people working on one thing could mess things up just like that one saying "too many cooks in the kitchen". Anyway, it is what it is.
I play far more games than most, as you can see from my channel, and I've played TONS of games that released on everything at the same time and ran great on PC just this year. There truly is no excuse.

@@Froed Ya I've been playing 144 fps for 6 years, and 60 fps for well over a decade. 30 fps is just unbearable for me now. Awesome that you don't have that issue though I'm envious!
They know it's the easiest double-dip dunk of all time ://
As if they aren't one of the richest companies in gaming already 😅 So scummy
It doesn't even make sense that it's not coming to pc, that's literally what they are developing the game on is the pc
I said the same exact thing 🤣
it's never been realeased on pc simultaneously
No shit. Doesn’t mean it’s right
@@GolfWangMedia-incorporated Finally someone who actually understands!
@@CZProductionsrockstar bought fivem and they have the power to release it same day but they want people to double dip. If the economy stays the way it is most people won’t have enough for a PS5 or Xbox.
Meh, I stopped caring about gta after what r* did to gta online. Game is just riddled with pay to win mechanics now, and GTA VI will be the same. I am only interested in playing the story, so I will just buy the game whenever it goes on sale. Plenty of other great games I can play on PC
Double dip is the reason nothing wrong with that lol they're corporation afterall
Funny thing is you’re going to double dip anyway.. And because you will they will continue to do this..
Not necessarily. I'm buying the game used on console which doesn't benefit Rockstar at all since they get none of that money.
You said it yourself..it's about the money...99% of pc players will buy both..it is easier to develop on set hardware and get it out the door..then start optimizing for the many many different pc setups
Because porting to PC takes time, or you want another jedi survivor case?
Then take your time to release all editions at the same time as I say in the video 😂
lol this is what rockstar does they’ve done it this way the for rd2 gta5 gta4 rd gta Sa why are people acting surprised lol
But I get why it’s frustrating but they will milk this game for at least 12 years if not more
Not surprised, just angry and disappointed in how greedy they are.
Hey man I def get it, I played vice city on my first pc ever when I was a teen and I’m 37 now. I was complaining about this exact thing and years ago😂😂 so this is slightly amusing to me.
But they make a great product and I personally am ok with it if it doesn’t pander to the woke mob. Mcu and Star Wars are dead to me now and gta 6 being quality would really mean a lot to me.
@@niksterfer6sir I hope you get your way then. If RDR2 is any indication then I'm sure the game will be great!
It;s actually due piracy, for a game like GTA or Red Dead they'd lose a whole lot of money due to piracy
WRONG. I am very active in the pirating and cracking scene, and it took over a year after release for RDR2 to be cracked after its PC release due to the rockstar DRM.
Denuvo exists brother.
"GTA V was cracked, on PC, a few days before it's official release. The folks in the cracking community have access to the publisher's distribution network. This isn't new or novel." So who do I trust here?
@@justsomedude1138Looks like I was wrong about GTA V, that was cracked a few days after launch because they didn't use denuvo or Rockstar social club validation. It was Red Dead Redemption 2 that took well over a year to be cracked because they added those. Thanks for the information!
2026? that would be lucky lol
The game was created for Consoles to begin with, PC will never be the direct priority. A PC port needs to be created from the console editions.
And you say that as if it's okay and isn't a slap to the face of millions that have supported them 😅
@@CZProductions it’s definitely not okay, but unfortunately when have they ever listened to us? It will likely not change for awhile, if they ever change it sadly.
@@BlindSin Well even if it won't change I'm still going to speak out against it. I'm sure nothing will change but at least my voice will be heard by some
thats the issue with the gaming industry they cater to console goons and their bad spending habits instead of the pc community that ends up carrying their games for years with modding and rp servers
@@MementoMori1000you mean carrying their games by losing Rockstar money and being riddled with hackers?
That's because it takes time to make a really good PC port
So delay the release, why ruin they game for PC users? Rockstar aren't exactly a small indie company, they're more than capable of porting this game.
@@DEN8Y Why would you delay the game when you can release it a year prior in a good playable state on machines guaranteed to run the game well? There's a reason the GTA 5 and RDR2 PC ports where so good: it takes time to optimize a game this huge for such a wide variety of hardware. What the hell o you mean with "ruining their game for PC users"? When you take a year to make a perfect PC version you're doing the exact opposite of ruining your game for PC users.
@@riverblack123 I dunno maybe so the millions of PC users don't have the game spoiled to them over the course of the year or two it takes them to release it?
@@DEN8Y If you don't want the game spoiled, just avoid it until they release it. It's not hard at all. Besides, if a GTA game has all of it's fun ruined by mere story spoilers you know it's not a good GTA game.
@@riverblack123 You make that sound like its easy... do you use social media at all? Back when GTA V came out it was impossible to scroll through Twitter or Facebook without seeing something about the game on there.
You may not be bothered by something being spoiled to you. But I personally don't want to see or even hear about it until I get chance to experience it for myself.
100% spot on. I for one can't give a shit about GTA 6, seeing how Rockstar has evolved and treats its games years after launch.
Vice City will always be special to me, but that Rockstar Games isn't the same
@@mrdubblin3243I don't tolerate comments like that. Work on your manners or don't comment on my content.
Surprised that they haven't decided to release in this order:
Mobile 2025, Switch 2026, PS5 2027, Xbox 2028 and PC 2035, "Cool" edition 2040, "Enhanced" edition 2060
I don’t get why your mad I mean it’s not surprising based on rockstars history with their past releases
Did you watch the video to find out?
I don’t understand how everyone in these comments has NO idea…. It’s because of illegal downloads. You can’t illegally download an Xbox game like you can on PC. everyone’s known this for years. Nothing to do with double dipping.
WRONG. I am very active in the pirating and cracking scene, and it took over a year for RDR2 to be cracked after its PC release due to the rockstar DRM. Funnily enough you are actually the one that has no idea what you're talking about.
@@CZProductionswhere did you go bro I’m waiting for you to try and tell me I’m wrong. Definitely delete this video.
@@AceDeclan What are you talking about I replied to you already?
@@CZProductionsno you didn’t. You made a bad/false comment. It came out on pirate bay almost immediately after PC release. Making my point right about PC release being related to piracy right.
@@AceDeclan I was incorrect about GTA V but that was when DRM wasn't nearly as advanced as it is now and as such I corrected my comment and I talked about it in my newest video. RDR2, which is far more recent and a better indicator, took well over a year. Therefore, it's not because of piracy.
