Yes I have. I have a pair of LyxPro pencil mics which I use in many of these videos. I have a Zingyou USB microphone which isn't to bad and as I recall the Fosman Studio Microphone was pretty good, Here is the link to that review. th-cam.com/video/PwPAzVGWuLw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y6txN0dbE3Pskrpl I have also tested and reviewed several so called video mics ( Neweer CM-15 th-cam.com/video/LF8e-YwoYBs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4MU14F8PL7MbaRIb, Moukey MC-m2 th-cam.com/video/2oZ6QO0adC4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ae0rqzaKxkFhSxl6, Maono AU CM 10 th-cam.com/video/R2Am92wUUoI/w-d-xo.html) which produce reasonable sound quality for the money. I also revisited the Dutty mic here th-cam.com/video/BteLpIySuo8/w-d-xo.html
Most of this microphone model sold is fake. Either it comes without preamp circuit or without circuit with 5 to 12 volt capacitors, plus its capsule is not a capacitive diaphragm, but actually an electret. If you don't get phantoe power it's because it's not a condenser microphone
Thanks for that explanation. I have seen several "different" versions of this on Amazon. I did test this further with it plugged into my Tascam DR-05 and I was quite surprised. Here is the link for that - th-cam.com/video/BteLpIySuo8/w-d-xo.html
Using phantom power was my first thought. My DR60-MkII supplies phantom power but despite several attempts this microphone did not record anything using phantom power on this recorder The Dutty microphone comes with an XLR to 1/8" cable which I also tried with my DR60 MkII into the appropriate port but it did not work. Still nothing. I tried it in my computer, nothing. The ONLY place this worked was with the Tascam DR-05 using the 1/8" connector and that is without phantom power
@@gordonsviewsreviews3360 Just received mine. Pretty sure these mics are "fake condensers". Putting ON the phantom power creates LESS output. So far mine cuts in and out like crazy. One minute lots of gain... the next nothing. Perhaps it is designed to work only with the included cable into the computers mic input - not an in-out box or such.
@@snuffpappy HI Scott. Thanks for sharing your experience with this thing. I have found it work well enough when plugged into my Tascam DR-05 with the 3.5mm plug but I was certainly not impressed with it as an XLR device.
Hi Marc. I did test it with phantom power but it didn't work. I did that in Part Two here th-cam.com/video/BteLpIySuo8/w-d-xo.html I will try it again and if I get a different result, I will either post a new video or comment here.
Have you ever ordered any new $5-100 mic online that you’ve been impressed with?
