Circle are one of my favourite ever bands - Richard Dawson is one of my favourite ever singer-songwriters. I am literally in heaven. Kill me now, immediately. I will go joyfully.
Saw Richard and Circle at Roskilde Festival in 2022 Me and my son (I am from Newcastle, he is half Geordie half Dane) went with Newcastle tops, Richard spotted us, gave us a shout out, and used it as an intro to this song. Cheers for that, meant a lot, and it was a fantastic concert.
The operatic "I've seen...the flowers of another country" flowing into the rest of the vocal mix just makes this feel almost like a new wave tune from the 80's. Love it 💜
I’m absolutely made up to have taken the notion to look up the music video for this - only to find its Stave Davis playing a frame over Geordie folk metal?! 😂 what a treat. I reckon Richard Dawson has been the best one at music for while now, just a proper proper artist - always just fierce stuff - love it a lot
Oh man. I am EXCITED for this album. The opening had me a little apprehensive, but once the chorus hit I would have been singing along if I knew the lyrics. Come to think of it, that's the Richard Dawson special
As a Circle fan I heard the opening and I went: yes. Then we got the Dawson special and I went: yes. Then the chorus hit: Yes. Capital for that one. Yes.
Given that Steve Davis was probably happy to do this for free I imagine it was an extremely cheap video to make, and absolutely captivating. Those 6 mins fly by.
Thanks to Marc Riley for playing this many times. It's an absolutely stunning song. Can't wait for the album. I'd love to know the thinking behind the video concept.
So what was the idea here? To make a video which is as far away from the subject matter of the song as possible?,🤔 Anyway, nice to see Steve "interesting" Davis
Looked this up after adoring the album and this song. This video sucks intentionally. I mean, I get it-ish. World class play happening in a shit location in a shit town where a sense of failure or success is basically rendered meaningless. Sure. But it's really alienating. Disconnect for disconnect's sake. The song may have prog roots and the cover looks like a lost 70's LP (or a City State D&D campaign) but it doesn't sound like Goblin from an Italian horror film, so I'm not sure why it's being filmed this way.
Hello, I’m currently working on a video game and trying to get ahold of someone for copyright and rights to a song. Please contact me as soon as possible would be much appreciated
I am totally astonished by this tràck
I turn on this song, the whole room changes. The mood changes. Everything becomes supernatural, unreal, magical in a way. Really powerful song.
Exactly, couldn’t say it better ! 🙏👍❤️
Yeah, that's exactly what happens. I love this album
Was genuinely like "That guy actually seems pretty good at snooker", and then it turned out to be Steve Davis which made me feel really smart
Don't know anything about snooker, but have heard him on Gilles Peterson's BBC show. He's a dj now --
@@RayasNegroOvejas And he is in the band Utopia Strong. They are great!
Steve Davis is a massive Magma fan.

God damnit I love Richard Dawson
Album of the year in my humble opinion.
The operatic "I've seen...the flowers of another country" flowing into the rest of the vocal mix just makes this feel almost like a new wave tune from the 80's. Love it 💜
Isn't it the flags of another country?
this hook is so magical
The album is absolutely phenomenal. I own nothing else by either artist or was even aware of them but it blew me away.
Both have extremely rewarding discographies and I strongly advise investing your time in checking them out!
Snooker and prog... Together at last , like nuts 'n' gum! Love it though. 💗
How is the video for a song from a concept album about flowers just 6 minutes of snooker? Absolute genius. And that ending!
Aww this is class. We met ‘six times world snooker champ’ Steve Davis last week at his band’s (Utopia Strong) gig in Glasgow. Lovely fella.
What's it like seeing the Utopia Strong live? I've only heard one mix. Tempted to shoot up to glasgow for the next one.

I love this song
This song is diabolic, we can get possesed just after the first audition. Dawson did it again. Masterpiece.
Man I love this song
wow that is fantastic, just heard it on marc riley had to look it up. proper brilliant
Need more videos like this
Steve you have many fingers in many pies! awesome tune
I've just found this song, and I can't stop playing it - I'm obsessed!

Always trust Lard
Late Junction (R3) sent me here: Quite often unearths some great stuff (at least to my ears).
Steve Davies has excellent taste.
Love this, listened to it over 10 times today after hearing it first this morning on Spotify ❤️❤️
Gotta admit at the first minutes I was confused and laughed but now I can't stop listening to the song, it is amazing can't wait for the album
Fancy, having played one shot, and then leaving the black for Steve Davis … Great tune by the way …
So psyched for this. Love Richard Dawson and circle is an added bonus. This is what music is supposed to sound like
Haha, for me it's the other way around! Need to dig into Dawson's music fast....
Help ! I can't stop listening to this song
Steve got lucky, potting that blue at 1:57. If it hadn't have been for that, I reckon Richard would have whitewashed him.
Yet another brilliant track.
Great collab
Two legends One video 💞
Love how Steve Davis has become cool. Who’d have thought it! And Richard Dawson - Georgie legend!
I think I've heard this song 2376 times since its release :) That break at 03:58 ! Can't wait for the full album!
It's called a bridge, not a break.
@@StripeGurger It's a bridge that starts with a break.
Excellent song and video.
¡Qué buena canción!
Amazing song! Can't wait to hear the album
Finally!
hell yeah!
ex-nurse here. Richard, you spooked me out ffs
The light makes him look like the grinch sometimes lol
gorgeous
Brilliant
I love this video. Well done everyone.
🙌🙌🙌
strangly strange but i like it you are a special one
🔥🔥🤯
Fantastic
Wonderful as usual
!!
Watched Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs on KXP who mentioned Richard Dawson and Circle. All roads lead to Dagenham.
so excited for this
For a dead comedian that used to host Family Feud, gotta say Richard Dawson is a pretty good singer
this kicks ass
Genuis 🤩
Fabulous and uplifting. Sounded weird at first but listened again and I was transformed. Absolutely Brilliant!! 😍
Gu on Rich!
Anyone else hear SFA in Dawson's work?
underrated af
damn this is really good
Despite the cinematography appearing a little outdated it is is immediate apparent this is 2021 production by the nature of the break off.
Interesting
'Dawesome' tune. Btw, my highest break is 36 😶
whats better than this
The video is... interesting.
KOVA
gothic Johnathan Higgs... incredible
Also Steve fucking Davis are you kidding me?!?
Playing against Death...like playing against Steve Davis...never going to win..just watch time pot all your balls before you join the ghosts
playing without a chance to win and he knows it
and he couldn't even put the black ball away
for even death is not given easily
De Geluidsarchitect brought me here.
de melon sent me

Amazing song, not sure the video does it justice. It needs another 'ogre' style masterpiece video.

At least Circle can actually play their instruments which is always a plus with any Richard Dawson "music".
