I'm buying the same subs and box, What do you suggest setting the LPF. Normally I always just do 80 with 12s or 15s. I heard smaller subs sounds good higher than 80. What do you suggest.. also what about subsonic filter based off that box rounded up should be 31hz?
There's no magic number for that a box tuned to a certain frequency probably better for rap/electric/home theater and people say tune a box in the 40's is for spl/boomers and low 30's is more sound quality so if going ported I'd say get a pair of 12's and throw them in a slot ported box tuned to 32hz put it on a good clean amp like a RockFord Fosgate you'll hit for all genre's or just go bonkers on a over-powered sealed box setup a good pair of 15's 2-3k watt box or if you got deep pockets rock a pair of JL 13.5" W7
How much of a difference was it with 2-8s vs the 3-8s? I was thinking of doing 3-2508s or 4-1506s but dont know if there would be that much of a difference. Trying to get as loud as possible with what little space i have. Local builder told me he could get 2.9cu internal before sub displacement in my truck so would be close to .5cu per sub if i did 4-2508s but they recommend .75cu per sub. Thats why i was considering 3 or even 4-1506s
@Trevor Moon not to much then huh, you think I would be ok putting 4 subs that call for .75cu per sub and putting the 4 in .5cu per sub? Or better putting 4 1506s in a little more then recommend volume. Thanks alot for the help 🙏
@johnnypiper9387 that was my whole issue. I went from 2 subs ar .75 each to 3 subs at .6 each and instead of 1.5 db, I got .3 db. It has more bandwidth and .ore kick being in a smaller box tho. So I got a little bit louder but sounds a whole lot better. At the cost of more power and more space taken up.
@Trevor Moon oh ok, so if I went with 4-2508s in a little smaller box It may not get that much louder then 2 in the same size box. I jus have to decide to either go 4 8s under sized box or 4 1506s in there more then recommend which guess will all sound similar but show on the meter more then what I can hear lol. Gonna rock with my 2 8s for now and decide what I wanna do thanks man
Would I be able to run two of these meso 8s on a 3500 watt skar amp? Would I run into any issues cus I’m afraid it will be too much power for them. Can someone clarify?
Do you have a high output alternator? Are you running double 0 gauge wire? Are actually pushing 3500? These 8s are 800watts rms so if you have good power supply you're probably pushing more like 25-3000 watts with impedance rise. I would set gain with an oscope and check to make sure the subs arent clipping.
