Stan I think me and you have a different definition of gravel. That’s dirt with some rocks in it. Lol. That’s trailer spreading that dirt is pretty cool.
You work so hard. You have never ever had a bad video. I love them. You should keep a leaf blower to get rid of the soil on the sides. Nix that. It is more fun to get your hands dirty. ☺🙏
Since day one when I started watching your videos, I've learned enough to apply those skills to my own work at home. Then enough where I'm getting jobs helping people around town. I'm currently trying to make a ballast weight for the 3 point hitch on my tractor so I can kinda use it as a packer roller too saying everything works out right.
I sure like the stone retaining wall your neighbor has we keep seeing in the background. I would love to see a video on building one of those or just commenting on his, if they will let you, if it was built correctly. It looks good from your drive. I want to build some similar to that on my property with the big stones and not the railroad ties I have now. Protect your hands from cutting them on the trailer, experience lesson there, Have Sthil get you their electric blower., mine is EGo, love it. They are great at keeping your truck clean and cleaning up at clients. I keep one in my truck. You have the best toys....Was hanging to the end to watch the grading and listen to the music....I will have to wait for part 2.
Part 2 is finally out. That big retaining wall of our neighbors was done on his own. he has experience in landscaping. We did a big one like that a few years back and I filmed it if you want to see how its done. BUT its not the one you seen in this video. Same concept- different locaiton
@@Dirtmonkey I saw it. That is when I learned, well you taught me, not to used the big large and long boulders long ways, that you want to rotate those 90 degrees to the hill for support. similar to the way we use a "though" stone on a dry stack stone wall, like have so many of down here in Tennesee and KY. There are groups that go out on weekends tha make eairs to these old historical walls. Have not made a weekend or trip for one yet but its on my list
Stan here you are demonstrating how awesome that trailer is I can only imagine how that trailer makes fast work of the job. Happy memorial day God bless and as always be safe 👍
Such a fascinating trailer! Definitely have a few projects that would be easier with this trailer at the Church Camp I work at each summer! God Bless Stan! Greatful Memorial day!
Hi Stan! Happy Memorial Day! I hope you had a great holiday! Keep up the great work! I hope you have a great week! It will be a late miserable week for me with missing today!
Really wish I could afford a trailer like that. Have projects that need to get done but no equipment for it other than buckets and shovels lol great video as always!
Verdi is right. I have one it's cheap & works great. Two tips...buy the matt for it too. Extremely slippery allows everything to slide out easily. Also, never let the load get locked around the wheel wells. You'll be shoveling it out.
That's a nice way to deploy or disperse your material Stan! Wondering if you're going to want to get some PVC to mount and hold a broom and your shovels? Maybe even use a compact blower? Be well and abundantly blessed and thanks for sharing
Stan we call that stuff bank run, it will fill areas but it will not compact enough for a top coat gravel road. It isn't sharp enough too many round rocks.
I agree with the first comment. That is not gravel were I live. We have a grey limestone. It’s pretty hard and we blast it out of the pits then crush it and run it thru sizing screens. I use 3/4” crush and it packs in hard and you won’t have to deal with it even under heavy traffic for years. Our limestone can be great for building or a curse if you have to dig a basement were it’s close to the surface. Guess there’s good and bad in everything. Like your content, especially the trade shows and product testing.
As this is your haul road, i might have a small amount of cement to strengthen the sand creating a weak bound base. Roughly 2 bags cement to a trailer.
I stopped the video at 7:12. The bobcat seems to have something wrong with it's track(s) don't know what it is or even if it's normal but something is up making weird noise.
I think it is a good concept. Looks like the rear doors are really hard to open and not one of your loads all of the material came out. Also if you have to keep cleaning out the bed before you suck it back in seems like a lot of maintenance.
My Northern W'sconi place, I drag ancient landscape gravel up & hand tamp the driveway washouts. Wonder if a full width power tamper exists? Pouring gravel on the surface & rolling it in is near to useless.
That’s an awesome trailer , how do u like it vs ur big orange one ? , Ik there both made way definitely and have there ups and downs , Imaybe a one on one compensation or a quick fill in on the new trailer ? , but as always the videos have been great and I still look forward every week for ur uploads , I even tell my wife when I get on yb I’m like oh Stan put a new video up imma watch it , thanks for the good content .
In case you were curious what it looks like when someone tries to drive and pilot a drone at the same time...😄😂 Boy that's a great trailer. I hope it holds up as well as it works.
Stan trailer works great I don’t understand why you back all the way down instead of pulling down looks like plenty of room to turn around hope you had a restful holiday 👍
To clean the trailer at the 13:00 minute mark why not use a leaf blower? Even a handheld blower like the Stihl BG86? It might have been quicker and would have got all the little dirt out of the cracks. I use my leaf blowers for everything.
@@Dirtmonkey Rely on your leaf blower for more than leaves. I have the Sthil bg 86 and the 800 side start and I use them for more than leaves. When I am cleaning out a house, gutting the house, snow, truck bed etc. you are just blowing fast air and it is cleaning it up without touching it. Make your leaf blower your baby. lol
Instead of the shovel, a battery powered blower and a broom do quick work. I just broom it all about 2 feet away from the side I want to blow from, then broom anything left over that the blower doesn't get.
@@Dirtmonkey you could put it on a telescoping handle that way you can adjust the height to needed height. It would also be good to unload pallets that way you know when to pull forward
I know you have 30 years plus as a contractor but, adding any kind of sand dirt to gravel you will be doing this every year, you need to get a couple of axle's of -4 gravel....then top coat it with 2b gravel you will never have to touch it for the rest of your life...the method that you're doing the first Heavy Rain you'll have all ruts...the way I suggested if you grade it you will have nothing you will maybe have a puddle or 2 of just water....I've done this on my own property......
Finally broke down and bought the power wheel barrow, hopefully in another 3 years I can afford a dump trailer, ex wife demolished my credit and the business
Try a pickup bed unloader. I got mine from Northern Tool years ago. Works great. Get the Matt and don't lock the load around the wheel wells. Stan did a video on one a couple years ago.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
@@brandonlorenzo34 I’m old and still call it dirt. Haha
Yup real good building dirt.lol

that's some nice gravel we had a gravel pit but we had to screen ours to get the bigger rocks out of it to use but made great road dirt and driveway
This is bank run gravel- works ok but its not the best for compacting

Thanks for tuning in👊
Really wish I could afford a trailer like that. Have projects that need to get done but no equipment for it other than buckets and shovels lol great video as always!

Check out those pickup truck bed unloaders! They’re not this but they are cheap and useful for small loads.

Hi Stanley another good video, question why not put concrete or asphalt wouldn’t it be cheaper in the long run?
The gravel is free from my farm. so this is the cheapest option
