    Love that first fabric! And the "beachy" fabric, The aqua jersy with diamonds, red with navy spots, The burgundy with birds, The teal is so yummy! That gray. Looks like chambray. It's a great staple fabric!

    Hi, I went to Walthamstow market and Goldhawk Road after a Vlog by Claire at BTHQ. Definitely recommend a visit. I took home 23kgs of fabrics. Had a wonderful weekend in London. Also after Claire's Vlog travelled to The Netherlands to visit the Utrect Fabric market. I love buying fabric.

    What beautiful fabrics you got don’t feel guilty or overwhelmed I been know on a good sale to bring home 10 to 12 fabrics. What I do is I now which ones I want to use first then over the next few days looking at the fabrics I start seeing what they would look nice as. When you were showing the double border material I thought it would look nice as a skirt and take so,e of the border and put it on as the sleeves to a white blouse with some of that material also as a pocket. You could maybe wear that blouse with a solid color pants or skirt. I like to mix and match and with the fabrics you got that could be so fun to do. All through fabrics are beautiful. Btw the red fabric with the hearts would be adorable in a full skirt and it you had extra fabric put a ruffer on the bottom. Enjoy your haul you did gooooood.

    You could cut the borders off and sew a band between the skirt body and the border, allowing you to flip the top border so it's the right way up.

    I'd love to. Shop in this type of place. Fabric everywhere!😁 You bought some lovely fabric. I love your swapped fabric too. I love the border print. You could use that border as a hemline on a blouse too or sleeve. Many choices. Looking forward to see how you use it

    So jealous. I took home a lot of bags from the Knitting and Stitching Show but haven't managed either Walthamstow or Gokdhawk Road yet.
    Navy is always fairly dark and cool. Your blue is closer to royal blue. So many great fabrics. Love the birdy viscose, the cupro and that gorgeous red broderie. I think the broderie would work well in a more structured design. Really looking forward to seeing your makes from these.

    Nice fabric haul. You all in UK have very inexpensive fabrics while we in the US have the cheap priced patterns.

      Hi Bev, I think I've settled on it being 'French Navy!' (mother knows best and that's what she suggests!)

    Ooh some lovely fabrics! I am really looking forward to seeing what you make. I love the idea of the colour block Zadie! 😁😁👍 Check out Witney’s post (TomKat Stitchery) who has made the Adrianna skirt out of eyelet fabric.

      Thanks Lynne, I love Whitney's eyelet Adrianna! It might be the pattern I choose!! Thank you for pointing me in the direction :)

    The aqua-blue print would be gorgeous in a wrap dress

  • @ThatRomyKate
    @ThatRomyKate 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The blue paint stripes one would make an amazing jumpsuit, that was my first thought! And using a plain for half the wrap would look cool. I think the bright navy would probably be royal blue but I’m a bit rubbish with colour names. Looks like you had a great time, hopefully I can make a visit to Walthamstow soon as I’m moving to London 😁

    • @TheSpeckySeamstress
      @TheSpeckySeamstress  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes, definitely make a visit! I'm not sure it's bright enough for royal blue :/. Eh, it's pretty that's what matters! Ok jumpsuit vote noted!

    The blue fabric with white & red hearts I'd call marine blue, half way between navy and cobalt blue?
    When I saw the eyelet fabric I thought of a cropped top, like maybe McCall's 7629. To show off the hearts I think it would be good make them eye level. Just a thought.
    I get it about being attracted to one type of fabric but never buying it. I'm that way with cosmos fabrics - the snake skins, the faux leather and metallic looking fabrics, etc.

    • @TheSpeckySeamstress
      @TheSpeckySeamstress  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oooh halfway between navy and royal blue is exactly what this is. I'd never heard of marine blue (airforce blue, but that's a bit greyer). Oh it would be cute as a top, I don't know why I had thought immediately of a skirt for the eyelet!

  • @roseyposey78
    @roseyposey78 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oh.my.goodneeeeeesssss!!! gasp! All those fabrics are GORGEOUS!! I love the maroon and blue polka dot and the red broderie anglais best. I’d make a pencil skirt from the broderie anglais and maybe an emery dress or something similar with the Maroon & blue. I love your idea of adding a plain fabric in with the brush stroke linen blend for the Sadie jumpsuit. I think that would look great! And would be very “a’la Juliet’s jumpsuit off the sewing bee“ I neeeeeed to get me to Walthamstow!!!
    Oh by the way...is bright navy possibly royal blue?

    • @TheSpeckySeamstress
      @TheSpeckySeamstress  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! The maroon and blue is so pretty isn't it. Ooh hadn't considered a pencil skirt, but I don't wear that style often :/. Mmm making me think now! Oh yes walthamstow was a lot of fun!

    • @TheSpeckySeamstress
      @TheSpeckySeamstress  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And it's definitely not bright enough for royal blue?

    Great video. Nice fabric/plans. Stop denigrating yourself. Your info is good. You've got a good complication, nice looks and great blue eyes. No, I'm not creepy, you just remind me of my daughters.

    Hello 👋🏼 My name is Jay and I'm a Walthamstow Enabler, I'm also a Wongling Enabler and you know what that means now 😂 Winslow culottes for the first two fabric you showed (the ones from Claire). My suggestion for the Cupro is to make a faux jumpsuit with maybe a Stevie top and Winslows so that you can wear them separately for work or together to look fancy. I agree with you, if you make a posh dress out of that you'd never wear it, sadly we don't live in Downton Abbey although that would give us some wondrous dressing up opportunities!! Better to enjoy your nice fabric every day, you're always saying you need more smart work clothes.

    • @TheSpeckySeamstress
      @TheSpeckySeamstress  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your enabling Jay! I'm not sure about faux jumpsuits, love them on others but don't like the blousing at the waist :/

    Have you thought of using the teal plain fabric ( I think it was the cupro) for a Megan Nielsen Dove blouse? It’s a lovely pattern and looks lovely over jeans etc. I think you need to branch out patternwise!!
