This was a super good review and my favorite part was the installation as sometimes that can be a real problem especially for mechanically challenged folks. I will now buy one as your video showed me all I needed to know.

Nice video. I installed a cord real like yours beside a garage door opener in my shop and it’s so convenient to pull power down and not have to drag an extension cord out and put it away when I’m done. Completely agree, it’s a hassle reduction.

Glad it works well with vac AND mitre saw. I have a 25 footer from Harbor Freight. It handles the shop vac fine and it’s nice moving around my garage shop and driveway for vehicles. However, if I plug in my mitre or table saw, it’ll trip the breaker. I just use one of my wall outlets for the saws and all is well. I should’ve bought a beefier reel. Yours looks like a good solution.

Thanks for the comment. I was concerned about that very problem. Sorry you’re Harbor Freight isn’t getting the job done. I have mostly had success with their products.

Great review. Any tips for making a mount in my garage and backyard so I can move it between the two? I can only be in one place at a time, unfortunately.

I just went out and looked at mine. The bracket that attaches to the winding mechanism has two keyholes. I think you could mount a 2”x4” or 2”x6” to the outside wall. Then put two lag bolts into that for the bracket keyholes. You may need washers on the lag bolts. If you try this, let us know how it works out so others may benefit.

Good video question does any manufacturer make a retractable extension cord reel that you supply the cord? I have a 75 extension cord that I want to put into a retractable cord reel

Not that I know of. Good question though! Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the great video! I installed mine before watching yours. I made pilot holes on the 2x6 but didn’t make pilot holes on the actual stud. I noticed you did the same. Assuming this is fine?

If it’s solidly attached, it should be fine. I haven’t had any issues.
