    That big field is Portholme Meadow I believe it is probably the largest ancient water meadow in the United Kingdom. It has a charter of Common Rights from King John back in 1212 (you can let your livestock feed there and stuff) and is protected and is also an area of conservation. It's great for walking your dog.

    Hi Jo & Micheal, that was interesting info about the camera, yes I’ve been trying how to figure to get more space, and I do like time lapse myself. Now I know what to do to give me more. Thx. Nice scenery also. 💜💜🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

    Any boat on the EA's Anglian waterways is allowed to use a sea toilet. Some have macerators, but that is not required! Ugh.

    Now I'm trying to get the image of a narrowboat filled with Weta Digital's server farm out of my head.

    When we hired one of Bridge Boatyards "Sunquests", it had 2 toilets, both flushed straight into the rivers. I was very surprised because boats on the Broads have been required bt law to have sealed pumpout toilets since the mid 70s. Very few small boats, like small yachys and weekenders can have open flush toilets, but only if it`s not feasable for a holding tank to be fitted. Usually because the boats are too small.

      @MinimalList  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I had know that I may not have been so keen to swing in the river

  • @navigator902
    @navigator902 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Holding tanks are required on all inland waterways ... pumping out at sea is possible, not condoned ....But, I'd say No Mam, to the sail boat rumor, know boat due to rig, is exempt.

    In which Michael attempts once again to rejigger the geography of England. 😆 The guys from "Map Men" are going to have to do a special video about you.

    Yes the great Ouse is the only river where they allow sea toilets on boats

      @@philipwinter8729 yes it is,but hey the government let sewage treatment works empty into rivers all over the uk so the great Ouse isn’t alone in that aspect

    • @philipwinter8729
      @philipwinter8729 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shanehumberstone5262 True. I live downstream from what is apparently the 1st English river to win bathing water designation - River Wharfe. However the extent of untreated sewage discharges means that bacteria levels are regularly measured above acceptable levels. We are told that remedial works are too expensive - though works are supposed to be happening at some point in the future.
      I'd like to see improvements happening, even if they are only minor. However I suppose those with the relevant boats would shout foul. So give them a period of notice?

      @@philipwinter8729 my boat has a sea toilet and it’s on the great Ouse but to be honest I only use it for number ones I go ashore for number twos and I’m going to look into have a holding tank fitted or perhaps do away with a fixed toilet altogether and have a cassette toilet instead

    Can't make my mind up if your t-shirt has strange printing, it is causing distortion on my screen or if it's fogged up cameras?
