It once took me FOUR EFFING HOURS to get a levelling party with me as WHM75/SMN37 and a RDM/BLM in Aht Urghan Whitegate not long after level sync was introduced. Luckily once it filled we managed to nab the hill in Caedarva Mire and chainpull Imps for something like 6 or 7 hours. Good times.

Something they really need to do is lower the swords for Shadowlord's sweep combo. I have my camera zoomed all the way out and it can be hard to tell where the gaps are on the clones if you're not already at them.
It’s a zone! I have been hanging out there the past few days and there are other players around, so it’s not like Eden. Maybe they'll combine Zilart and Chains for part 2? Since we already got the Ark Angels I don't know if there's enough in just Zilart for a whole alliance raid. And this would let them do Treasures and Wings for part 3, which makes sense if the Walk of Echoes is meant to be involved.

I'm not sure what the reason was for each FFXI server having a different zone for bazaars. On Quetzalcoatl we used Battalia Downs. I don't think I ever saw anyone using the other zones.
That teleport is not using in CoP. There is one in CoP that looks similar but not quite. That one is the voidwalk one and it's tied to the Walk of Echoes and the XI multiverse. As a non-FFXI player I really appreciate the explanations and history. Seems like CS3 packed this crossover with a ton of references, and it's really cool getting to know their meaning.
Hey Mr Happy, this was really fun to watch your reaction to this raid. I have a request. I know a lot of players don't really know any references the raid showed us. I've had a lot of people who didn't blink at all seeing Aquarius or Despot. They thought of them as random adds. They are very much "If you played the game, you'll know." references. By chance can you do a side by side video of everything this raid showed us? Like can you show us Dynamis Jueno showing the goblins? Can you show Boyuoda Tree, Aquarius, and Fafnir? A walk through Sky and maybe find Despot? What do they mean when trying to get some pants from Byakko? Dunno how easy is it is to visit the Ark Angels, but you get my point. I think that would be a really fun video for everyone to see. I know you put a lot of 11 videos out already explaining so much, but I think a side by side video would make it a lot more clearer as why we had a bunch of trash packs, or why we fought 5 bosses, and why are there bugs hanging around the dragon. If not, totally okay! Thanks for reading, and sharing your experience. 🐸
I feel like it being a fake creation kind of cheapens the awe. "It's all fake" I let out a sigh after learning that. I don't like being negative, but I wish we were actually really there.
I went from thinking he was some mastermind who had a grand plan for later (even thinking he maybe had Ascian connections), to thinking he was just a pompous fool who died, to now seeing that he survived and set up something super dangerous. It’s interesting.
I appreciate that quite a few of the references they used are things that are shared between the games, which means pure Final Fantasy XIV players aren't entirely locked out of the loop for the references. They just go "Oh, FFXI had that too? Neat!" in reaction instead of whatever reaction an XI player would give.
So, now Sareel Ja talks that he went through the gate, does that mean that Vana'diel is on the same shard as where Alexandria is? And why did he not passed Living Memory. You should certainly have mentioned if you passed a place like that, right?
The way he talks about it, it seems like he only made it to the space between shards-the Interdimensional Rift, in other words, also known as the place where you have the Chrysalis, various Ascian meetups, that one Seat of Sacrifice QTE, the place with the crystals/bubbles you travel through to get to the First/Elpis/etc etc... The Interdimensional Rift is also, of course, the big plot device in FF5. It's also the big plot device in Dissidia, because they decided that it actually connects _all_ Final Fantasy worlds. It seems that it's now also the Walk of Echoes - or, rather, the Walk of Echoes is some part of the Rift. (Which shouldn't be too surprising, really, given how it's between all the Vana'diels...) So you've got Sareel Ja ending up in the Rift, seeing visions of Vana'diel waaaay off beyond Etheirys and its shards, and deciding to make a low-budget copy of it to power up Gulool Ja Ja's shade and definitely not get backstabbed again.
@@atelierbagur3831 Note that he didn't even actually visit it, though, he only visited the Walk of Echoes and looked through a bunch of the memories there. (Hence why he's recreating things that are explicitly long dead, like this being the _third_ appearance of the Shadow Lord.) But yeah, it's pretty clear that he was looking at actual factual "literally the pictures in the manual" Vana'diel and not some sort of Alexandria/Allag/Garlemald-esque "this is the FFXIV version of that other game's setting".
The further Final Fantasy goes as a series, the more they like to abuse the interdimensional rift as an idea. It basically allows every FF to interact with every other FF whenever they want a crossover. XD
Mildly disapponted that its electrope constructs vs travelling to another shard. Feels like they took the Omega contest of strength and did a lighter version, the artificial constructs will exist in a bubble and have no impact on the world. At least Onega hand waved the power of the characters we fought since he was so incredibly strong, mamool ja Jafar 'shouldnt' be able to summon things as strong as the shadow lord, or next patch promathia. Its like saying electrope can just manifest beings as strong as zodiark.
I said it first the elvan in the armor is the main player of ff11 or is you in ff11 if you play it, i hope they also include the maiden of rhapsody Quest lady who is stock in Eorzia in this collab
Collaboration stories are considered non-canon. FF11, FF13, FF15, FF16, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, etc are all written without intent to make them canon.
The music, the sights, and the mobs made it very tough for me to pay attention on my first run! There is a lot going on compared to previous raids but it was a fun set of fights! When I saw the Spike Flail and the Darters spawn, I lost it and couldn't heal. The AA's were awesome and Shadow Lord fun as well. I love it and can't wait for the next 2 rounds!
One bit I was sad wasn't included with the Fafnir fight was some mechanic where you stack on his Right foot, which was where you had to stand when fighting him to avoid all his massive attacks.
I feel like we're definitely seeing Eald'barke and Karmel'nut next raid. And most likely Seltheus too. Also, I didn't think about that stuff with EW raids falling off at the end, cause it didn't feel that way for me. BUT, talking about it now, i can kinda see. Especially for the last raid cause we didn't get a chance to hang with Thaliak and Lymlaen like we did with the others. And for me, I i got hyped meeting Azemya in Agalea cause at the time, My char was a female Mi'qote Dancer main (who i made after Lilisette cause I love her to death) and seeing your Patron deity basically be the same as you was very hype XD. Plus the music was banging. Maybe they could have postponed them returning to the star, and had something similar to Niers raid where you have the weekly quest after. And each week focused on one of the 12. But the alot of narrative would have to have change, maybe not had the same impact. I dunno
Fun Fact, it wasn't an Orc WMD that broke Tavnazia off of the mainland. The whole thing was actually a San d'Orian plot to protect themselves. They had a knight get captured with information about a "secret weapon" that could bring entire armies to yield, and it was being held in Tavnazia. This was a lie. There was no weapon. Tavnazia was betrayed by San d'Oria who broke off the mainland with Lightbringer, a Legendary Sword that was nigh impossible to yield. The plan was to crush the beastmen in one fell swoop, but Lightbringer could not be controlled and severed Tavnazia from the mainland, sealing Tavnazia's doom. The result was the same in the end. San d'Oria was spared, and the beastmen were "dealt with". It's San d'Oria's biggest secret, and the second most influencing event in (baseline)FFXI. Yes, the genocide of a nation is the second biggest secret. FFXI is one hell of a time.

(Which shouldn't be too surprising, really, given how it's between all the Vana'diels...)
So you've got Sareel Ja ending up in the Rift, seeing visions of Vana'diel waaaay off beyond Etheirys and its shards, and deciding to make a low-budget copy of it to power up Gulool Ja Ja's shade and definitely not get backstabbed again.
No I believe this time, the Vana'diel Sareel Ja visited is the actual real Vana'diel from FFXI.
@@atelierbagur3831 Note that he didn't even actually visit it, though, he only visited the Walk of Echoes and looked through a bunch of the memories there. (Hence why he's recreating things that are explicitly long dead, like this being the _third_ appearance of the Shadow Lord.)
But yeah, it's pretty clear that he was looking at actual factual "literally the pictures in the manual" Vana'diel and not some sort of Alexandria/Allag/Garlemald-esque "this is the FFXIV version of that other game's setting".
@@Gemini476 Could be that one of the remaining shards (the Eleventh, perhaps, since that one's still extant and unexplored) is our Vana'diel
I feel like disappointment is like a staple of dawntrail.
59:59 bruh I imploded a linkshell as a kid bc I didn’t get my bis in Sky lmao
I said it first the elvan in the armor is the main player of ff11 or is you in ff11 if you play it, i hope they also include the maiden of rhapsody Quest lady who is stock in Eorzia in this collab
Seriously. SHES BEEN HERE THE WHOLE TIME
@NeroLucifarious yes I hope the dev don't forget about the collaboration story
Collaboration stories are considered non-canon. FF11, FF13, FF15, FF16, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, etc are all written without intent to make them canon.
The music, the sights, and the mobs made it very tough for me to pay attention on my first run! There is a lot going on compared to previous raids but it was a fun set of fights! When I saw the Spike Flail and the Darters spawn, I lost it and couldn't heal. The AA's were awesome and Shadow Lord fun as well. I love it and can't wait for the next 2 rounds!
01:41:58 "damn that's messed up. he's a box" why did that kill me lol
the npc shade that's looking for a party would do well in wajoam woodlands or caedarva mire birds/imps lol
Even though i never played 11 i have always enjoyed your lore and story breakdowns on the game.
Absolutely crazy seeing someone do this with west-coast ping lmao. Really fun raid though
One bit I was sad wasn't included with the Fafnir fight was some mechanic where you stack on his Right foot, which was where you had to stand when fighting him to avoid all his massive attacks.
1:29:00 My wife and I pronounce it "Sorrow-mow-goo Champaign."
I dunno
Are u on gilgamesh?? What fc is this..
Now I know why so many people died to the first mobs in my run.
I'm still waiting for the recollection theme. I think most FF11 veterans were looking for it too.
We meet again on yet another video, Koizumi... :T
Shadow Lord has made it to Eorzea to finish the job
Everyones going to be Guichi till we get a Maat fight.
Boyhada Tree, therefore no music
this looked amazing
hearing the music again
fucking loved it
take it back shadow lords voice wasnt deep enough for me thats the or flaw w the raid
I love Bakools lines in this lol. A FOREST HUH
My group fought priche so long that we got two lb3 charges B4 she went down😢 We barely were holding on....
My group wiped to each boss once before we fought through ‘em. Felt satisfying; I like an alliance raid that will kick my ass.
I’m glad that Bakool Ja Ja finally made amends for the most terrible thing he ever did.
ELECTROPE HAS MANY USES, WATCH AND LEARN
i wonder what happens if you start off with a million XD i laughed so hard that it was an option
Crossover raid series with another IP with the armor being all black?
Welcome back Neir raids
Ngl, I'm beyond amused that you lost your sheet music roll with a 98 (and a 90. Your rolls were cracked), and yet I WON mine with an 85.
