    *BEAUTIFUL NATURALISTIC SETUP!* So important in so many ways for our reptiles and is point-blank, so aesthetically pleasing. Watching reptiles eat is definitely worthwhile content!

    Do a "how to build trust" style video with her. Here's the secret, do it in spring and have an ample supply of dandelion flowers available. My WC male red geyri is so skittish, but once he realizes there are dandelions for him, he is suddenly much more willing to come out. This also works with the flowers of mustard greens. I got him walking up to my hand within 2 weeks. Of course this effect disappears quickly when the flowers run out. So the winter may be difficult lol.

    Am gonna get on at the expo next month any tips

    • @JPsPetNation
      @JPsPetNation 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Expos are alot of fin but yo yare best to go with a plan .. before you go think what animals you are wanting and what set ups and room do you have ready for them .. it is so easy to go there and just go nuts and get everything you want. But the truth is if you go with a plan you enjoy your self more..
      Only get what you really want and make sure you set a budget. Have fun

    i wouldnt mind watching time lapse videos of what each of your lizards do all day? maybe sped up of course. i can leave it on while i work/study so its like i have a pet of my own (kinda) lol

  • @Rockdog333

    Can I use just an LED and a deep heat projector ? Why would I need two heat sources ? Thanks

    • @JessicasAnimalFriends
      @JessicasAnimalFriends  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can achieve the high temps they need with one heat source yes BUT you also will need to offer UVB, so I use a halogen for basking, a DHP for increased ambient temps, and a linear UVB bulb for UVB

    • @Rockdog333
      @Rockdog333 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JessicasAnimalFriends ok, I was looking at the arcadia deep heat projector kit , seems that might be the best fit for the uromastyx I'll be getting in a few months. I'd rather overkill and tone it down than not have enough heat/uvb

    How often do you clean the enclosure

    • @JessicasAnimalFriends
      @JessicasAnimalFriends  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I spot clean poops whenever she has them and recently made the substrate bio active so I’m still gaining experience with cleanliness in an arid bioactive

    How many gallons?

    • @JessicasAnimalFriends
      @JessicasAnimalFriends  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a 48x24x24 (inches) and I believe that is 120 gallon equivalent

  • @michaelzelaya873

    Is this substrate okay for bearded dragons too

  • @brentprobizanski7029
    @brentprobizanski7029 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just ordered 2 a MALE and FEMALE from reptile underground, it will be first time for this species of lizards..
    I have had many different types of lizards over the last 35+ year's , from monkey tailed skinks to a front pocket sized Nile monitor that sadly passed away at age 8 and was just shy of 6', 5.3lbs..
    So my question is with the foam dosen't the claws penetrate the grout into the foam and then send that shit everywhere??
    Don't get me wrong the idea is brilliant but what have you noticed?
