The difference between the import version and Japanese version is night and day. The issues you mentioned are non existent on the JBM100 the frets are super smooth and the trem is a lo-pro edge which is my favourite trem system. I own 2 JBM100 models these are fantastic guitars. But I see a lot of issues with the import versions
