The title of the movie is correct but the title of the "knox hill have posted a new video" says "jinjer ghost love score". On another note, how about "Gojira - Wolf down the earth" Stay amazing
The Wacken 2013 show was better over all than Buenos Aires 2012, but this 2012 rendition of GLS was better than 2013 imo. Floor held the final note with more poise and stronger delivery here than in 2013. Sadly no performance since then has been as good though.
Hello Knox Hill ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Buenos Aires in December 2012, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of a wild Argentinian audience. At that moment, Floor was in the band for just about 2 and a half months, joining them in the middle of a world tour as an emergency replacement, when their previous singer became ill and couldn't perform anymore. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I just posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community 🤘
Mad respect for your interpretation of the lyrics. I have lost track of how many reactions I have watched over the past couple years. You were the very first, perhaps only one, that dove into the lyrics. Well done!
Same thought here, I'd love to see a cycle of Ghost Love Score + Romanticide, then Poet and the Pendulum + Bye Bye Beautiful, I tend to think of those 4 as a story arc, and I'm sure I'm missing a whole lot of the subtleties.
Tomas is the ocean soul, the child. This imaginary is very present in his lyrics of the first 4 albums of Nightwish. Religion is a current theme in that albums too. The best interpretation of the lyrics in TH-cam reactions
That childhood Innocence analogy was spot on. The keyboard player Tuomas composes the vast majority of the music and lyrics and the loss of childhood innocence is a recurring theme in their songs. He once said that he had a wonderful childhood, growing up in the woods with nature, quite protected from the world, and when he grew up and saw how devastating the world could be he wished he could go back to childhood. He has struggled with depression and finds this world quite difficult to bear at times :( He is a tortured poet x
a little better now, but yea, I think he could be full on empath, or close to it, so I imagine it does still get really tough on him. Sure wish I had known them sooner, despite the drama, cause I love the band and love him to pieces
Hello Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. And they make Symphonic Metal. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. I happily refer you to Gabriel Bardac's comment (he'll be here soon) for a list with lots of song suggestion. Watch out for the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Hello Knox and welcome to the magical world of Nightwish! At the moment of this video Floor Jansen (Dutch) was only 2 months with the band. She stepped in midway the US leg and midway their World Tour as the previous singer left the band. Floor (from Flora, the Goddess of Flowers and Spring) had only 48 hrs to learn the setlist and to get from The Netherlands to Seattle to meet the band, driving on to Denver for her first concert with NW. She got a phone call from NW on her sister's weddingday asking her if she could/would help out. Although she was not 100% recovered from a severe burnout she said yes. The rest is history. In Oct 2013 she became the official leadsinger. At the moment of the performance you just saw she was experimenting with the end of this song but in August 2013 at the Wacken Open Air Festival in German, in front of 82.000 people, she found the right ending and that performance has become a phenomenal succes with 30 mln. views on YT!! I think you might be blown away again haha! And this song is just the tip of an enormous ice berg! Greetings from The Netherlands!
The side note: 2 phone calls! The first on her sisters wedding: would you like to tour with us when Anette goes on maternity leave (months from now)? Second phone call, one week later: Sh*t hit the fan, you need to come NOW! Please learn the set list in 48 hours.
Floor not only performed this song perfectly after being with Nightwish only two months, in the end, the entire crowd was yelling "Floor! Floor!" Usually fans aren't all that tolerant towards a replacement, or worse, the replacement of the replacement.
This is the first professional recording after Floor stepped in as a singer. Just 8 weeks into the band and then perform at this level.... Can you imagine Wacken Open Air 6 months later...near perfection. You are good at Nightwish linguistics. You got most of it just right.
The fact, that almost no one in the audience had ever heard Nightwish and Floor together, at this point, and in the end they all are shouting her name... Goosebumps galore...
I wanted to say wrong version of the song, but actually after listening to the Waken one so many times, this version is so refreshing, please keep reacting to Nightwish. Storytime should be next next :D
The more I hear both, the more I find that Wacken has better aspects and this show also has better aspects. overall, I like Wacken better as the stage is bigger, it gives them more room to move around, but I feel like you can see the control Floor has over the crowd a bit more. Though Buenos Aries you can kinda hear the crowd more and parts of her vocals kinda shine through a bit more than they did at wacken. Now I could be wrong here but wasn't she still recovering from a cold at Wacken?
That was my first instinct as well haha. But as you say, so many other people are reacting to the Wacken one and they are both amazing in their own ways!! :))
@@stevenzwiesler8085 Floor herself sound quite a bit better in the Wacken video. But the passion of those Latin American crowds are an experience in itself. And I love the Floor chants at the end.I don't know if she was recovering from a cold at Wacken. But she says in her reaction video (I think was) that she was I'll during the South American tour.
Nice reaction. When you read all the comments it’ s no Jinjer but Nightwish haha. But…nice you discovered Nightwish, great band with the most versatile female singer in the world Floor Jansen. Tip for the next? Storytime (Wacken2013). Nightwish will enrich your live. By the way…Jinjer is also good.
Your reaction to Floor's voice was 100% my same reaction when I first heard her. 🤣 I was stunned. The music is incredible too. Great band. Another good breakdown as usual. Hope you have a good week, Knox.
Welcome to Nightwish! NW Army, Ohio here. Floor is absolutely my favorite female singer. He range is epic! She can sing anything. Tge poetry that is in Nightwish's lyrics speaks to me.
That musical angel is Floor Jansen. She's what the #nightwisharmy calls a Valkrie. This music is what's called symphonic metal. Great reaction Knox Hill.
This was relatively early in Floor's career with the band. She joined the tour in North America, then played in South America and finished with the big Festivals in Europe. She had been developing her version of this song and this was the first time she put all of the elements together. On of the reasons Emppu was grinning from ear to ear was that he knew how it was going to end (with THE NOTE) -- and the audience did not. If you are willing to go exploring on TH-cam you can find some of the concerts that preceded this one to see how she developed this rendition, and of course there is the Wacken performance, which is more polished.
@@machintelligence I've been down in the Nightwish rabbit hole for a while now but I haven't had much luck with finding videos of concerts from when she first joined other than a couple filmed by people in the crowd with cell phones.
@@jasonoverman9679 Sadly that is pretty much all that you will find, but you can still track the variations in her performance over time. You might have to look up the concert schedule to get them in correct order, but I did it a few years ago and it was enlightening.
Oh almighty Nightwish, welcome! Tuomas (keys) is a main composer of the band and have done all the lyrics. A musical genius and also a poet. He has never explained the lyrics of this song, so everyone can interpret them however they want. I really enjoyed your analysis and reaction.
@@machintelligence As is the case here, there are 17 key changes and no resolution from chord V to 1 until the end. AFAIK the time signatures, starts 6/8, 6/8, 5/8, 6/8, then 4/4, 4/4, 3/4, 4/4 then straight 4/4.
The interesting thing is that Floor had been singing with the band only a couple of months for this gig. The Wacken 2013 performance is worth checking, too. There she had performed with the band for 5 months and that performance feels even more calculated.
Once upon a time, it was Nightwish that made me start watching reactors. Now more and more often I'm finding and subbing to people before they even find them. Knox, I've watched so many of your videos, trust me when I tell you you're in for the rabbit hole of your life with this band. As someone who loves analyzing meaning and lyrical content, this is a treasure trove for you. Plus just a hugely supportive fanbase. (Nightwish Army reporting for duty.) I see Gabriel's already been by, he has a great list of videos for you, but honestly with this band you can't go wrong. Just make sure it's a live performance, because they always crush it.
Tuomas (on the keys) is who writes and composes the majority of their music, and he often uses a young boy as a self insert to represent his own innocence. I think you might be on to something in "the child will be born again" relating to innocence. IF we keep with the metaphor, "I met siren, we swam together in moonlight waters, she brought me wonder" I'm gonna need you to dig in on these Nightwish reactions, because I've never thought through the metaphors deep enough.
The London orchestra arranger, Pip Williams, really liked how his Orchestra was written for and blended into the mix for this song. There are documentary videos showing how they create this music.
Knox, I'm glad nightwish hit your radar. This band is a ton of fun, and they span many styles within the realm of symphonic rock and symphonic metal. I see Lord Commander Gabriel Bardoc of the Nightwish Army has already stopped in and left his message. I highly recommend you pin that comment to make it easier to reference as you continue down this massive rabbit hole. Nightwish Army Pacific Northwest Division reporting in.
Oh my god oh my god ive been waiting for you to check out Nightwish!!!!!!!! Floor Jansen is by far the most incredible singer there is, while some of the stuff she has sang isnt my fav, just due to preference, but she is the best singer Nightwish has had!
Her solo project is one of the most generic products of music industry I've seen, and not even her stellar vocals can make it any better. But I'm sure she and her producer will make a lot of money from all the hype. She has a whole army of followers now who only know her from Beste Zangers and reaction videos. Isn't it funny how they worship her without even knowing what she's really capable of and what made her great in the first place?
Can I just say that may be the best lyrical breakdown of that song I've heard, and I've watched probly too many reactions. Thanks. You made my day better.
This band is indeed in the "Symphonic Metal" category ! They are really unique and so loved ! Lyricism & Musically always interesting & diversed ! Plz we want more 😁
Greetings from UK Thanks for the reaction, I really enjoyed your insights Floor is one of the best female singers out there at the moment IMHO. This was sung live with no auto-tune. This is a really fantastic band too 😊
This show was relatively early in Floor Jansen’s tenure with Nightwish. The 2013 Wacken performance was even more impressive and considered by many to be the definitive version of Ghost Love Score.
This may have been mentioned, but the lyric changes from, "If you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever" to "You were the one to cut me, so now I'll bleed forever" at the end. I think you nailed it when you mentioned the loss of childhood innocence. This is prevalent in his songs and how it can be so moving to so many people. Listen to Meadows of Heaven to get a greater understanding of this. I cry everytime I listen to it.
thank you for reacting to nightwish. Floor Jansen is one of the best singers on the planet and her range is amazing. she can sing opera, growl, pop and everything you can imagine. she even sang the phonebook once😂 she is also so humble and such a nice human being.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS DAY IS FINALLY HERE! I've been following your rap and k-pop videos (BTS fan here), and I'm glad that your rock and metal journey finally brought you to my favorite band. Love your interpretation of the song. Tuomas, the keyboardist-composer-songwriter, does have a tendency of using water-related metaphors, and his older lyrics are filled with that nostalgia for childhood as well. There's even an entire concept album called Imaginaerum that's about an older man in his deathbed reminiscing his past. It's one of their best. Lyrics-wise, you might really like checking out The Poet and the Pendulum (also a long song, inspired by a Poe short story and the media circus that happened when the band controversially fired their original female singer) and a more recent one called Procession. There is no live recording of the latter, but you can find Poet live from Wembley in 2015, which was a mesmerizing performance. And yes, being there live is an experience unlike any other. I've been to bigger concerts (the venues that Nightwish play here in Brazil are usually small, like the one in the video) that were fantastic, but they are always number one for me. Floor is a beast as a frontwoman too. [I see that the army has already been summoned and the amount of info might be overwhelming, but I swear we're nice!]
This is by far the best lyric breakdown of ghost love score I have ever heard! And I am the type of Nightwish fan that's flying 23 hrs from Sydney Australia to Vienna Austria to see Nightwish live at a festival. Well done good sir. Once you have the respect of the Nightwish Army, you will go places. Welcome to the ride
Absolutely fantastic reaction. We in the Nightwish Army love watching people being introduced to this amazing band. PLEASE go down the Nightwish rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed and we will thoroughly enjoy your reactions. Signing off from Scotland 🏴
Oh, I was so excited for you to react to Nightwish! Thank you! I’m happy how you broke down the semantics, the feelings, and your experience. One of my favorite bands and lead vocalist.
The best analyse I've ever heard of the story being told with this song (sorry, score). The music is also telling the story. Tuomas Halopainen, the songwriter and keyboard player, has written/ made a lot of music with the theme "losing innocence". He's a musical and poetic genius. And Floor Jansen is the most versatile singer I've ever heard in my 56 years of life. She's an empath, makes you really feel what she's singing. Thanks for your reaction. I'll subscribe to follow you on your journey.
Sorry for the idiots who probably scolded you for the "wrong" version. Tuomas doesn't usually explain his lyrics, including this one. The song is from 2005 and for me foreshadows the break with the first singer in 2006 who was one of the co-founders of Nightwish. This recording was made a little after the break with the second singer. This singer is only there temporarily. This temporarily lasts more than 10 years now and Tuomas has said several times that if she leaves, he will break up the band. The song originally fades away slowly. Floor created the new, dynamic ending during rehearsals. Her ease is talent and hard work to the point of perfectionism. For a long time, the song was only played in the extended set list or as an encore. With Floor it moves to the main part.
I gotta say, I really love that you’re giving some spotlight to the lyricism of this band, as that’s often overlooked/overshadowed by the music and performance. There is a reason Tuomas (the keyboardist/writer/composer) refers to himself as “the poet” in a lot of their music, he has a way with words that is uncanny considering English is not his first language and Finnish (his native tongue) doesn’t translate well to English. As for this band, yeah they’re something special, and this particular performance/recordings isn’t one of their best as Floor had not been with the band for long at this point (after replacing the previous singer after she dropped out due to health reasons in the middle of the tour) and was still finding her footing with the band. Wacken 2013 (a few months after this one) is generally considered their best performance and is the gold standard of concerts period, but there’s a lot of great Nightwish performances out there, especially Wembley 2015 and Tampere 2016. Most often, they are best experienced live rather than with studio recordings and Floor performs best when she has a massive space in front of her as she should not be contained in a recording booth. XD This is a deep, deep rabbit hole, and a very rewarding one at that. The sheer number of amazing songs from this band is hard to grasp, and nobody does what they do better than Nightwish. ETA: you can see it in the faces of the other band members through this video, they knew they’d found the One. They were as much in awe of her as we are. XD
Very good reaction. I’ve heard this one a hundred times, but not usually this concert. Tuomas is a lyrical genius. Again, nice to hear a proper attempt at a breakdown on what he intended to bring to the audience. I don’t have to mention Floor, the lead singer. Once in a century talent.
Wow, what an awesome lyric breakdown! Thank you, this was one of the most interesting reaction to this video I have seen. Warm greetings from cold Finland👋
His list kinda sucks, it's mostly modern pop Nightwish. He doesn't even list anything with the original lineup. It reads like a fan that discovered them 2 years ago though reaction videos.
Mind blown... welcome to Nightwish 😊. It happened to me 12 months ago having not heard of Nightwish or Floor before. Since then my musical world has been turned upside down and inside out in the best possible way. "Ghost Love Score" is one of countless masterpieces preferably enjoyed live by this phenomenal band. Thank you Knox for a very thoughtful, insightful and enjoyable reaction. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️
Appreciate what you do bruv! Music reactions have become a drunken pass-time for me the past few years and I really dig the way you're able to breakdown lyrics and provide personal insight. Some of the songs you've covered are ones I've probably heard dozens of times, but my focus is on the instrumentality and composition more than the lyricism. You coming from the background you come from and the skillset you have lends such a unique perspective and gives new life to music I already adore. I have had a hard time explaining to people why I enjoy content like this so much. Though in this context I'd liken it to showing some shit you are really into to a friend and seeing them vibing the fuck out and commenting on things you had never considered. Love the enthusiasm you have for music of all kinds and best of luck to all you do!
"Who is this siren-song angel?" That, my friend, is our Valkyrie Amazonian siren-angel, Floor Jensen. Believe it or not, this isn't even her best performance of this song.
Wauuuu, what an absolutely great reaction and analysis for a first touch to Nightwish. Welcome to a fantastic and captivating journey with this band 🤘 You've got a new subscriber: greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
What a fantastic reaction! My first time finding your channel. You didn't miss a beat on the lyrics and the meaning. I've been a Nightwish fan for over a year and I've seen most reactions out there, but yours was a really good one. I'm glad you chose this version, as it is rare to see a reaction to this one. It's a great performance. If you want to hear it again for yourself, check out the Wacken 2013 performance, which is generally seen as the gold standard. Floor's voice is amazing. If you check out another of theirs, I'll recommend Storytime (for an amazing chorus and great display of what the band can do) or Romanticide (if you wan tto go even heavier), both from Wacken 2013. For another metal band, check out Lovebites. The most amazingly talented band I've seen, and my favorite, along with Nightwish. I'll recommend Swan Song (with the Chopin intro): th-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/w-d-xo.html This version has lyrics with it. It's a masterpiece truly. If you want to see them lean more into power metal, try Holy War live from Zepp (but those lyrics you'd have to pull up).
Greetings from the Nightwish Army (Sydney Australia Division) 🇦🇺. Welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole. Great reaction (especially lyrically) of this epic song by an incredibly awesome band. You will be getting lots of comments from the NW army with further suggestions. Gabriel really knows his stuff and his posts will be an excellent source of info. You are in great hands, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Your life will be forever changed.
Thank you for your reaction! I like how you tried to understand what the song is about, and you’re not just wow-ing your way through the reaction. Well done! You were right about hearing vocals in that last section. There are versions where they are higher in the mix. It’s a reprise of the chant you commented on earlier: “my fall will be for you, my love will be in you; if you be the one to cut me I will bleed forever.” Enjoy the rabbit hole. Tuomas (the keyboard player, main composer and lyricist of the band) is quite the writer indeed.
What a great articulated reaction, it is a pleasure to listen to someone who is intelligent enough to question what's going on in the song. If you pursue this avenue of assessment of Nightwish and its composer-lyricist-poet, Tuomas, it will challenge your perception and interpretation ability to the limit. Follow this rabbit hole it will be very interesting to see you react to more. That is aside from the musical composition, the talent of the musicians, the performance levels and of course the mighty Floor Jansen's outstanding voice. Thanks again for this reaction it was outstanding.
Yes. the Child does represent going back to before the tragic love to a time when love was possible. A dark romantic love song to a Score. Yes, lost innocence is a common theme in Nightwish music. You understand metaphors and imagery in poetry very well my friend. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal Knox Hill. You have just been introduced to the Dutch Valkyrie Queen of symphonic metal, Floor Jansen. Hope to see you again very soon for more epic reactions.
What Gabriel said. (What Ann said) Nightwish Army, Blue Mountains Corps, Australia reporting! Love those Latin American crowds! This was a hot show literally as well as metaphorically - hence the water being given out! The Wacken 2013 version is even better in terms of sound and spectacle! Tuomas, the songwriter and composer on keyboards, has always been an "Ocean Soul". He likes his audience to find their own meanings in most of his songs. Floor is a 6ft plus Dutch Valkyrie Queen Goddess of song and her daughter is Freya! She can sing anything and proved it by singing the Dutch phonebook! Emppu on that purple guitar is THE Electric Hobbit - 5ft 3in! and a black belt in judo! Jukka on drums is a beast. Marko on bass can REALLY sing too! Then there is a multi-instrumentalist named Troy - about the only thing he cannot play is hockey! This will be a wild ride if you continue with Nightwish!
Love seeing you discover Nightwish! Prog/Symphonic Metal will always be my first love, and so much of it is written with deeper poetic meaning so I could really see you enjoying it as a genre. Welcome to a journey, should you choose to follow it. Every reactor seems to fall down the Nightwish rabbit hole at some point. Almost a rite of passage. Lol. Wish more reactors discovered Symphony X, Kamelot, and Aryeon. All 3 are amazing as writers and performers.
Great reaction. I have watched tons of reactions to Ghost Love Score and you are one of the few to dive into the lyrics. You nailed the the lyrics and I love your take on them Another possible take is that it is about a hidden or unrequited love, i.e. Ghost Love. The singer is in love with someone who doesn't know of their love and it is not an entirely healthy one. Tuomas is very poetic in his lyrics and has often stated that he deliberately keeps them vague so that the listener can interpret them for themselves and find their own meaning. Loss of innocence is recurring theme with Tuomas. Floor is an incredible singer and if you keep listening I think you will enjoy your adventure.
Great lyrical breakdown. You pretty much nailed it. To put it simply, the song is about an unrequited love. Hope you do more Nightwish as this is an amazing band and singer. 😊🤘
I'm so excited you are reacting to Nightwish! You are one of my favorite reactors and Nightwish is my favorite band. I hope you continue reacting to them. Each song is so different and they are best listened to live. My personal preference is almost always this vocalist, Floor Jansen. She is the 3rd female vocalist they have had. I would suggest Romanticide from Wacken 2013 next.
Wow, the best interpretation of Nightwish lyrics on the spot. Many have tried.. If you would like another lyrical puzzle from Nightwish, may I suggest "Amaranth". Live performance by Floor at Wacken 2013 is great, but the official video with the previous singer Anette has some interesting visual clues.
Been here since you were at 60k subs, loving your dissections, and now you are reacting to my favourite band of all time! Nice to get you on the nightwish train!
Great reaction to this song and excellent analysis of the lyrics. Tuomas Holopainen, keyboards, writes most of the songs and lyrics and is very poetic but leaves it to the listener to interpret what they are hearing. Amazing considering that English is not his native language. And now he has in the third singer, Floor Jansen, someone able to express his feelings.
Happy to see you enjoying this great band! I would recommend (if you want on your own time) watch the same song live at Wacken 2013 and for a 2nd song Storytime is a great one!😁
The last Note by Chost Love Score was an Freestyle that floor sing by a Band Sound check. On this concert live in Agentina play Nightwish ghost love Score in this Form for the first time. 🤘🤘🤘
Congrats, your reaction is spot on. It's in fact one of the best I've seen in a long time. You just watched Floor Jansen killing this song after she joined the band only a couple of months before. Her first performance with them was in Seattle on October 1st 2012, this concert was December 14th 2012. It was song 14 out of 16 on the setlist so she had been singing well over an hour. I love this version for two specific reasons, first Floor absolutely slaying this and second the absolute joy you see Emppu (the guitar player) having as she hits that high note. See, this was her own addition to this song, the original on the album doesn't have this iconic ending. I guess at that time the band members hadn't heard that many times either. This very melodic but their catalogue is allover the metal globe, and Tuomas (keyboards) is a poet. You'll find a lot more things to analyze in other songs.
Hello Raven. Floor added the vocal melody at the end the very first time she sang GLS live and kept modifying the ending until it became THE ending (which happened a few days before this show). So the band members had heard it plenty of times. Somebody put together a great video: th-cam.com/video/6qDrKoZ62wQ/w-d-xo.html Caution: HOT Floor!
@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 yes I remember that video, but if you count only the live performances, this was the 8th time and only the 3rd time with lyrics. So actually not that often yet. (Of course including the rehearsels it will be more times but still kind of new)
@@littleraven28 According to my data, there had been 17 concerts starting from 10.10.12 before this one in Buenos Aires (15.12.12). Ghost Love Score was put back on the setlist on October 10th and stayed permanently. It must have been the third time she sang the lyrics at the end.
Once again sir, you are are cut above the rest when it comes to breaking down the lyrics. I will continue to follow your channel for your masterful handling of the lyricism. I love it! My request would be Electric Callboy...
Wow, what an outstanding reaction! I love to finally see someone not only appreciating the music and Floor's vocals but also analyzing the lyrics (so on point it's really impressive considering you didn't have any knowledge before checking it out) of this masterpiece, and genuinely appreciating Tuomas' poetry. Thank you for this and PLEASE do more Nightwish in the future!! ♥ (Gonna subscribe if YT lets me, there seems to be a bit of a bug right now but I'll make sure to get back to your content!)
Been going down the rabbit hole of reactions to Nightwish-- my favorite band-- and I gotta say, out of the dozens I've seen, yours has gone the most in-depth into the meaning and significance of the song. I loved what you said about the lyrics. Great review!
Nice reaction. I love the way you dug into the lyrics. Personally I don't mind the pauzes. Because you still got the wow factor of Floor's singing and the music. Now I hope you will do more Nightwish. Either go by Gabriel's list or just pick any songtitle that you are intrigued by . Nightwish always delivers something special. And I would love to see you do more lyrics interpetations. Greeting from the Netherlands.
Since you started metal reacts, I have been waiting for nightwish to come to you, they are amazingly talented, the composition is insane, and their lyrics are incredible, especially with your love of history you would LOVE the greatest show on earth
K H...Enjoyed it, thank you. Welcome to the Nightwish Community. You just dove into the deepest Rabbit Hole on TH-cam. The Nightwish Army will have a request or two. Look forward to you reacting when they slam it Heavy and smooth it with Ballads. You were spot on about this song, makes me feel you will enjoy the lyric side as much as the driving music. Hope to see your next reaction soon. Be well. NW Army in So Cal USA.

The title of the movie is correct but the title of the "knox hill have posted a new video" says "jinjer ghost love score".
On another note, how about "Gojira - Wolf down the earth"
Stay amazing
Tarja is the reason I fell in love with nightwish same song with tarja

This version is very good, but her performance at Waken 2013 is mindblowing 🤯😍
A perfect live recording!! I’ve never seen or heard better
I agree, it's much better!
no comparison for sound, production
I like Raw more yes
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I just posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community

Same old shit Gabriel
My dude, do you have like a bot that constantly checks for new NW reactors? How are you so ON IT.
trust Gabriel :)
Mad respect for your interpretation of the lyrics. I have lost track of how many reactions I have watched over the past couple years. You were the very first, perhaps only one, that dove into the lyrics. Well done!
I agree, very well done on the fly interpretation of the lyrics! Respect!
I came to find this comment, absolutely incredible interpretation
Same thought here, I'd love to see a cycle of Ghost Love Score + Romanticide, then Poet and the Pendulum + Bye Bye Beautiful, I tend to think of those 4 as a story arc, and I'm sure I'm missing a whole lot of the subtleties.
I concur.
Came here to say something similar.
Hello
Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands.
Welcome to the world of Nightwish and one of the best singers of Holland ( Floor Jansen )
🇫🇮🇳🇱
hoi
Floor!"
Usually fans aren't all that tolerant towards a replacement, or worse, the replacement of the replacement.
Agreed, take everything you loved about this performance and the Wacken 2013 takes it up another level.
Your comment pertains to the Wacken performance, which this isn’t.
@@DrSkeff What in his comment is wrong? He is talking about the Buenos Aires show.
Hail to the Queen, the Poet, the Riff-maker, the Groove master, the Piper of Heaven and to the Beat Lord ! Nightwish Army Italy present !
I prefer this version to wacken and was happy to see someone react to it. It's more raw, wild, and intimate.
This version is equally as good as Wacken though
18:36 That smile on Emppu's face during the high note, a look of pure joy
And Toumas's manic grin early on saying yep she's a keeper.
@@jasonoverman9679 Sadly that is pretty much all that you will find, but you can still track the variations in her performance over time. You might have to look up the concert schedule to get them in correct order, but I did it a few years ago and it was enlightening.
Thats the one, he knows what's coming and anticipating on the audience's reaction. such a cool image
One of the best lyrical breakdowns of this song I have heard in nearly 3 years of watching reactions to it. awesome job!!
Nightwish have probably the most versatile female rock singer on the planet. Floor Jansen's range and control are beyond elite.
every single member of nightwish is a literal virtuoso, masters of their art
Oh almighty Nightwish, welcome!
Tuomas (keys) is a main composer of the band and have done all the lyrics. A musical genius and also a poet. He has never explained the lyrics of this song, so everyone can interpret them however they want. I really enjoyed your analysis and reaction.
He also loves contrasts both musically and in the lyrics. Time signatures and key changes are often frequent.
Great reaction, more Nightwish please, they are fantastic. And they have a lot of lyrics you can break down 😀
I concur!
Nightwish are legendary. Such top quality performers
And now the army is here... glorious Nightwish army.
Oh my god oh my god ive been waiting for you to check out Nightwish!!!!!!!!
Floor Jansen is by far the most incredible singer there is, while some of the stuff she has sang isnt my fav, just due to preference, but she is the best singer Nightwish has had!
She's so incredible but her pop/adult contemporary album is a total flop🤣
@@NPK476 Yeah I agree, My dad loves it but I cant stand it tbh, but anyone can agree she is incredible
@@shyartistry I really tried to trick myself into liking it, but I just can't 🤣
@@NPK476 Same
Her solo project is one of the most generic products of music industry I've seen, and not even her stellar vocals can make it any better. But I'm sure she and her producer will make a lot of money from all the hype. She has a whole army of followers now who only know her from Beste Zangers and reaction videos. Isn't it funny how they worship her without even knowing what she's really capable of and what made her great in the first place?
Welcome to the magical world of nightwish best live band on the planet imho keep em coming. UK welsh division here for more.
Plz we want more 😁
Greetings from UK
Thanks for the reaction, I really enjoyed your insights
Floor is one of the best female singers out there at the moment IMHO.
Omg this is my first time encountering an ARMY who is also part of the Nightwish army 💜💜
@@danaest-louis6094 double army unite!
Great reaction! Welcome to the world of Symphonic Metal!
Your spot on- “a symphony of metal”. This genre is called Symphonic Metal 🤘🔥🤯
Right? I feel emotionally healed whenever I listen to her sing. I'm also an empath who is going through some deep healing right now. 😊❤
I’m so excited you’re checking out Nightwish!!!
XD
This is a deep, deep rabbit hole, and a very rewarding one at that.
Gives me chills. Every time.
Nightwish Army Alabama, USA Division reporting in. Glad you starting this journey. You wont regret it.
The look on your face when Floor Jansen started signing ..... priceless!
Wow, what an awesome lyric breakdown! Thank you, this was one of the most interesting reaction to this video I have seen. Warm greetings from cold Finland👋
welcome to the most epic world of symphonic metal.. The Nightwish Army signin in..
Awesome, been waiting for this! Huge Nightwish fan, saw them live in Minneapolis last year, unreal, follow Gabriel's "list", can't go wrong!
Every time I hear this HER VOICE!!!! TOUCHES MY SOUL!🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Been following for ages, Honestly glad to see you discover Nightwish, one of my favourite bands ever. Thanks Knox!
You should check the version "Nightwish - Ghost Love Score - Live at Wacken 2013" It's way more great.
Too late for that.
I prefer the crowd on this one.
Thank you for your reaction! I like how you tried to understand what the song is about, and you’re not just wow-ing your way through the reaction. Well done! You were right about hearing vocals in that last section. There are versions where they are higher in the mix. It’s a reprise of the chant you commented on earlier: “my fall will be for you, my love will be in you; if you be the one to cut me I will bleed forever.”
Enjoy the rabbit hole.
I agree my friend, I hope that he does more of their songs, his interpretations are very astute.
If you want to hear another incredible Nightwish song then I highly recommend any live performance of Romanticide with Floor.
Nightwish is an amazing band and has many great hits and a rabbit hole well worth the fall!
I always try to recommend having the captions on screen (if possible). Because Nightwish lyrics are truly poetry.
All the lyrics are like that pretty well-thought-out in an amazing way
What Gabriel said.
Omg I've been waiting for this
Wow, the best interpretation of Nightwish lyrics on the spot. Many have tried..
If you would like another lyrical puzzle from Nightwish, may I suggest "Amaranth". Live performance by Floor at Wacken 2013 is great, but the official video with the previous singer Anette has some interesting visual clues.
Such a fire song. Their performance is great. Seen this a few times and enjoyed every second of it.
Damn I was not expecting this one! Great catch to the lyrics and also the whole song theme. Fire Knox 🔥✋🏻😎
Now this was a very good reaction! Really enjoyed your views of the lyrics. Have a lovely day! Greetings from Finland.
Flore is an INSANELY talented vocalist. Her range is incredible. I look at her and Tatiana (Jinjer Vocalist) as two of the best female leads in music.
You just spoke my mind.
Floor is the Queen and Tati is the Princess of Metal
I would put Elize Ryd up there as well. If you've never listened to Amaranthe, I recommend checking them out. Another very powerful voice.
Blatant disrespect to Angela Gossow and Simone Simmons.
I clicked on a song reaction and got a fricking tarot reading. And the High Priestess sang her heart out. Good one dude.
Somebody put together a great video: th-cam.com/video/6qDrKoZ62wQ/w-d-xo.html
Caution: HOT Floor!
@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 could be, I just counted the live performances shown in the video. But maybe there were more.
I’m 10 seconds in and I already know Knox is about to join the Nightwish Army.
Welcome brother
Welcome to nightwish. A collection of some of the best metal artists on the planet. Please take a deep dive.
Very good analysis! I don't usually watch a lot of reactions but this one was great!
"metaphorical death of the relationship"
Sounds like time for Romanticide :D
Been going down the rabbit hole of reactions to Nightwish-- my favorite band-- and I gotta say, out of the dozens I've seen, yours has gone the most in-depth into the meaning and significance of the song. I loved what you said about the lyrics. Great review!
I love when they do lyrics breakdown during reactions
Great reaction 😊
Especially I liked how quick you were analysing lyrics.
Floor is the most beautiful woman in the world with that voice. Pretty sure she is some kind of valkyrie or war goddess.
Wonderful reaction! I'm stoked that you have found Nightwish. Looking forward to follow along as you discover them. Be well!
I love this band more than anything!🤘🏻🖤🦉🌙🌑
3:13 Floor Jansen, such a queen!😍
and then is marko hietala, literally one of northern kings.
