    Having Soucy in the lineup really does make a difference in stabilizing the Canucks defense

      On the surface you wouldn't think he was that much of a key variable but stats don't lie. Canucks win/lose ratio is heavily tilted towards victory when CS is dressed. Hope to God he stays healthy for the post season and same thoughts regarding a sooner than later return to the lineup for big Dakota. Overall team offensive threat seems diminished with his absence.

      It's both having a guy who calms things down and also the depth that allows each pairing to have even more skill.

    This is no secret that what was killing the Canucks's momentum was their forced line changes. To think that 2x players missing would completely derail the team in terms of who works on what line, and now that Soucy is back, they are now back winning massive games. To go and get 2x wins in both LA and Vegas is a statement that they are DARING the other teams in the Pacific Division to try and even catch them, which is asking a lot, since they are all double digits in points behind them!!

      Seems like it wasn't just Dakota being out but the combination of him AND Soucy being out that took away a key player too many. Good to see Carson Soucy back and stabilizing our blueline. With him Hughes and Hronik gobbling up the minutes, Myres should be able to be put back on reduced ice time where he can be an OK player at least. Though he does seem to be starting to get some passion for the game back which is part of why Tyler Myres seems to be coming back to life this season. Still not a $6 mil/ year player, but if he can play like he has been this year as a 3rd line blueliner but at half the pay, he'd not be a terrible part of our blueline. Still takes way too many dumb penalties though.

    • @conorcahill5422
      @conorcahill5422 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Seriously_Unserious Truth is, and I never like saying it when players that are a major problem for a team are a major problem, but I can't hold back on Myers. He is GARBAGE, regardless of whether or not he plays with Soucy in defense. He has been costing the team with his occasionally frequent turnovers or the times he takes stupid penalties, especially when the team is already a man down. To me, he's very lucky to still be in the team, when he should have been moved on ages ago. Now it looks like the remainder of his contract will carry on forward. Then after that, he'll be moved somewhere else.

    • @Seriously_Unserious
      @Seriously_Unserious 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@conorcahill5422 That would be my guess, that Alvain and Rutherford won't resign him. And you may note I was not saying Myres is actually good, but that he can be a non liability if used sparingly enough on the bottom pairing and not vs the best lines the other team has to offer.
      The problem with Myres is when he's not taking penalties, it's usually because he's not playing with any heart, just going through the motions. When he gets into the game, and plays with some passion, he gets too wound up and starts taking dumb penalties. That is and probably always will be a problem for the Chaos Giraffe.
      I was mainly pointing out that with Sousy back, we don't have to play Myres above the 3rd line, which means we're not overplaying the player to the point where his worst traits start coming out so much.

    The Canucks win all 3 games on this road trip & played smart defensively in all 3 games... Vancouver fired 35 shots on goal, & Hill was letting out some corpulent rebounds...The turning point of the game tonight was when Lindholm did a great job of keeping the puck onside, & then fired a shot on net & Garland was in the perfect spot for the rebound goal... From that point on it was curtains for Vegas as the Canucks put the clamps down & cruised to a convincing 3-1 victory.... Looking forward to the Vancouver vs. Winnipeg rematch on Saturday...

    I am a little worried for the Canucks in the playoffs. Looking at Vegas exploiting LTIR, Colorado’s deadline moves, and Edmonton’s superstars. It’s intimidating and concerning, but one thing I’ve learned about these Canucks is they always find a way to win, it’s refreshing to see a lineup that gels and works well together. We all thought the same when Bruce got fired the way he did, but what a job by all the new staff to turn this team around and make BC proud again. Towel Power is back in Vancouver, and when you combine will with skill, like this team has shown; don’t park your car downtown in the middle of June.

    Great game by the Canucks. Finally. A game like the beginning of the year. They really did a great job of controlling virtually the whole game. Pretty much everyone played well. Hopefully they can keep this kind of pay up for the rest of the year and head into the playoffs with this kind of structure.

But lets see how we do against a good team like the jets in the rematch. Knights might not make the playoffs, flames are catching up to the top 4. Would be better to see them make it. Go Canucks Go!
