    You know that sound old heavy wooden doors make when you open them? Loud creeking, moaning sound....that's the sound these guys back make after hours of being bent over like that, much respect to all Rodbusters.

      Yes sir my daddy was a ironworker for 35 years he passed away in 2010 but growing up he'd give me $20 to give him rub down I charged him a dollar a minute 😂 he'd say damn girl you're tough... That's highway robbery😂😂 But he always paid up. Because I put in that work, I was wore out by the time I was done. He liked to be killed. He said come on girl you ain't going to hurt me😂😂
      Damn I miss that man. They don't make them like that anymore 💯

How much does a number 10 or 11 piece of rebar weigh (10 pounds per foot normally in 8 to 24 foot bars) so 80 to 240 pounds. Yes in residential the rod busters have it easier, BUT when placing rebar in the foundation of say a poured in place High Rise building or a Bridge, yeah it's not even close brother ;-)

    I cut and bend rebar, I always wondered what happened after the fact. I thought my job was hard until I saw this video. But we do sell re bar tying guns at our facility that can tie up a piece of rebar in half the time. I showed it off to some rod busters that came through and they've never looked back. Well worth the investment and less carpal tunnel.

    • @whitey22222
      @whitey22222 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rebar tie guns make what kind of tie? A snap tie only as far as the ones I have seen, they are great when that is all you need but in many circumstances you need a different tie like a figure 8 or a saddle or either one of those with a wrap, or any of the above in double wire, hence unless the work your are doing is all snap ties they are useless, not to mention when many of the tie machines were brought out to demo on the job I was able to out run them! I will concede that is not the norm, but I am a 4th generation master iron worker with over 16 years in the rod patch and many more as supervision, building poured in place high rise buildings, tilt panel buildings and bridges among other things (-;

    I am a Hong Kong Ironworker
    It's very interesting to see a different way to tie to wire
    Coz, normally the wire are seperated from the wire round, and which is cut as 16 inches for each wire
    The other thing is, we dont use the pliers, we use a hook/goose to tie the iron

There is an actual a reason to do this, and it was being done BEFORE I started in rebar in the early 90's, You snap from bothsides alternating to help stop the mat from racking just like using a saddle but for fill ins, like say when you are filling in ties on a wall mat tied on the ground and then flown by crane into position LOL! Thats weak!! Youre only tying one bar. Its more complex having to tie fifty percent or even thirty

      100% tie on anything is more of a pain in the ass, you cover more sq ft doing 50%

    I ain't no real rodbuster but single snap tie is garbage, I've use a saddle tie or a figure 8 tie for shit small than that size diameter bar.

      Yep you aint a rodbuster, that's for sure. Saddles and fig8's are for walls and columns, not top steel.

    Why don’t they have the Milwaukee tool that does this in seconds?

    • @christilton350
      @christilton350 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do have tools that tie automatically and really fast for a few grand

    • @leeannbankston8466

      Because thats for beginners and you have to learn to tie... we uave to tie saddle ties, figure 8 ties its a lot more than this plus the guns wont get in tight areas... but most importantly a real journeyman can toe faster and tighter than that gun

    This is why we don't hire rod Buster's. We do our own rebar before we pour concrete. Double tie or nothing

    • @izzywashington5461

    America has no quality anymore always just a hurry and cost more🤔

    • @adminadmin9997
      @adminadmin9997 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a hurry due to the bids. We get bad rates so we have to hurry the fuck up to meet are goals. Quality is still there we just need better rates. Some jobs want a single man to place tons of steel in a single day. Its stressful sometimes at the expense of our bodies.
