Thank you Miklos. You have taken complex and arcane software, and associated guides, and turned them into an easy-to-use tool. I am grateful, my blood pressure has returned to normal!
A man after my own heart! I can't thank you enough. For years I used Studio 9 and had it down to a T. Having upgraded to 16 I find that things are completely different and I struggled. Your presentation is perfect...clear, easy to understand, full of helpful explanations...just what I needed. Absolutely first class!!
Thank-you so much for your wonderful explanation regarding menus. I found your explanation so much better than anything else I have read and listened to over these past couple of weeks as I struggled to establish a menu in my DVD. THANKS AGAIN.
This was so simple to follow! Thank you!! Quick question - in your tips you explained what it means to get an "exclamation point" where a video used to be - but what does it mean to the the "no" sign?? Meaning the circle with a line through it? I can still open the files, and they haven't moved... ???
I’m not sure, but I think it means that that file is not currently imported and ready to use, that you need to import it first to get it up into your work station.
Miklos Jako I think you're right! And thanks to you I FINALLY finished a DVD with menus and titles!! (The first of many for this project!) THANKS SO MUCH!!
I have Studio 17 and I used your recommendation about making movie segments over 10 minutes. I'm on my 4th segment and tried to export to file. I keep getting an error message "NGStudio has stopped working". I selected the "Close the Program" option, rebooted my laptop 3 times with no success. Any suggestions on resolving this problem?
Hi had pinnacle since version 10 and they keep changing stuff on every upgrade I'm up to 21 now and it is impossible to find good tutorials so I'm hoping that this tutorial works with 21, I only use the menu function once in a blue moon, so have a tendency to forget the procedure in that time. I'm currently working on a project that include 6 shot video for my brother in law. And I want it to look good and function well, He'd paid a small fortune to get some VHS tapes copied to DVD and the disc came back in a mess every thing was spread over about 20 DVD's so he has asked me to edit and condense it all
Hello Boris. Normally I can’t spend the time trying to answer questions, but I thought yours was important. Namely, does Studio 19 differ significantly from earlier versions in making a menu? I think NO. The tab labels have changed: Library is now labeled Organize. Movie is now Edit. Disc is now Author. But the basic steps are the same: 1) Click Organize. 2) Click “Disc Menus” at lower left. 3) Click on “Blank_Sub” at right. 4) Click “Author” to get back to your movie, with the new Menu track at top. 5) Drag that menu to the new black menu track on top. 6) Drag the orange squares from the preview window down to your movie line spots. (“C1” is already in at the start of your movie line.) 7) Click Play (“Open disc simulator”) of the preview window, to preview what you have. 8) X out that window. 9) Export your movie to a DVD. I hope this works for you. You do have to click on Author to get that new menu track on top. You might want to check “Pinnacle Studio 18 & 19 Ultimate - DVD Menu / Disc Authoring Tutorial” by PinnacleStudioPro, Maliek Whitaker. He’s the expert. But, I find the whole procedure with the combination menu and sub-menu overwhelming. So I stick to using just the sub-menu. Good luck. Note that I have a new video called “Pinnacle Studio 19 Basics, A to Z”, which you might find helpful on other procedures.
Very Nice Job. I subscribed Miklos! Question: Do you have a tutorial on youtube where I can have like 18 main chapters and then when you click them I can have sub chapters. Just like my Pinnacle Studio 16 Complete Training by Paul Holtz has? If you don't do you know who does?
Sorry, Cristi, I can't really help. I'm not familiar with bluray capacities of PCs. Also, I can't afford the time to try to answer questions in general. Sorry. MJ
Is your drive able to read a blu ray disc? If so, then the blu ray wasn't authored properly. This would be the same in that case of a Standard Def DVD not authored properly. You will not be able to view the menu if it was not authored properly.
Miklos Jako Thank you miklos i just started working with menus on blu ray rather than dvd,and as you can see i have a lot of questions, thank you for your tutorial ,it was very helpful ,sorry for disturbing you ,
HELLO MIKLOS, I HAVE STUDIO 18, IN MENU, CAN A PERSON ADD MUSIC, I KNOW SOME OTHER VERSION LIKE POWER DIRECTOR THEY HAVE A SONG TRACK OR YOU COULD ADD A TRACK TO THERE MENU. I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENT. "HOW TO MAKE MENU FOR DVD" WAS VERY HELPFUL FOR ME. THANKS
I have had Studio 16 since the fall of 2012 when I bought a nice high speed computer especially to make videos. I have never been able to make a video yet. I bought Paul Holtz's training program but he always jumped around on the training and never had a constant flow from beginning to end. I could not learn from that. Paul Holtz was no help because he talked to fast and was very impatient with me and constantly made me feel inferior and assumed I understood everything he said first time. I am going to listen to Miklos. He seems to talk in a direction I can follow. ....Tim

Miklos, I have been trying to do this with no luck for quite some time. The manual was no help. Your video solved my dilemma . A thousand thanks !
You’re welcome. I posted it because I thought there must be other people beside myself who find this function very confusing.

Padraig Seamus Don't know. Never tried it myself. I'm pretty sure Paul Holtz would have it on his tutorials somewhere.
