@DmvFisher. What license do you need at Jones Point? So far I’ve been told, Virginia, DC, and even Md.

It’s a confusing place. Technically the pier on the left side of the bridge you need a DC license and the pier on the right side you need a Virginia license. You can fish Maryland or Virginia side of the Potomac with either license but from Jones point to chainbridge you need a DC license

nelson f deras Hey man I haven't been to jones point in about 5 weeks but I'm planning on going Monday or tues. I use 5-5oz bank sinkers and between 6/0-8/0 circle hook with 80lb mono leader. I prefer any fresh bait I can catch there but usually bring some frozen perch or bluegill to start with. As well as night crawlers and a small rod with size 10-12 hooks to catch bait. You can also use chicken thighs and breast cut into 1 1/2in chunks and catch some smaller catfish.
