    Wow! There must be a large influx of people to Malaybalay from other areas during the Kaamulan Festival. Very well captured. Thank you.

    Enjoyed the video thanks Nathan.Very interesting. I actually plan to lease some fertile land and grow fruit and vegies there, I am a gardener and it is a great way to enjoy the later years in Malaybaly. Watermelon and pumpkin (squash ) I particularly enjoy growing ,along with tomatoes,heirloom varieties should do ok in that climate being cooler,(if available or allowed) cucumbers, chard, etc (called silver beet in NZ) Most produce I will give away of course. Just to help the people and enjoy gardening and keep fit. Also help out at animal shelters too. Keep up the great work, take care and God Bless mate👍😊

      Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a video in the next few months about the philanthropy organizations that foreigners can participate in here in malaybalay.

      Looks like we have similar interests @bluesart7, growing veggies and rescue animals. Are you living there or plan to get there soon? Besides rarer tomatoes, chillies and capsicums(peppers) are of special interest to me. I wonder what varieties are available in the Philippines. I plan to be in Malaybalay in June if I can find reasonable priced budget accommodation.

    Yes, Joe to indicate a foreigner, esp from the US has pretty much gone away but in Mindanao it is still done quite a bit because many foreigners do not venture that far south. I personally think it still has to do with people being advised in the past not to go there because it was said to be unsafe. I know it is much safer now but those rumors are still there. I hear people occasionally mention it still.

    • @expatlifestyle2000
      @expatlifestyle2000  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Fyi: It's much safer but from my conversations with police and locals, it's still not safe to wander about in the mountains or at night.

    Great to see the American lemon trees being sold there. Here its Meyer lemons mainly, most homes here have a lemon tree, many have feijoa trees too, me included. Will definately be getting a couple, love my straight up squeezed lemon juice👍

    Another great video Nate, personally I love a good food and music festival...... Looks like lots of fun ....... Did you put peanuts in your RC Cola ? 😂 That was a thing when I was a youngster.... I did a little research fot you
    Local Walmart prices today, May 9th for live plants.... 2 ft red apple tree $73, mango tree in a 4 " pot about a foot tall $ 34, 12 " pomegranate $ 39 and 4 foot peach tree $ 90
    Of course nursery prices are higher...
    Keep the videos coming.....

      Dang, ide say it's much more economical to have a green thumb here in malaybalay. Thanks for sharing the prices. I always get so curious with the comparisons.

    Thanks Nate.. I too like farming. All seem like amazinly friendly people. In ur Malaybalay vids it to me appears the population to be more males than females.. and for the most part the females seem to carry a lil extra kilos compared to other places I've been. Is that true in ur opinion or just? Thx.. Stay safe

    • @expatlifestyle2000
      @expatlifestyle2000  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would say the ratios depend on the locations. Outside the colleges, the ratios are far more females than males. In other parts of the city, I would say there are more men about as they are FAR more likely to have outside jobs like transportation drivers and manual labor.
      As far as extra kilos, I would say it's comparable to the other parts of the philippines. They do have more indigenous peoples look about them here. Which appears, to me, a more roundish face and body.
      Interesting observations, sir. I will attempt to be more observant and assess the differences.
