Well, the weapon is created by other 4 swords, so the buff makes the sword the power it deserves. Before of rework most of the swords was lame, now the herb sword is better and most of them are enjoyable now.
Tbh if they just buffed his hp and defense(and probably speed) he would be WAY harder and actually not a joke. Same with eater of worlds and eye of Cthulhu. Source: 10+ regular online vanilla master mode server experience. 3 persons with minishark actually barely managed to kill eater of worlds. Skeletron even in hardmode was hella strong. And mech bosses were hard.
In my Sword only playthrough on Master mode I was able to do this with a lil bit of help from the bladetongue, absolutely insane how much this weapon has evolved

Hah, yeah. I tried this a few days ago and was surprised by how viable it was. I almost killed skeletron with it in the same night but ran out of time with only a few thousand HP on the boss. Great video showcasing the Night's Edge!
It’s crazy to think this is actually an optimal strategy for melee even on master mode. Imo the new knight’s edge is the new pre-nerf Daedalus stormbow. It’s literally the best sword from skeletron to post-mech bosses. Excalibur is on par for damage but knight’s edge has more range and you can aim with it.
im so glad they reworked melee in 1.4.4, i was waiting for a melee overhaul so the class would seem fun to play again instead of being "im gonna tank this boss haha"
Hey uh quick tip for anyone if your a melee character USE THE DAO OF POW FOR DESTROYER the peirce REALLY helps and you can DESTROY it's health when it's coiled
@@kozolith2121 while yes its better for this fight alone, in my opinion the obtainability for the dao of pow is much better compared to the drippler crippler since you do need to wait for a blood moon at that point just get a banarang to destroy twins and skeletron since you can use the souls for some cool weapon
nah bruh the real crime isn't the nimbus rod, it's the cobalt shield. who in their right mind doesn't upgrade it to obsidian??? you clearly got the obsidian because you have molten stuff, so why not upgrade it 😭😭😭???
@@shawermus not rlly difficult, if you progress at a somewhat fast pace you get the different swords at 4 different stages in the game anyways so it's not that difficult to get i can grind out an nights edge in about an hour on a new character

im doing a melee playthough now and it was so strange coming into hard mode with the nights edge and not having nay problems with things like posseds armour and unicorns.

i never really figured out how to dodge the destroyer's lasers. I actually think it's genuinely challenging because it shoots like 20 lasers a second and doesnt even warn you.
Impressive! But for me probes are bigger problem than destroyer for some reason, like they always kill me and destroyer sometimes not fast enough to damage me before probes kill me
@@mojmov6128 This not works, every probe shoots me and if I try to pickup heart then destroyer just blocks way to hearts. Also I always somehow manage to release almost all probes before dealing at least 40k hp. But still ty

I felt that. didn't expect you to get that low, and solely from the head basically. to me on expert mode as ranger I dodged the head always but lasers were a problem as I didn't have as much defence. beat it first try though. and other mechanical bosses didn't feel more difficult to me than destroyer for some reason... Even easier, but maybe that's just because of the megashark.
This is the second hardest mech boss for me (opinion) The easiest is skeletron prime, And the hardest is twins. Even though i have an unreal onyx blaster.
If your in expert or master mode. They would have just been in the expert mode bag. If your on normal, they would have dropped them floating in mid air somewhere
What I recommend if you're playing Warrior on Mastermode is finding the Flying Knife from a Hollowed Mimic, craft Frost Armor, get a Magma Stone and farm the Twins on a skybridge while using Ichor/Cursed Flame flasks to get the Excalibur and a fullset of Hollowed Armor and only then you fight The Destroyer with the Excalibur, Full Hollowed armor set and The Brain of Confusion
yeah i did this with titanium armor and wayyy worse accsessories and still destroyed him lmao new nights edge is sick, probably best pre-hardmode and early hardmode weapon imo
When I was playing in my master mod world, I accidentally misclicked and summoned an exterminator, it was sooooo early hardmode so I had to kill him with edge of the night and I almost killed him, but the day came (there were no buffs with me) and he had 47 thousand hp... Failure

nobody attacks the base at the start lmao. me and my friends were doing mmftw and we had to kill destroyer in 5s or we would all die to huge probe lasers, we used drippler crippler and daedalus and rushed its core, killed it in about 7s

Keep the minimap on so you can see where the head is coming from. That way you don't get hurt and can dodge the head which does the most damage.

it's never been a problem. just make sure to focus on probes near. they drop hearts that you can pick up.

The cross necklace. It's gives you longer invincibility frames. So I'm invincible when the laser hits
