Thank u so much for your answer on this topic. I asked u about this on your Rev7 review video. And u were the only DJ that replied to my question (I posted the same question on 3 other Rev7 reviews) about cue drift on the Rev7. Pioneer is lucky to have you as an ambassador. You have great tech knowledge on top of great DJ skills! 👍
I always had anti-drift on when using turntables because that flutter, which helps tremendously when mixing. But the cue positions were always changing when I would scratch or do some beat juggles which I always thought it was just a Serato issue. The distance would be within an inch to sometimes 3-4 inches. Glad to know this is the issue, thanks for clarifying / explaining!
I dont know why im just seeing this video… GOOD STUFF MAN.. i never knew this… i wonder if this was the reason why my phase cue points were always moving when i juggled… this made me stop doing live juggles when using phase .. i asked phase they had no idea… so i totally benched them and used needles or rane 12s… im trying this RIGHT AWAY… and thanks 🙏🏾
YOOODDDDDAAAAAA!!!!! :) Hey Pri Yon, this was a great explanation and also highlights how modern DJ gear can get a bit complex. :) Thanks to you I've been scratching on my DDJ-400!
Wow thank you for this explanation I been struggling trying to figure out what was wrong with my ttb it kept slowing down while using serato. Now after your explanation makes a whole lot of sense!!! A humangus thanks 🙏 ❤❤
@priyonjoni bro thanks so much. I have been using control vinyl for about a year and a half coming off a controller, I used instant doubles with one turntable, I got a 1200 a few months ago so running 2 turntables and I would get this annoying drift, I started to think it was the 1200. I thought anti drift on was the solution, as recent as last nights gig I was like wth. I literally paused your video, turned off anti drift and I get no queue drift. You saved me $$ because I was gonna go buy another brand new reloop to match the other turn table.
Thanks for the clarification! Is it possible to switch completely to digital playback with motorized platters? So that all analog features are taken out of account. I just want the motorized platter for the vinyl feeling without the downsides.
There are some complexities when using Phase because in Serato, there are two configurations in how to use them. I’m both instances, Anti-Drift on and off will affect them. With that said, let’s break them down in each configuration. Phase plugged in via RCA: When Phase is plugged into your mixer and generating it’s own timecode signal. While Anti-Drift is off, you might still get some sticker/cue drift. This is because Phase does not generate an authentic Serato timecode signal, which includes positional data along the timecode. We know this, because the signal reader on Serato turns red instead of grey. With the lack of rotational data, you can still get some sticker/cue drift. It’s still best to keep anti-drift off, but it will not eliminate all drifting. Phase HID: Phase HID is the wireless way to use Phase, though not completely wireless. The box is connect via USB to your computer, but the RCAs are not connected. Phase HID integrated digitally to Serato and eliminates all the issues mentioned above in traditional configuration. However, same rules apply with Anti-Drift. Keep it off if you wish to eliminate slight sticker/cue drifting.
@@priyonjoni Thx for the quick response, just got the rev7 yesterday. My jog wheels didn't work until I subscribed to dvs. Any tips? I'll try it without dvs to see if I can get it to work. Also not sure if it matters, but I got the gold limited edition.
This is why I argue why using real vinyl to beat juggle is EASIER🤣🤣🤣 when old school cats complain about “all you kids are just hitting buttons, where are the REAL DJs??!!”. Digital format made it MORE CHALLENGING 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching! Want to see a video where I scratched on Serato with a lightsaber? Check it out here th-cam.com/video/hCYkgtnwoSg/w-d-xo.html

Excellent video. Explained it in terms which even a novice can understand.

Thanks for explaining it so clear. You been a great help to me on every videos you created. 🔥
Bro this is a great breakdown of this issue.
Great i don’t have moving platters. Ut always see your well explained videos!
I never got any drifting with my Rane 12 though? And with the rev 7 I do.
Wow. I thought it will be a plus to have that on. Thanks I will go back n fourth from the two. Thanks for this
Awesome breakdown brother!
Scratching to house music is okay. just not on every track.... Especially using the same sounds to scratch to.. Thank you for the Video Pri yon Joni.
Thanks for describing this topic! Also would be interesting to hear about Serato's sticker lock feature.
Thank you so much. I just learned something new
saved me with this one! Thank you!

😲!!! Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
More good stuff that I didn't know I should know about. Thanks!
Does Rekorbox have an anti-drift off button?
This seems like an issue with rekordbox too

Thanks for the info 🙏
Great video 🙏🏽

Great explanation
Two words… Spot on
This was very informative, appreciate the gems 💎
Hello!! In virtual DJ have antidrift?
What about Phase? Should I have anti-drift on or off?
very very good explained!
That’s a great explanation.
Great info!
Thanks for the clarification! Is it possible to switch completely to digital playback with motorized platters? So that all analog features are taken out of account. I just want the motorized platter for the vinyl feeling without the downsides.
Turn ON anti-drift.
what about phase and anti drift feature?
There are some complexities when using Phase because in Serato, there are two configurations in how to use them. I’m both instances, Anti-Drift on and off will affect them. With that said, let’s break them down in each configuration.

@@priyonjoni thank you for this awesome detailed answer.. respect and shout out from reunion island.
Do not use anti drift on Rane 12’s. If you beat juggle you’ll drag the marker. So if you start at 12, you’ll drag to 1.
Is cue drift and sticker drift considered to be the same thing?
Yes
Can you use a rev7 without dvs?
DVS wasn’t used here.
@@priyonjoni Thx for the quick response, just got the rev7 yesterday. My jog wheels didn't work until I subscribed to dvs. Any tips? I'll try it without dvs to see if I can get it to work. Also not sure if it matters, but I got the gold limited edition.
It does not need a subscription to DVS to use the jog wheels of the DDJ-REV7.
so Anti Drift in this medium is like Image Stabilization for camera bodies/lenses in photography
🤔
Not a bad analogy.
REV7 is finally available in India but after tax it's priced at $2344 😮💨
This is why I argue why using real vinyl to beat juggle is EASIER🤣🤣🤣 when old school cats complain about “all you kids are just hitting buttons, where are the REAL DJs??!!”.
Digital format made it MORE CHALLENGING 😂😂😂
I wish its get work
Drift : Fun
Anti-drift : Police Officer!
