I went to Mount lemon for the first time with my fiancé , in May of this year, I fell in love with Tucson , and this beautiful place.... Funny thing was , we had a U2 concert to go see in Phoenix , that evening, we spent the day going up to mt lemon, and honestly , I wanted to stay longer miss the concert, as I was truly capitvated by the beauty of this place.
Your Spelling for Mount Lemmon Is Incorrect
I lived in Tucson From 75-78.We moved there from S. Florida I fell in love with the desert as well as the mtns. My parents took us up to mt. Lemmon quite a bit . Thanks for the post.
Awesome job! I first saw snow on Mt. Lemmon In 84. Ive loved the place since my first trip!
I loved Mt Lemmon and lived in Tucson for a brief time. My ex husband just passed away in Tucson love & miss it there Illinois cant compare to this beauty!!!
One of my old hang outs when I was stationed at Davis=Monthan Air Base. Loved driving up the hill.
My wife and I are moving from New Hampshire to Tucson the end of Nov. The top of Mount Lemmon looks just like the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We were down there a couple years ago and fell in love with the desert, we did not know anything about Lemmon. Thank you for the video
Rick Lawrence I moved from Rhode Island to Tucson in the 80 and practically lived on Mt. Lemmon on my days off.
Awesome vlog dear very nice I enjoyed watching 👍❤
thank you
Thank you! Appreciate the thoroughness- been there several times when I lived in Tucson, really a great resource. Like how you did the whole drive in context and your narration.
me and my friends ditched class our senior year to see the snow in MT lemmon it was great
@GearBuyersGuide You can not imagine how much we are looking forward to living down there. Thank you very my for replying to my post.
Rick
I love Tucson and Mt.Lemmon. I am now in Miami Fl. and miss the Tucson area. The movie The Wraith some parts where fillmed at Mt.Lemmon, I will be back someday.
i live in tucson and I enjoy Mt. lemmon is cool...
what year did the Mt.Lemon have a traffic light
I had the opportunity to take the rural route up to Mount Lemmon which was an experience in itself. It took me Approximately 3 1/2 hours over rocks and boulders.
I miss this place this mountain and the friends I made there. I should never have left!
+wesley mccurtain you should be glad you did. Tucson is where dreams come to an end.
+Pibbles 'n Bits not true
Yes, mount lemmon is nice but moving on and making new friends is a part of life. People tend to stay where they are comfortable. Real growth happens when you get out of your bubble. Be glad that you left.
Thank you for the memories. I climbed that mountain base to summit back in the 80s. the whole this was like my playground. then there was the say trips just to go rock climbing. my favorite to climb was Hitchcocks hardon. from Vista there where the tourists would gaze onto Tucson to the right was a cliff I liked to repel down. you would have a gental slope for about 75 feet or so then it went concave to below the treeline. I would once in a while scream like crazy and get the tourists thinking I fell haha. good times and wish I was still able to do that stuff.
this video really took me back and reminded me the reason why I love AZ so much!!! Thanks for the video and taking me back to my old memories I shared on Mt. Lemmon:)
Driving up Mt. Lemmon is awesome. I made the trip once on 07/04/07, it was 111 degrees at the base and 74 degrees at the top. Soo awesome to see the flora and fauna change as you go up. There's a little town called Summerhaven near the top too if you go up the mountain from the south...
I've been in Phoenix 10 years and have wanted to visit Mt. Lemmon but was never sure what was up there. Thanks for the great video all around.
wow that was really thorough and interesting. awesome video man. thanks for posting it
very informative...thanks for sharing
Great video! Last time I checked Summerhaven was a village. I lived there for six years.
Thanks for posting this! I have been wanting to get up there lately and have not had the time.
Cool vid! That's very beautiful country and I enjoyed the history lesson. Man, I live in the midwest, all flat land and very boring. This scenery makes me want to move, but that dreaded thing called, a job, keeps me here. Thanks for posting.
@Ricklawrence
glad you enjoyed it, I hope you have a great time here, it's a great town
love mt lemmon ! so beautiful !
Thanks for this video, lived in Tucson in late 60's and early 70's, spent many days hiking all over mt Lemon, and camping on the back side.
great video, very informative thank you!
Awesome vid. I've biked all the way up to summerhaven 5 times and didn't know half the info you gave us. Next time I'll have a little more background on the mountain and think about it when I'm killing myself to get to the top haha
The small lake is an Urban pond called lakeside park in Tucson, It has Bass, panfish, catfish, and trout, it's 13 acres. Last March I caught a 20" Rainbow trout in Lakeside and an Eight pond bass was caught the same day and it's 1 mile from my house.
Very beautiful drive, like the one going up Mt Graham.
Very interesting liked it a lot
Thank you!
Great video, Thanks guys
Thanks for the video
@zoolanderfred
I grew up in the 'flatlands'.. so I know what you mean
I think that's why I like these mountains so much
i love mt. lemmon
i live here in tucson.....
I live in Tucson and just went camping in MT. Lemmon. They lifted the fire ban for this summer
right on
wow! so many things going on with this place! thank you for sharing, i enjoyed it.
curious what video camera you were using and also what happened when you said it cut out on you?
It is very much IN Tucson, along with the other two of the THREE urban lakes we have
Silverbell, Mission and Lakeside ..
Hey I saw a ufo on one of the seens at the end . cool bro you got one and you havent seen it . good video
I used to live In Rio Rico . one hour away from there but i always go in december there :) to catch snow
About 4-5 months ago but still had a blast:)
Very nice job!
Funny thing is that Tucson is not that far from Phoenix but I guess wherever you are on the mountain must put a bit more distance between the two cities.
If you think about it,Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley is the Southern most snow ski resort in the U.S. with all the amenities.You should do a drive through like this to Chiricahua National Monument,Very mythical place to visit.
Very beautiful
Great vid! i love mt lemmon!, i didnt know there was an f-86 crash up there?, do you know what trail will take you to it? i know u said most of them do, but theres a lot of trails haha
I am going to hike there one day but mount lemon is cool
We have three good size lakes IN tucson, and many smaller around town
@SquareBooth29
cool, glad to meet locals via the web
cool vid,! mt lemon is a really fun road, i didnt know there was a f-86 crash up there? do u know which trail will exactly take you to it?
@4ulefties
LOL, I haven't watched that one in a long time, thanks for the reminder, I'll see if it's on Netflix
very interesting
I was there with my x-wife and made a start of birth for my first girl kid. She is now in Sydney Australia
working after her graduation.
@panchodaman
A few years earlier than me.. I don't know the last time you visited, but it's changed a bit over the years
OMG I LIVE IN TUCSON!!!
+ButeraFor LIFE you poor soul.......I had to pass through the gates of hell to enterTucson. Didn't take long to realize that it's where dreams come to an end.
+Pibbles 'n Bits so do you live in Tucson?
Unfortunately, yes. It's not necessarily by choice. I will be leaving as soon as I am done getting my master's degree. On a more serious and more positive note, the hiking and mt lemmon are very nice. It's just that living by the university and seeing all the greed in this city breaks my heart.
+Pibbles 'n Bits oh I'm sorry.
strawberry treats I live in Tucson too
It's not 'in' Tucson, it is north of the city on the way to Mt.Lemmon. There are also lakes west,east and south btw. Cheers
@soggy9
Sure, it's only like 2 miles off the main road, look upo the exact location on the web.. searc for the blog from the guy who owns summit hut (I think thats whre I found the best direstions)
You go up the road, off on to the trail, then two miles up the trail, then go off trail for the last part to find the wreckage .. Good luck !!
Please take pics and post them so we can all see what it looks like now
@Noahyay
doh, you missed the one moment of snow we had this year too
I would encourage you to try to get them to take you up there three or four times this year, to see the changes over the seasons
IM HEADING HERE TODAY :D
@3alazagg
Welcome to Arizona. Tucson is a great city, there are safer and less safe areas of town like anywhere of course. But overall a very family friendly place
Let us know what you think once you've experienced Tucson !!
@GearBuyersGuide Yea i like it :) At nights the smell of trees is awswome
what year did Mt.Lemon have traffic light on . it!?. got a bet going iam rigjt and i dont drive or have a license
that was a long time ago for sure, in the 1990s IIRC
@SweatStealth204
Yup, Butterfly, it's close to the upper end. Google for it and you'll find the owner of Summit Hut did a great blog entry on it and how / where to find it
We'll be headed up there soon too
Great video, but why does it look like your all over the road when driving. lol looks like you are swirving in and out of both lanes.
Good video like always though.
@PGRANDIER
what does that mean?
That parking area at 2:24 is where the van is just look down lol. Must have sucked to be in it when it crashed off the cliff...
@GearBuyersGuide Yeah it was sad too see the fire burning from Tucson:( But it will always get better!
A plane crashed there? I'm trying to find it on google maps. I just know there's an old 70's van at the bottom when you get to the tiled viewpoint you can see it way down there
also there is a ZERO tollerance for speeding. i was pulled over with a friend on our streetbikes but only got a warning for doing 57 in a 35!! but the sherrif's brother was friends with my father. Tucsons kinda a small place but you gotta love it!!
@luiscarlos789
oh you mean what altitude?
hi guys, I will be moving to Tucson soon from Australia, and just wondering is it safe? nice? i mean whats good and messed up about it? thanks
i live in oro valley. i think im going to go see that aircraft (u said b-57?) i need something to do bad >.< any ideas on where it is on the road leading to mt. lemmon?
Did u ever find it, the FS86
@@shalicgraw5280 yea i found a wheel & the engine with my guys long ago
@DaveyD4419
I was using the JVC Evrio, it was just out of battery and it cut me off in mid sentence (but wasn't anything imortant)
My name is Lemmon. funny stuff
OMG !!! You are going wayyy too fast for those road conditions !!! What's wrong with you !!??
AR15cuz BlackGunsMATTER it’s time lapse 😂
@KURGAN44
There was still lots of snow obviously, but with the rain today, I bet a lot melted
@music70princess
howdy neighbor !!
Hello I'm Italian and I live in Italy since birth. How did they kill him?
@RICKY1155SPONGEBOB
Cool, I've been through Rio Rico quite a few times
i dont know which route you took. I drove from scottdale to Mt. Lemon route 77 and i went only 7 miles on 9/13/14
and it was all dirt road and i could not make it and i turn back and came home safe. I advice people, go only in 4x4 and go in group. I went alone i my toyota camary and thank God I turn back safe and sound. i would not go again on the dirt road.
LOL! 'You can't get there from here' applies. Coming from the north - no way (except off-road vehicles) - you need to go around the mountain & go through Tucson. Then go up the Mt Lemmon Hwy. See Google maps..
Scottsdale explains it all.
Is the road 2 lanes all the way now.
what is that in the sky about minute 8:31? is it something flying ?
+Miguel Quinones that was just an alien ship landing .. nothing worth ruining my video with
it's a flying dick watch out
Miguel Quinones I didn't fall for it ;)
what was that Flying Saucer looking thing at 6:40, 6:50, 6:58, and then again at 8:17
sun
2 Guys 1 mountain?? alone??
Santa Catalina Mountains = Originally known by the Tohono O'odham Nation as Babad Do'ag, ... It's always good to be reminded of the Great Saints of the Catholic Faith. But, calling the mountains the Bah-Bads would inspire adventurers. The challenge was lost with the name change.
The wraith !
When I were middle of mt. lemon 1998, I saw crash fall down the car under the deep valley more than 400m from the road level. I thought can rescue team there.
Michael Kim I have pulled a couple people from these crashes
coool
Hey I live here.
@Noahyay hello I can help you well you might have been there alredy but if you havent were going there this friday
At 6:49, what is that in the sky?

+YUZVIN MIRANDA that wasn't a sun..
It might be a alien ship :/
i got it at 6:01 by the way . I miss that desert but not the people and traffic. And thats was my home town and is crazy. I left 16 years ago. We have a lot of this stuff up here. But we have yellow stone to contend with. 6:45 ok i will look.
