Hi there, under the descendants of the descendant are entitled to benefit section, if the descendant renounces ... doesn't the benefit go to the surviving spouse in terms of S1(6) and not their decendant

It depends. If there’s a surviving spouse, it will go to the surviving spouse. If there’s no surviving spouse, the descendants will be entitled to inherit per stirpes ☺️
