What I did to position myself to get headhunted 😊 So, cat is out the bag! I have been headhunted and relocated to start a new role as a lecturer! This has obviously been the goal but it happened in a way I didn’t even think was possible. On top of that, it happened quicker than I thought it would. But, it didn’t just fall on my lap. There were things I consistently did over months that led to t...

There's a Bill sitting in Parliament called the "Domestic Partnership Bill" waiting to be signed as it will give Life partners some of the same benefits of married people😂such as the duty to support. And there has been some case Law that has granted some benefits of the duty to support to cohabiting partners, wonder when will the Law regarding this topic develop since Family Law does acknowledge that as the times keep moving the Law also needs to evolve🤔
This series is really out here saving people's careers!!🙏🏼🙌🤞🏼👌🥰❤
😂 hahaha actually 😅💯
Thank you so much Shela for this series 🙏🏽 I’m already admitted but looking to pivot. Thank you to Lerato as well, really enjoyed watching this interview.
You’re most welcome 🤗
I am also going to watch this again perhaps 4/5 times, wawu. The lecturer is so informative, and very very detailed, really sounded like I was in class getting a lesson. Thank you for bringing her. Future Dean of law faculty indeed, she is going there
I have no doubt about that 🔥 🔥 🔥 and I’m so glad this episode has shed light on your path 😀
Hello Cc, So does one have to go to law school after graduating with LLB?, i mean to be in a similar environment like Daniel...
No, only LLB.
@shelateffo Allright, thanks
Hi very informative lecture, May you please do another video on drafting of contracts
Thank you so much for this series, very eye opening ❤️❤️
You’re most welcome 🤗
I seriously love this. Keep up the good work. Because yasis me being a 28 year old first year at UWC. I did not want to do articles because I feel like I'm so old already. But I kept up with these episodes, and I seriously love that there are more opportunities other than practising as an attorney or advocate. Well done
Thank you so much, I am grateful to be an instrument to your enlightenment 🥹🙏🏽
Very informative and enlightening 🎉
❤️
Is it advisable to just use the notes to prepare for exam?
No. You have to go over the whole syllabus from the LPC 🌸
@ is the syllabus for next year exams out yet? If not how would you advise me to start preparing for paper 1 without having to read the whole manuals from law school? #hidesbehindthecurtain🫣
Thank you so much Shela. Very informative channel. I subscribed immediately. This channel with allow me to apply for many jobs that are not traditional route when it comes to the law degree.
That’s heartwarming ☺️ I’m so glad this channel has been a source of light for you 🙏🏽 I’m humbled

I really enjoyed this episode, it was so informative thank you so much for bringing Nosipho to share her experience🙏🏾. I’m a second year LLB student and I’m so not interested in pursuing articles. I love to see other people in non-traditional legal careers.
You’re most welcome 😁
Thank you for this Shela. I actually went to Varsity with Shirley (that's what we used to call her back in varsity) we both studied law together ❤️ Congratulations to her for making it this big 🎉

I love this episode So much and I am done yet watching it. I like raw, honest conversations about the struggle in the profession and finding your way to area of law that one discovers and are passionate about. Not a lot of these conversations are out there so thank you for it!👏🌷🙏🏽
Riiiiiight?!? Thank you so much for that 🤍
Can you go into the Insurance field with a Higher Certificate in Law ???
Really enjoyed watching this. And I am definitely going to grab the nuggets pertaining to lecturing. Although I know I don't want to lecture law, I do want to end up lecturing. Thank you for this.
So glad it was helpful! :D
You are the best ❤
🥹🙏🏽
Thank you so much for this informative talk🙏 Shela I don't think Thando ended up mentioning how one can actually go about applying for such positions like the one that she is currently in? (She went only so far as outlining what she used to get into her job) Could she kindly direct us on where exactly one can look for job opportunities in her exact field?
Hi! It’s the normal job searching sites like LinkedIn, Pnet etc. if you’re looking to work for International companies, I’d highly recommend LinkedIn. All the best!
Which university did you pursue both your degrees ?
She did her BCom law at North West Uni and her LLB at UNISA
Thank you Shela. Very informative. I'm a final year student and I don't see myself in practice.
Which sector are you leaning towards?
❤❤
So proud of you Thando ♥️
Thank you Asi 🫂❤️

Bathong I’m just trying not to be weird 🤣🫣 but I’m so happy you enjoyed the episode
What's this Shella is it a person who studied law and IT?😅
I didn't study IT. It isn't necessary for you to study IT to pivot into Legal Technology
@Ratie89 I'll watch the video Ratie. I'm in awe, keep up the great work.
This series is everything💯. I am going to share this in the board exam groups. So many of us have invested so much on our studies but yet have tunnel vision on what to do with it. Hopefully I will be able to apply this information and comeback with a testimony. A million thanks ❤️
🎯💯
This series is helping me out so much. By next year, I will know what to do with this degree. Thank you so much
This is soooooo heartwarming ❤️ I’m soo glad you’re finding this content insightful 🥹
I wish I could write tomorrow, it's the only one left! 😔 Thank you so much Shela for this 💗
Hi Shela, I have been using your videos to study for LEADS exams and since then I have been passing my exams after failing them. Thank you so much for your help and may God bless you abundantly. Please make a video on Paper 4 questions so that we can use it to practice for board exam.
Thank you soooo much, I appreciate it 🥹🙏🏽
Does someone who represent themselves need license of practice
No. If you don’t have legal representation, you can choose to represent yourself
Hi Shela ide love an interview with a paralegal i graduated last year.
Can't wait to watch this. Thank you so much for the eye-opening career choices in the legal space Shela. You truly are the Bestie we need in law ❤️
What a heartwarming comment! Thank you Bestie ❤️❤️

You Queens are really inspiring and ooze brilliance which is exactly what the next generation needs to hear. Alison also offers a lot of certificates and diplomas in various fields which coild make one's CV stand out
Thank you so much for this 💯🙌🏾
I love how knowledgeable you are and your passion for inclusivity really touched my heart as that is something extremely close to my heart as equality won't get us far without equity
❤️❤️❤️
💗💗
Thank you for this helpful information ❤appreciated
You’re most welcome ☺️ thank you for watching
This has been so informative. I resonate with the idea of not ending up as a practicing attorney. I am currently teaching in South Korea and I think due to the over saturatedness of legal graduates we need to start taking our communication skills outside of practice and look for work or create work in other instances where there is a demand. The legal degree can take you to so many directions.
Spot on 🎯 💯
Thank you soo much for reminding us that there are endless opportunities out there for us. 🙏🏽
You’re most welcome 🤗
This is very informative. I'm accepted for B Com (Law) at Unisa and I'm currently working as an accountant. This is a topic I've been looking for.
Such a heartwarming comment 🥹 thank you! And congratulations on your admission 👏🏾
