This trip to Alamo lake is a good start to get me interested. I've driven by the turn off to the lake through Salome several times every year going to my sisters place in California from Paulden.
Hopefully I'll get to see it for myself soon.

Nice lake in my opinion. Several trails lead into it from both sides. Anytime you can camp or drive around water is good by me. Appreciate you watching! Thank you.

I haven't been out to Alamo in about 20 years. Has cell reception improved (Verizon)? Used to be nothing lol. Anyway, great video and glad you got the chance to get out there. Camping by the water in the desert is really something to experience (oxymoron only us desert dwellers would understand). I wish you well in your personal endeavor to get out of the office! We're in our 50's and almost there ourselves. The calculator says "Close, just not quite yet..." lol. Oh, and before the week gets away from me, let me wish you and yours, and all of your subscribers and viewers a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! We're hosting supper for 15 this year! Lots to be thankful for this year. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL & WRXY843

You should get out there again soon. Cell service wasn't bad and I have Verizon. Few areas it goes away though depending where you are at. Thanks for watching as always! Sounds like you will have a big meal prep going on this week at your home. Enjoy Thanksgiving and we will do the same! Thanks, Pete!

Oh man! Thanks again for your vids on this place. Finally got out there to your exact spot over 3 days including New Year's day. All went well except the drive home through Phoenix when my single axle trailer blew a tire with my sxs on it and it took out the fender but got home safe.
Out there we saw 2 groups of burros. Did Maggie's Slot, McGuffy's Cabin, Palmerita Ranch, Mud Cliffs and left Swansea off the itinerary. Did a couple hours fishing. All in all a wonderful place and we honestly would have never heard about it let alone gone there if it weren't for this exact video and your follow up. Thank you much.

And yes, we actually got our low clearance trailer with sxs on it to your spot. Only lightly dragged one area. First hit the wrong spot, though nice, just northeast of your spot. Saw the part where you needed momentum to get up the climb and we just doubled back and took the easier route to your spot. Great spot.

We even hit the Wayside Oasis on the way out. Good eats and good bloody Mary. 3 planes took off from the runway. Place was packed. SXS haven. LOTS of trails throughout the entire area. Diesel heater worked a treat in the RTT.

@@explore_x_ I'd have to come from the Phoenix side of things. I see that way you're met with paid camping sites and I'm not sure if you can get to the north side of things, but I haven't looked. Many spots on the upper southeast side but not sure where you're allowed to dry camp for free vs not or trespass vs not... I'm all about the sxs life but just getting into overlanding. LOTS to learn...

@ Just before the public camping area turn right on Browns Xing Rd. Take that about 1.5 miles then turn left to trail that will take you to the lake area. That is how I go in. You can follow some of those trails and takes you to those fingers. Going in off main road probably works just fine too.
