Prophecy was fulfilled - Spear of light piercing hatred's heart - She pierced his heart (full of hatred) with his spear of light (his weapon from the heavens!)
He clearly stabs her in thr stomach, well bellow the chest. Not even close to the heart. Hes a dumbasss, he then turns his back and cries
Ah the prophecy makes sense now. The heart of hatred was referring to Inarius’ all along. As Mephisto said later in the game, he has refined hatred in Inarius’ heart. The writing is this game is not perfect but it has its wonderful moments.
Does it bother nobody else that the door opens inward, despite the ornate door decorations wouldn't allow it to do that?

@@jthwang Those big door decorations would have just awkwardly bumped into each other, causing the door to not open at all.
Which would have made for a funny scene of Lilith just standing there going "REALLY?!" at a door that cracked open at the most an inch and refused to move anymore.

That was my first guess, but considering that Inarius cannot be the heart of hatred, for that would be Mephisto, I would rather say that he’s Lilliths (daughter of Hatred) heart

I mean the prophecy fits Mephisto better considering he's "Lord of Hatred". The question is whether this spear would cause a death or "the Death" a final death.
"Spear of light" is considered the soul stone I think :)

Inarus was nerfed, and what a bummer fight against Lilith
he nerfed himself, at doubting his actions, he started to feel despair and loose his focus on lilith, and he was aprisioned long centuries by mephisto, long ago, not in his perfect mind i suppose, also lilith is not any lesser demon, she is fisrt daughter of Mephisto, a PRIME EVIL, so she can really kill an angel, and she uses his holy weapon, very normal things seeing the situation.

Even though he is a great warrior, I didn't have the state of mind to fight correctly and kill Lilith correctly.

Maybe, but consider this:
He had corrupted the Council of Zacharum, the descendants of the original Cathedral of Light, and this the most pious and zealous worshippers of Light in Sanctuary, converted all of Kurast into a jungle hell. All of act 3 is going through what should have been the biggest city in all of Sanctuary, reclaimed by jungle in an alarmingly short time, possibly mere weeks before Diablo 1.
After corrupting the entirety of the Zacharum order and creating the jungle hell, he also exerted a lot of energy in tearing open the gateway to Hell, not an easy feat at all.
So yeah, we face him at pretty much the weakest point one could face a Prime Evil.
In lore, Mephisto is terrifyingly strong, and cunning to boot, being immensely powerful in his ability to influence everyone and everything and manipulate them into following his schemes.
He engineered the Exile, he set helped to devise the plans to have the Horadrim try to use the Soulstones, which only anchored the primes in Sanctuary, and allowed them to take powerful hosts, not imprisoned them.
Pretty much everything that happened in Diablo 1 and 2 was his doing, including trucking you into wasting time taking Diablo on when Baal was going after the Worldstone, and he manipulated everyone in Diablo 4 into playing right into his hands to get rid of the two greatest threats to himself and the other Primes and bring his full essence into Sanctuary.
That's why he's a big deal, because his power is less screaming and roaring, and more making people do his bidding without realising what's even happening.
Inarius was the most weakest drama queen of the angels so far. He couldn't kill Lilith and he died screaming and crying as if he was applying for a drama actress job in a telenovela.
He captured the hearts and minds of soap loving abuelas everywhere

Serious though. Lilith and Inarius seem more human, than the other archangels and great evils. Because in lore we were made in their image.
Inarius truly is nothing without his Worldstone.
And even when he had it in age spast, he got bodied by a human.
Blizzard really knows how to violate fans. They messed up Arthas's story in WOW, and now after all the hype surrounding Inarius they turned him into a weak groveling fool. You would think after millennia of being tortured and knowing how Lilith was, mere words would not be enough to doubt himself. What a waste of time.
He made humans after all.
100% disagree, it would have been boring to have another righteous anger. Was great to see an angel who on the outside is holy actually have hatred and selfishness is in his own heart, which was his own undoing. Love Inarious’ character and it was unique writing. Lilith was also a complex and interesting villain. All of it is much better than evil Diablo wants to kill and righteous Tyreal wants to save

Inarius was sick with hate and poisoned by arragence, his pride and bitterness was reflected in the cathedral of lights actions: hopful but blinded by self-righteousness, religious but unjustly and lacking mercy, proud and unwilling to accept the possibility that the path they walk could very well be leading them to darkness...
