Ali called out "Hyeong", which is a very special honorific you give to an older male you're very close to or your actual older brother. Knowing this while watching Ali looking like a lost little brother calling out for his older brother, makes the scene even more intensely emotional for those of us who understand what "Hyeong" means.
Among many things I find brilliant about this particular episode... I love the sunset. It reminds me of when you're a kid playing with your friend all day outside in a neighborhood just like that, and seeing the sky redden as the sun slowly sets and you get this dreadful feeling in your gut because you know - you have to say bye to your friend soon to head home. It's a simple little detail but it imbues this episode with that atmosphere.
@@lifeinnature8751 I know. What I'm saying is regardless of her not having anything, she still did not worry about her own life. I mean she did ask Sae Byeok first about her life to check if Sae Byeok had something to live for. If Sae Byeok had nothing to live for, I don't think Ji Yeong would care who lives between the two of them, but since Sae Byeok did, Ji Yeong gave up her life instead.
Ali wasn't gullible. Ali trusted the man who gave him money so that he wouldn't have to walk home. he trusted the man who went out of his way to help him make a phone call. the same man..who told him to call him "hyung". Sangwoo was the only one showing him kindness, and they bonded during the game. they shared their stories. He didnt want to think ..this same man was conning him. trusting? yes. kind hearted? loyal? yes. gullible.? no. and the LOOK.. on ali's face..when he realizes he has been lied to.. that his trust had been misplaced.. is heartbreaking.
Your perspective of gullible is easily switched with "trusting/loving". Ali was naive of course, but he wanted to trust his "friend" who protected him and helped him outside of the game as well. Ali wasnt an idiot for trying to see the good in people. He was simply naive for looking past the evil in all people.
Soooo emotional and intense episode of friendship, betrayal and sacrifice! Ali is just naive (he is NOT stupid, please) with a kind heart... the bondage started when SangWoo allowed Ali to call him Hyung means "Older Brother"... Oh well, there goes the trust and betrayal when life is at stake 😢
After Squid Game, people start watching another hot Korean joint on Netflix called My Name. It's doing numbers and getting good reviews. I am watching it right now and I love the main character. Shawty training hard in the gym and can probably kick any man's butt if she wants to! Lol.
Even though I've watch it all - I still get choked up at this episode... Also, it'll come clear in the next episode - but there was a husband and wife team - as well. One had to kill the other to continue the "game"...
Sangwoo is that type of person that has no regards for anyone but himself, you can see it through the whole series. He has no one on the outside he remotely cares about, he even refuses to help his poor mother out and lies to her to keep his own pride. He totally disregard other peoples hardship even after finding out 199 had a newborn he wanted to give a better life. Compare that to the girl that literally sacrificed herself because she knew she would still have nothing if she would have won anyways and therefore wanted someone else experience things they've missed out on during their lifetime.
What are you talking about he gave Ali the money for the bus ride and even let him borrow his phone and about his mother this is the reason why he was in squid game the first place as we hear in the end before he died he said gi hun please take care of my mother.
I’m not much of a TV show binger or afficiado in any way. However, I do not think I have seen a 60 minute movie, show, etc. that literally made me feel very emotion possible. Guilt, anger, pain, humility, sadness, hopeful, embarrassed, jealous, hopeless, empty, cautious, guilty, confused, etc. - it’s like fuck when a show or film does not go out of the way to tell you how to feel you all of a sudden find deeper meaning in a piece of entertainmen. Squid game episode 6 was a masterpiece- and should be recognized for many years. Not for flashy visuals or original storytelling- just for how it made you question your own humanity and wondered how far could you go to save you’re own ass.

As well as you reacting to "Squid Game" I have been following Alexandra Olesen - her and her sister are both watching it and they are half Korean (but speak English amazingly well). They are interesting to follow because they look at it from a Korean viewpoint. Here is their reaction to the first episode... th-cam.com/video/rCJpJ_fnNPE/w-d-xo.html - For example, the woman with the cigarette lighter... her name in Korean means "Beauty" in English. In part 4 when subtitles say that the men say "She's not worth the effort" the actual translation from Korean is "What a waste of a name"
they didn't say cheating it's wrong, of course is morally wrong but not in the game. their life are in the game, they would do anything to get out alive and there's nothing wrong with wanting TO BE Alive and NOT GET KILLED

Nice? Show me three instances where he was nice. GH had many instances where we felt that he was a kind soul. Ali did not except for saving GH. Ali made fun of tha annoying woman by mimicking her and he accepted SH partnership when he knew that SW and GH were childhood friends. Were these actions that of a nice person?

That's because puppies could grow into big vicious dogs and maul people.
