My Netgear router does the trick for the IP address - would be good to see the demonstration - dont know why i never thought of using multiple browsers.. thnx. Then again the laptop is old (dell vostro 1500) and running vms6000 - friend told me about vms1000. RAM is 4 gigs - dual core 1.4. Do you think i should upgrade or just get a newer machine and try to see if it will stop freezing after a while? btw no switch was used - just straight to the laptop. I also connected 2 ip cams via the faithful netgear router. Need your feedback if possible thnx
4 gigs RAM & dual core 1.4 is quite low specs. Consider what you use the laptop for & if the current one is able to accomplish it. Factor in your budget. Can you afford a new one? The freezing can be various issues: viruses, bad RAM, too many apps running, defective HDD, etc. If you can afford a new system get one.
