Man Ed can sing with anyone and it'd be Perfect. Ed is one of the best singer-songwriters of our time. I would do almost anything to meet him. I hope to see him in his Divide Tour.
Yeah, this is poetry. Ed loves hip hop and rap. He said in his book A Visual Journey that Collaborations EP is one of the best EPs that he has ever recorded.
This is my fifth listen, this song is extraordinary, it completely takes you away, it feels like a timeless Deep South story, what a great collaboration
It's even worse because most of the posts call this "Ed Sheeran ft Yelawolf" Sheeran was the one who wanted to do it with Yela. Before this Yela had never heard of him.
If they are anything like me they could just need time. I could not stand Yelawolf up until about six months ago EXCEPT for one song 'Til It's Gone. I was binge-watching SoA and I loved the song. I think that is large in part due to whoever made the decision to place that song where he placed it. That person was very good at picking and placing the perfect song where they did. It could be a song from a genre that I typically would not care for but I would like it at that moment because of how well it was placed. Anyways...about five years ago Yelawolf was touring and was scheduled to be in this dinky college town I was going to school at so I thought I should give him more of a listen to see if I should get a ticket. A co-worker showed me a tracks and I just couldn't get into it. I hated it actually. Fast-forward to six months ago, someone posted Yelawolf's Daylight on a friend's FB page and I proceeded to write basically what I just wrote. After I got done making the post I decided to give the song a listen and I discovered that there were now two Yelawolf songs I really liked. To make what is already a long story...shorter...I gave his music another shot and he is easily on my list of favorite musicians/artists/bands. It's amazing how one's sense of hearing can change in the course of a few years. What at one point sounded like crap to me, I now enjoy the heck out of. My brother said it best when he said, "Yelawolf went from being a rapper to an artist after joining Shady's label." I know, I know TL;DR...jus' my two pennies
The Kid On Mars who says they don’t like Yela? I have only been recently introduced and he is already one of my favorites. Versatile, with a unique style and a voice that works perfect with it. Also he doesn’t try to be like anyone else, which is rare nowadays.
see if you can listen to this without tappin your foot or moving your head!! I loved this first time I heard it and I still come back to it..They are awesome together..Yela is just awesome, love it that hes from my boring little town and just kept on till his dream came true . Gadsden ALABAMA won't ever have that happen again BC it's still in the Bible Belt which will never change. Beautiful place but bound and determined to stay the same. I take back one thing, SHAWTTY FATT was about to sail from Gadsden but he went home too soon too young. He is missed greatly by his family& friends.. So so sad.. R.I.P. SHAWTTY
lol first time hearing this and yep ironically i was bouncing my leg up and down swaying around just as i started to read your post...You NAILED IT! And on a side note, this song and the duo and the story is flippin awesome
I was thinking exactly the same man. Always when i hear this song i'm like forced to imagine this! This song has so much flair, the same for the whole EP...
WTF, I randomly stumble upon this collab ALBUM in 2022?! I completely went over it when it released thinking Yela made an album with some nonamer... and look where we are now lol. Holy hsit
Lyrics: [Verse 1: Yelawolf] There wasn’t much left Except for the last twenty sack And the last twenty of my last cheque I took a pill and went to sleep on the last step Woke up and took it in with a half breath Then a deep sigh, I struck a matchstick I lit my cigarette, feeling half dead Whisky on my mind, then came the debt Sheriff in the yard, here comes the rest I sat like a ghost, they all passed by My girl cried 'baby this’ll be my last bye' Baby in her arms, she took a cab home She told me I was only good for a sad song A crooked smile I gave, nonchalant about it Maybe she’ll come back, this time I doubt it Act like I care, but I really don’t Wanted to change but somehow I knew I really won’t See I’m the type of man who can’t stay out the bottle If the sun is out I’d rather be in the shadow Sadness is like a wound that I can’t heal Maybe I love blood, I just let it spill And I never turned to church for a praying hand God’s not going to lend another saving hand If the time came like it has time again Then I would watch the clock, and be late again One gun and a harley in the driveway One way out, dirt road pathway Put another dead butt in the ash tray I stand up still drunk, half baked Cover my eyes from the bright morning sun blaring And through the fence I can see this little boy staring Paid him no attention, in fact I barely seen him Until he walked away, and he started singing… [Hook: Ed Sheeran] London Bridge is falling down, falling down And if it don’t stop falling, then all of us will drown Then we’ll crash, crash, right down again Oh we’ll crash, crash, right down again [Verse 2: Yelawolf] I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t see the wall And I went from running to a slow crawl I feel like I’m a child, but I’m afraid to cry Would say I’m okay, but I’m afraid to lie I speak no evil, but hear no angels My family is callin’, but all I see is strangers Take the bible from the hotel drawer Hell froze over, ice cold, hell’s door, knock-knock, I’m on the salt road non-stop The exit I will pass ’cause the sign did rot In the gust of a dry summer Dirty water in the tap, I think I found my number in the sand Right next to an empty can Old number seven, Jack is back again And the voice goes round and round And I would take the bridge but I can’t forget the sound [Hook: Ed Sheeran] London Bridge is falling down, falling down And if it don’t stop falling, then all of us will drown Then we’ll crash, crash, right down again Oh we’ll crash, crash, right down again [Hook 2: Ed Sheeran] I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground Running from the law but I can’t be found Only my God can track me down I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground Running from the law but I can’t be found Only my God can track me down I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground Running from the law but I can’t be found Only my God can track me down I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground Running from the law but I can’t be found Only my God can track me down [Half-Hook: Ed Sheeran] And we’ll crash, crash right down again Oh we’ll crash, crash right down again [Hook 2: Ed Sheeran] I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground Running from the law but I can’t be found Only my God can track me down I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground Running from the law but I can’t be found Only my God can track me down I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
@MrBadavidson9 I have both and I prefer trunk music to the 0-60, stereo is good but I think I prefer his songs when they're his own beats not sampled, although box chevy pt 2 on that album is so good!
these aren't lyrics, this is poetry.
For real bro
Every good rapper is a poet at heart, if you rap and aren't into poetry then youre going to struggle.
@@kaylagoodell3145 yeah man. i think it’s in trial by fire wolf mentions getting into music and then starting to write poetry
Nope they're both.
I still love this song 🥺 so underrated
SOOOOOOOOOO fucking underrated :(
Man Ed can sing with anyone and it'd be Perfect. Ed is one of the best singer-songwriters of our time. I would do almost anything to meet him. I hope to see him in his Divide Tour.
We need this song and The EP on spotify! And The album hotel
Yela is taking rap to a new level by mashing rock and melody and the sound is epic. Love his work!
Yeah, this is poetry. Ed loves hip hop and rap. He said in his book A Visual Journey that Collaborations EP is one of the best EPs that he has ever recorded.
I don't want to be that person but this song isn't from the No. 5 Collaborations projects, it's actually from the Slumdon Bridge Ep :p
This is my fifth listen, this song is extraordinary, it completely takes you away, it feels like a timeless Deep South story, what a great collaboration
People saying they don't like yela's part need to appreciate poetry
I totally agree. Yelawolf raps pure poetry.
It's even worse because most of the posts call this "Ed Sheeran ft Yelawolf" Sheeran was the one who wanted to do it with Yela. Before this Yela had never heard of him.

Chat shit get banged
That opinion is judging a true story what a fuckboy
It's so hard to come by lyrics so honest and real these days. I treasure this kind of music.
Yelawolf never disappoints! He just gets better and better
Wow, Ed Sheeran & Yelawolf actually make a great compilation. This song is great :-)
Its one of those songs where you look out the bus window and reflect and start having philosophical thoughts
What a time this was back then ❤️
That "I'll be coming up when the sun goes down" part gives me chills each time.
probably on of the best songs I've heard in years. So dark and beautiful.....
Yela gets a lot of hate that I don't understand but he is one of my favourite rappers and I am a huge fan of Ed Sheeran so this is a great EP for me
The Kid On Mars who says they don’t like Yela? I have only been recently introduced and he is already one of my favorites. Versatile, with a unique style and a voice that works perfect with it. Also he doesn’t try to be like anyone else, which is rare nowadays.
@@SK371 did you hear the new ghetto cowboy album?
this is so underrated
Yela killin it as usual
Yela is the only rapper that could tell such an amazing story and still be so real and deep.
This song deserve more views!!
Love Ed Sheeran and never even heard Yelawolf but amazing artist by far!!!!!! Love it and has me hooked for sure. :D
This just unlocked deep memories. 2012 on tumblr this was art
This is one of those tunes that will make an artist!
Scientifically proven to be the best Ed Sheeran song

Yelawolf is seriously the most underrated rapper!
Why haven't i heard this before? It's amazing, holy shit
A premonition of what fire by trial would sound like. Brilliant
I was just melting when i heard ed's voice omg
I was thinking exactly the same man. Always when i hear this song i'm like forced to imagine this!

Yeah sick shit ed sheeran and yelawolf are two legends 10 years later
You gotta love Ed Sheeran.
Yelawolf sounds pretty amazing as well. :)
This just turned into one of my favorite songs.
i'm not too familiar with Sheeran but omg i freakin love this song!! always nice to know real music is still here.
Such vivid imagery in those lyrics
this song is the best song in the world
Best collaboration ever!!!!! amazing
Yela a legend in the making ... dude is Dope .....
Yela gives all evidence in this track that he follows his family's steps, his uncle was a story teller and now Yela is continuing it. Great.
i can't listen to this without feeling an extreme urge to dance and clap near the end.
I love this song so much!! The beat is epic!!
the best collaboration I've heard!!
Edd is a ginger Elvis...inside everyone there is a bit of Elvis..x
How is that?
Ed's honeyed voice is the best part for me.....eargasim.
Just make a playlist and put this song in there twice. Then "play" the playlist, put it on "autoplay" and "repeat" it.
It starts from 0:00. Without Yelawolf, this wouldn't be a song at all. Ed Sheeran AND Yelawolf make this song work.
so i guess we all have come to the conclusion that ed sheeran is an angel
Lyrics:
[Verse 1: Yelawolf]
There wasn’t much left
Except for the last twenty sack
And the last twenty of my last cheque
I took a pill and went to sleep on the last step
Woke up and took it in with a half breath
Then a deep sigh, I struck a matchstick
I lit my cigarette, feeling half dead
Whisky on my mind, then came the debt
Sheriff in the yard, here comes the rest
I sat like a ghost, they all passed by
My girl cried 'baby this’ll be my last bye'
Baby in her arms, she took a cab home
She told me I was only good for a sad song
A crooked smile I gave, nonchalant about it
Maybe she’ll come back, this time I doubt it
Act like I care, but I really don’t
Wanted to change but somehow I knew I really won’t
See I’m the type of man who can’t stay out the bottle
If the sun is out I’d rather be in the shadow
Sadness is like a wound that I can’t heal
Maybe I love blood, I just let it spill
And I never turned to church for a praying hand
God’s not going to lend another saving hand
If the time came like it has time again
Then I would watch the clock, and be late again
One gun and a harley in the driveway
One way out, dirt road pathway
Put another dead butt in the ash tray
I stand up still drunk, half baked
Cover my eyes from the bright morning sun blaring
And through the fence I can see this little boy staring
Paid him no attention, in fact I barely seen him
Until he walked away, and he started singing…
[Hook: Ed Sheeran]
London Bridge is falling down, falling down
And if it don’t stop falling, then all of us will drown
Then we’ll crash, crash, right down again
Oh we’ll crash, crash, right down again
[Verse 2: Yelawolf]
I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t see the wall
And I went from running to a slow crawl
I feel like I’m a child, but I’m afraid to cry
Would say I’m okay, but I’m afraid to lie
I speak no evil, but hear no angels
My family is callin’, but all I see is strangers
Take the bible from the hotel drawer
Hell froze over, ice cold, hell’s door, knock-knock,
I’m on the salt road non-stop
The exit I will pass ’cause the sign did rot
In the gust of a dry summer
Dirty water in the tap, I think I found my number in the sand
Right next to an empty can
Old number seven, Jack is back again
And the voice goes round and round
And I would take the bridge but I can’t forget the sound
[Hook: Ed Sheeran]
London Bridge is falling down, falling down
And if it don’t stop falling, then all of us will drown
Then we’ll crash, crash, right down again
Oh we’ll crash, crash, right down again
[Hook 2: Ed Sheeran]
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground
Running from the law but I can’t be found
Only my God can track me down
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground
Running from the law but I can’t be found
Only my God can track me down
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground
Running from the law but I can’t be found
Only my God can track me down
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground
Running from the law but I can’t be found
Only my God can track me down
[Half-Hook: Ed Sheeran]
And we’ll crash, crash right down again
Oh we’ll crash, crash right down again
[Hook 2: Ed Sheeran]
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground
Running from the law but I can’t be found
Only my God can track me down
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
Rollin' like a rock till I hit the ground
Running from the law but I can’t be found
Only my God can track me down
I’ll be coming up when the sun goes down
This is poetry.
