DK, don’t apologize. Since 2011 the league has had it out for the Steelers. Being the only team that voted “no” on the new CBA and no to the commissioners power increase. This what you have seen for 13 years.

As for the schedule, no way they care about player safety when they put 3 games in 10 days, especially at the later half of the season.
In this case, don't bother to follow the money. We already know who benefits from these schedules, and it's the very same people who approved of it.

Facts
To me there are a few key unanswered questions about this upcoming season that we will be thinking about until Atlanta in Week One: 1. How does the O-Line jell, ? 2. How does the D-line progress after a season of injuries? 3. how will Justin Fields be used? 4. How does the two quarterback relationship look like on the field and in games? 5. How does Minkah bounce back? 6. How does Najee do in a contract year if he is not renegotiated? 7. Will he be renegotiated? 8. Does not picking up the 5th year option affect the performance of Najee? 9. Who is Russ 2024? But the biggest question for me is 10. Will Roman Wilson line up on the outside and will Roman Wilson on the outside be enough?
I haven’t commented in awhile DK but I’m so excited for this season man. I have an early prediction that GP has a break out year. TOP 5 in WR yards and TDs. Go Steelers!
No way while he gets double/triple teamed all year. This offense will be RUN heavy with the occasional play action
@@barrymadickiner run heavy is cool but the last 4 years including settle Russ has thrown for over 22 TDs that’s huge especially with a huge target like GP. They can triple double team him all they want Russ dangerous in the red zone

Make no mistake. Wilson's demise was Denver realizing they owed Russell a boat load of money, and without a team around him, not even Superman could make them better. So they wanted out of their contract with him and told Payton to figure out how to get them out from under it. He didn't mind being the bad guy to try to crush Russell's spirit and get him out.

After last year with "all cylinders firing" up until the opener against SF. Im going to wait to get overly excited about anything.
This Steelers Schedule is concerning toward the end of the year. If the Steelers pull through, I think we have a legitimate chance to make a serious run for another SB.
Before the schedule came out, I saw a lot of pundits putting the Steelers in strong Superbowl contention.
After the brutal schedule.....who knows?
It's wild how different the takes are between DK and Williamson on the fairness of the schedules among the AFC North with Williamson saying the Ravens have possibly the largest rest advantage in NFL history.

Watching our offense the past 2 to 3 years has been like watching paint dry. There's no way it can be any worse. I think we might struggle early but I think we get better as the season goes. Even in the beginning of the season I expect us to be better because we have a real OC now.
Listen If Wilson threw 26 TDs last season and He is Washed Up then What does that make Mahomes who threw 27 TDs.. Let Be Real Peyton Got Brees when Brees already been to a Playoff with Shottenheimer. Peyton HASN'T PROVED AT ALL, That he can be THAT COACH with ANY Other QB that isn't Brees. Just like Reid didn't Win without a Mahomes. Peyton Will be Fired after this season if not the following. If 26 TDs isn't Enough for a Coach Then Maybe You just Not a Good Coach. 1 Superbowl after Katrina when the League NEEDED the Country to Care about Louisanna.. Nothing Since. Like Gruden They Will Get Exposed.. Wilson already showed in his Stats. Peyton Hasn't..
Just listened to Matt’s Scout eye episode and it appears the Ravens have quite the rest advantage compared to the rest of the league. It is what it is though. Cut off your eyelids and play.
I just hope we use the weapons to their strengths, and in that be unpredictable... I'll never forget the way Ken Wisenhunt attacked defenses, he knew how to study and attack, spreading the ball around and really trip up defenses. I just wish we found that kind of offense again. Hit the big targets in the end zone, we have some BIG guys who can catch when in the redzone... why we don't use them IDK.

@@yancyjenkinssr1824 I didn't. But I swear for a long time now our offensive unit hasn't been used right. Last year was so depressing I didn't even watch most of the games. 3 and out every drive but 1 per game, how we still won games is beyond me. Can't say how many times I wanted to throw my tv.

You say it all the time DK and it has proven to be true time and time again... "Don't listen to what they say, watch what they do! " They can talk about Player Safety all they want but when you schedule a team to play 4 days after a known brutal divisional opponent not once but twice.. player safety is obviously not even a thought let alone priority.
DK, I’m a bit confused. Before Russell Wilson was signed, you were always like ‘Seattle and Denver paid for him to go away! Why would we want that here?’ But, now you’re saying that he has to be the man and, “What would you like? What did you like about that play? What kind of receivers did you like?“ Saying that it’s all on the offensive coordinator. Are you now all for him being here if it’s ‘all on the OC’ to make sure he succeeds?
Because he's here now. He has to be the guy now. Nothing contradictory about that concept at all. -
Anything will be better than what we had. I think Canada‘s playbook was a dollar store coloring book with a couple out routs and jet sweeps sketched on the back of last page

DK, i truly believe that Smith is going to be way more balanced than what his past offenses were, like you said its 2024, opponents are going to expect us ground and pound in which play action will result in big play opportunities, then in the 4Q we play smash mouth! Throw in some wrinkles with Fields and we have an actual legit offense!
Justin Fields in the slot or at wide out, end arounds behind Washington 🤔 pitch backs and go deep to Pickens.

Morning DK , nation . Had this very Payton/Breeze, Belicheck/Brady conversation this weekend. It's pretty easy to be thought of as an elite coach when you have an elite QB . Look at Reid right now compared to before Mahomes, McNabb. Yinz can miss me with the Tomlin/Ben , he's done better than most when losing "the guy" . Thanks DK
BTW DK you absolutely nailed it , you have to coach the talent you have. I personally think Tomlin is very good at this. I know we came up short with the killer B's , but let's be honest if not for that whole New England thing They win a couple more SB's ,IMO. Great stuff DK
I don't get the Sean Payton hype. Won one SB, had a lot of 8-8, 7-9 seasons with a QB who was throwing for 5,000 yards every season. What made him great?
Been watching a lot of Russell play from last year I really dont get it , he is a major upgrade from what Steelers had.
Leading the league in turnovers and sacks? Naw, it's the same buddy or worse. Kenny sucked, but didnt lead the league in sacks and turnovers.

@@ibroughtreceipts What a lot of nonsense! He had less that one sack per game more than Lamar (MVP) , more TDs (in 2 fewer games), fewer fumbles (10 vs 11). I you want to talk stats, at least check all of them!

Wow! Did you nail Sean Payton. Everyone knows that RW does better in a play action passing game, but this ass ran among the fewest play action plays in the league. He didn't want RW to succeed because he was looking to get rid of him.

I agree with you 100%. Also when we have one of the so called “easiest” schedules in the NFL we seem to go 8-8 anyways. If you’re a good football team it doesn’t matter what the schedule is.

I’m excited for OTAs and Pre-Season football but that’s where my excitement will end. It’s just practice.
Real football begins on September 8th and that’s when I will make my assessment on what i think this team can be. No hype around practice catches or practice QB play. Nope! Not gonna fall for it. This year I don’t want the preseason World Championship. I want a TEAM focused on beating the odds. An offense that moves the ball consistently and unpredictably. I want a defense that plays with tightened down chinstraps and mouthpieces with wear on them. I want a team that plays with grit and a chip on their shoulders, focused on becoming the AFC North Champion, AFC Conference Champion, and the NFL Super Bowl Champions…too much?
You can run the ball old school and STILL have Russ do his thing.

Pens need one more impact winger. Rust, Bunting, DOC, Rakell, Puustinen. That's 5. Smith needs to go. Add one more, either side, and roll with it. Mean time I'm excited to see young guys like DOC, Puustinen, Ponomarev, Poulin, Koivunen, St Ivany and Blomqvist grow. I'm fine starting the season with some holes to give those guys chances to fill them.

Ok. you didn't answer the question but the league has always been about the money. Safety second. AND, the schedule is the schedule - overcome or lose.
NFL started looking at player safety when Deebo started laying dudes out while simultaneously selling pictures of and fining him for said hits.
Russ is older and richer now he’s not gonna be anything close to what he was in Seattle, as older qb’s always do he prioritizes not getting hurt over most other things, he also doesn’t throw to the middle of the field so here we go again with that problem, don’t expect much quality QB play from Russ or your gonna be disappointed.
I am not saying Wilson or Fields for that matter are going to be good here, but am I the only one that is tired of all the articles out of the national media/Denver/both complaining about how bad Wilson was. Maybe the problem in Denver was the coach. Last I checked the coach and QB each had 1 ring. QB could of had 2. either way NOT OUR PROBLEM. Everyone shut up. Let 2024 play out

Do you really think Wilson can do things he was doing a decade ago? This is gonna be yet another Tomlin's flop.
10 years ago? 4 years ago he had 40 tds and 13 interceptions and over 4000 yds passing in 16 games, 3 yrs ago he had 25 tds 6 interceptions and 3000+ yds passing in only 14 games. Stop repeating what you hear. Check the stats!
