  • I go through 5 Boogie Woogie patterns for the left hand on the piano.
These patterns can be downloaded here 👉 frazierpianostudio.com/boogie
Boogie Woogie is a great place to start with improvisation or playing the Blues. These patterns make their way into the playing of the Jazz greats like Oscar Peterson.
Once you feel comfortable with these patterns in the left hand start by adding simple licks in the right hand. It can be tricky to keep the left hand steady so start SLOW and with the METRONOME.

    Think better. Play better.
    Are you stuck?
Are you practicing but not getting better?
    Not sure what to practice?
Some students practice hours a day and don't get better, others practice far less and make progress.
    What is the difference?

Cool. Someone had a 6th one that was really simple. Just playing C-G(x2)/C-A(x2)/C-G(x2)/C-A(x2) etc.

The 5th riff with reference to 'Baby Elephant Walk' gave an added incentive to learn the riff.
Is it possible to provide such song/tune references to the preceding ones? Thanks.

That's such a good idea. When I made this video I just ripped off a bunch of patterns from things I heard on Spotify. It would have been easy to include the references.

Hello! I wanna ask, can we start practicising Pattern 4 in octaves without walking? That helped me.

Be nice if i could find a video that deals with just one simple boogie pattern, then add the cords.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The patterns don't really make sense without the chords.
