    Good review. I have the 12's and the 20's in the second Gen. Been game changers. Not sure these are worth the upgrade for me but excited to see what they do next with this tech.

    Good information! I just invested in the gen 2’s and am super excited for these to come in the mail just before the season starts!

    These are incredible. I have the 2nd gen 16 powers and the innovation that Sig is coming out with always blows me away. Would love a pair of these in my arsenal

    First pair I picked up “oh shit!”
    And every person I showed them to said the same thing. What you can catch with your eye because of the stabilization is incredible.

    I want these so bad, hardest thing would be trying to decide which pair to get. Thanks for the new update info, Excited to see how the LE Utah elk hunt plays out.

      For me I think I could narrow it down to 14 or 16. I like them both. Thanks for the watch!

      It’s a company in Japan that makes the internal for Sig and other brands.
      The interesting fact is that the 14x and 16x both have the same field of view, which is not typical for binoculars but here is due to the prism used in the stabilizing system. the difference is the eye pupil which is smaller on the 16x. So one has to be more precise in aligning the eyes in front of the binoculars. The 16x is probably the best compromise, more magnification for exact same field of view (FOV).

  • @LFC911
    @LFC911 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    How is the FOV between the 14x50 and the 16x42's? Can you see noticeably wider FOV with the 14x50's?

    • @way-up-west-outdoors
      @way-up-west-outdoors  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’m not sure, didn’t test that side by side. But if you look at the specs the apparent FOV is wider.

  • @jamiedul2

    Would you go out with only these as your only set of bino’s say in elk rut? Where you may be looking far out or up close in the trees when calling. Or would the field of view be too small for something like that?

    • @way-up-west-outdoors

      Yea! During archery elk these are all I ran. Never felt a need to use the normal binos. I did on occasion bring the spotter when I knew I’d be looking over very large country and long distance.
      But once the rug ended and we started to have to glass for hours picking apart timber I switched back to normal binos with a tripod. Once there is a tripod mount for these I think these will be all I need.

  • @reeceealy577

    Would the 14 by 50 glasses be to much for close range. I mainly bow hunt whitetail in the Midwest and go out west once a year

    • @way-up-west-outdoors

      I would say the 14s would be too tight if you’re in thick timber and can’t see much more than 50 yards. If you hunt more open fields they’d be fine. For out west they are money.
      They do make 12x42s in the 2nd gen that are still solid. But obviously not the pros. Might be a happy medium?

  • @MrYapdog

    I have one con to share because i have the 16x. is the auto time off which is set to 10 minutes. If you are not aware of this like i was at the beginning its highly annoying to turn them off then back on.

    • @way-up-west-outdoors

      I did forget to mention that.
      It’s a bit startling when they turn off lol.
      But I’d rather them shut off when I forget to turn them off and stuff them in my harness. rather than them getting drained when I forget

    • @MrYapdog

      @@way-up-west-outdoors 10 minutes is such a short amount of time especially you're glassing. I wish the auto stop feature was 30 minutes or an hour. Put a lithium battery in them and they'll last a year or 2.

    • @way-up-west-outdoors

      I haven’t found the 10 min to be an issue. It’s become a habit to turn them on and off as I lower them from my face to reset them.
      Btw as I said in the video you’re not supposed to use lithium in the binos.

  • @thecovlife3135

    Do you know why they recommended alkaline batteries instead of lithium? Can you even use lithium?

    • @way-up-west-outdoors

    I have run canon image stabilized binos for years, they are great but not new tech.
    If they were image stabilized, had a LRF, and gave ballistic data in screen then that would be a game changer. Eliminate two extra items from pack.
