Honestly, I feel you SO MUCH. I used to have colored hair and eventually shaved my head cause I was tired of the blue/green undertone that I had like you and wouldn't go away. I did everything, every technique, every color, but in the end it was a lost battle.

Usually, people do bleach bath or vitamin C treatment to make blue pigments fade. But, if you want a more gentle alternative, I saw that you can put the opposite colour on it to cancel the pigment (I never tried though). Hope it helps 😊

I've had similar problem with canceling green from my hair - what I did is dyeing my super greeny-blueish hair with red, which is opposite colour to green. It kinda helped, but my permanent red hair dye washed off pretty quickly and I was left with something between pastel pink and peach. My hair started to turn green again, but then I just dyed it black XD What I can recommend you is you can make pink shampoo, by adding red toner to your regular shampoo or conditioner and use it a few times (if you wash your hair like three times a week then use it once in a week). I hope this will help XD

I find putting neon pink over like faded teal situations worked great. It made it a nice purple that faded out back to White.

It looks like Trix yogurt and.... yessssss😩😩😩💖💖 A quick tip for toning out greens is to think of the color wheel; the opposite of green should help cancel out those shades!!! Green is so stubborn!! Either way, your hair turned out beautiful 😍

@@franninchen when I worked in a salon that's what we'd have to do! Strip the color out with a low level developer and tone it with red. This is going to help cancel out the green. Unfortunately that's what works best to remove those pigments, and it's a bit of a trial and error :/
@@shelbyskywalker7475 yes but before she started her hair wasn't green. It was a teal learning toward blue. So she had three options in the beginning: stripping the colour out with for example vitamin c or another method, doing a bleach bath or a mixture of orange (the opposite of the colour wheel of teal) with a lot of water to cancel the teal tint out. But now she has yellow roots and green in her lengths so the options are now embrace it how it is, go full on neon green or strip out the color completely and start all over again. The good thing is normally yellow strips out easily but she might be left again with that blue in her hair.
@@franninchen she asked for advice on how to cancel out green tones so I gave her advice. Green tones stain the hair, and it can be hard to remove. It DOES look good as is, I totally agree with that! Just giving her some advice since she asked for it in her video :)
I’ve been watching you for years so I know you prefer the warmer yellows and oranges in your hair but I freaking LOVE 😍 the neon lime color you ended up with… I’ve tried in the past to get a color like that and it never quite worked out. My favorite color is green, especially the neon greens so that might explain a few things lol… just saying though… it looks so cool! Also, I live in the US so I’ll be grabbing up your pallet… I’ve been waiting for it!
I would recommend mixing a little red into a lot of conditioner to try to tone out the green! It is the opposite of green on the color wheel so as long as you use just a little bit of red it’ll neutralize it a little bit

Even if it was a "fail" (i think it looks nice) it's nice to see that even when you are sure about the color base of a dye things can go wrong cause the brand it self don't specify the base or was just a miss. Either way it happens but still looks super cool .
I really like the top. You can try adding a little more of an orangey yellow than the lunar tide shade to try to combat the green but you could run it muddy. I will say I just covered a neon green with an orange and it rinsed out yellow so it's not out of the realm of possibility. I used good dye young riot which pulls pretty red. Good luck! Always love seeing which new colors you'll try.

Hi! I love your videos and honestly your hair still looks really cute! I’m a hair stylist and the best thing to do to get rid of green is to cancel it out with red because it’s the opposite color on the color wheel. So you could go for all over pink and it would work or you could add a little bit of red and conditioner

i honestly really like the neon green!
You need to strip the color with a direct dye lifter. Bleach will make the pigment lighter but also push it further in to the hair, making it really hard to get out. I work as a hairdresser and we have something called DDL for these types of colors. You can also remove it with a high lift color if done properly. It’s all about ph levels 🦄

If you want to cancel the green out without bleaching or damaging your hair you can try Color Oops to remove the color and then reapply the yellow. Or try using the Vitamin C treatment once or twice and see if the green tones come out enough to do yellow. For the vitamin c treatment you’ll want to mix together crushed up vitamin c tablets and dandruff shampoo. You can put it on dry or damp hair for 20-40 minutes depending on the lift you want.

I've heard of a color removal method where you soak hair in coconut oil for a few hours, then mix 4oz shampoo with 1oz bleach powder and a teaspoon each of coconut and olive oil, put that on the hair and leave in for...i think it was 15-20 minutes but ymmv i guess. Then wash it out. Apparently the oils do something to make it work better than just the bleach

To get rid of the green you could try this DIY trick. Mix 3% developer, dish soap, baking soda and head and shoulders shampoo. It works!

You can try look at color wheel. Which colour will cancel green tone. I know for sure red will definitely cancel green tone but I’m afraid it’s not a colour which you was going o for🤷🏻♀️🥺
i actually did a split dye with neon green and bright pink last year so i think it initially looked good. it's giving me neon mango vibes with the green pink and yellow

Using a deep toner on the roots perhaps just one shade deeper of green or if just start fresh and mix up a colour remover and apply to the deep areas process visually so watch closely till you get that colour to budge to required base then rinse and apply yellow again. You need a light blonde/pale yellow base on those to get that neon yellow result you’re wanting.

It looks so good!! Beautiful! But if you want to get rid of the green/turquoise (the hardest pigment to remove), you need to cancel it with the opposite: red/pink. Maybe do a mix of conditioner and the pink you have to just lightly dye it, then do a bleach bath and then reapply the yellow on. As somebody who's gone through every color in the rainbow, this seems to work best! Just be careful not to destroy your hair with too much bleach :)

You could always let the green on the ends fade out more and once they're light enough you could maybe do the ends with the same pink as your bangs, that way once they fade out more the pink cancels out the green tones in your hair. Either way it looks super good💕💕

I actually just had blue hair and it's faded to green. I washed it all out and my whole head ended up a mint color with this ugly swampy gold color at my roots. I mixed in a small amount of pink and red dye to conditioner, covered my while head and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to color correct the green/mint and now I'm back to silver hair!
aah that's so great, I'm gonna do my hair orange and hopefully after that the green undertone will be gone

I would go over with that same pink! It will be the coolest orange color and then after it fades you could do yellow again
put a smidge of really pastel pink to tone out the green, and then re-dye with yellow. Those blues and greens really have to be fully cancelled out to cover them with anything light like yellow. it's still hella cute, but toning that green out will give you a better result. :)

I think if you did yellow In the front and pink in the back that would have been nice to cancel out more of the green that was there with the pink tones , either way you can pull anything off 😊 if you were in my salon and wanted to get rid of the green I would probabaly suggest options of removing the color you have with Malibu crystals packets under the dryer for 45 mins then maybe the Matrix color eraser with 20 vol for 20 minutes, pink with violet or blue tones definitely counteracts light green tones ..

You’ve should put light pink on your hair to cancel the greenish and then after several shampoos apply the yellow! It looks amazing anyway!
When the yellow washes out a bit and the blue/green comes through more, you should try and do a subtle bleach bath but add a little amount of a pinky orange shade in the bleach to try and tone it out since they’re opposite colours! It may dye it the lightest grey brown but I’m assuming because you used bleach the colour will wash out and fade not as blue if you get me?? Haha
The bleach will bleach the colour so there is no use adding colour to bleach, but you can totally tone it afterwards! Just letting you know 👌
@@AnimeChan11 yeah totally! I’m defos not a professional but I just thought maybe if she added a bit of dye to the bleach it would give the same effect as those coloured bleaches I’ve seen used before, it can lighten but deposit a makeshift toner to the blue at the same time haha
@@poppywest8530 Yeah I totally get where you're coming from, it just sadly does next to nothing because of how potent the bleach is! Toning it after does the trick though, even better if the colour is added to a leave-in hairmask!

So the opposite of the color wheel looks like that pinkish red so you could put a drop or two of that in conditioner and then apply it to your wet hair for like 1 minute and see if it does anything! I did this with orange when my hair turned accidentally blue and it helped but you have to dilute it a bunch and also only leave it in for like 1 minute or else other colors could start happening lol. Then just repeat until you get the color you want.
Green and blue tones are really hard to get out. But always follow the color wheel if you are going for an opposite tone. You can use a light pink or orange color as a toner and that should help with the green tint. Make sure it's like a pastel so it doesn't completely turn your hair orange. You just want to neutralize the green. But keep in mind red tones fade faster that blue/green tones

You just need to get some red\violet base toner when it fades out, it should work with your problem❤️
I had the same issue with green hair. I put a pink over the top to turn it purple and as the purple washed out it returned to blonde
If you put green over yellow it turns blue, so I would take a look at the colorwheel to find the complimentary colors 😊
