My daughter played Burning Love at her wedding! Elvis belted out Lord Almighty as soon as the preacher said, "I now pronounce you husband and wife!" The church went wild!!! My mother introduced me to Elvis, and I have passed him down to my children and grandchildren. He's the GOAT!
Excellent observations, and yes I agree another Nuclear Powered performance from The King. Elvis here was 40 and was still fit and strong. His moves are smooth, exceptionally timed and very powerful.
If Elvis has straitened out his life and lived another 20-30 years it would have been fun to see what his outfits would have been in 1985 and 1995 and maybe even 2005.
There were some great shows in 75. I don’t think I ever saw this particular live video of Burning Love. Thank you for sharing this as it is enjoyable and great!
Hi David ♥ It's amazing how much slimmer Elvis looks in a suit. I went to London to see the Elvis exhibition and it was amazing to hold his gold belt and microphone. 32" waist and that was big on him. Thank you David ❤
Awesome video clip David! I love the way he did Burning Love, and I really love those cool jackets he would occasionally wear at the beginning of shows! Such an extra cool video today David!😃👏👏👏⚡
This is amazing footage David. I’ve heard the great Lakeland concert many times, but I’ve never seen the film footage. It’s terrific! You’re correct Elvis did resurrect “Burning Love” in ‘75 and retired it again in ‘76. I guess he got a new Jones for “Polk Salad Annie”. He changed PSA a bit and lengthened it some. I liked both songs a great deal and I wish Elvis would have kept doing “Burnin’ Love” (as I used to call it as a kid in south) on into ‘76 and ‘77. Nonetheless, it’s great to see the film footage and Elvis in the very 1975 “Dark Blue 2-piece Suit & Red/Gold Ornaments”. As the “Fashion” book dedicated totally to Elvis’s suits calls it 😂. Wonderful footage David, thanks so much for uploading this one for us!
Well, this is my fifth Elvis song. Can’t do anymore . Starting to get that Lump in my throat and that thick cloud of sadness coming over me. I sure do miss him 😢😢🥀
One of my favorite elvis concerts is 1975 April 24 I really love all the songs it’s full of my absolute favorites from 70s and some from oldies. He had songs up like/ Love Me / If You Love Me / You Don't Have To Say You Love Me / Big Boss Man / It's Midnight / Promised Land / Fairytale / Burning Love etc, the ladder of which are my two favorite 70s elvis songs. I believe the atmosphere and Elvis’s suits, the sounds of the songs were at its peak, before elvis started to go into downwards spiral in late 75 and onward. In my opinion this is arguably the best concert. I don’t know is April 24th is that footage that you showed but it’s really interesting that Elvis started using burning love more. Keep up the good work love the videos ⚡️⚡️⚡️
What a shame that no performances from 1974 or 1975 were filmed professionally… what an oversight. It boggles my mind. What was colonel Parker thinking ? That he had a better chance of presenting Elvis in the best possible shape in 1977, knowing full well how Elvis visibly started to go downhill after Aloha from Hawaii ? And those even more fabulous shows from Spring-Summer of 1973… Like in Portland or Atlanta, they would have made for such great concert spectacles on TV at the time.
It was another era: film was expensive and spotlights on film and national TV hard to come by but not impossible. He had two concert docs in the early '70s and the two national TV specials in '68 (re-aired in '69) and famously in April of 1973 in the US on NBC. The world moved slower then and today we expect constant footage. For the time, it was about to be expected. More seriously, they should have been better managing the production of his albums - that absurd sell-off of his past RCA project was a stupid fire-sale that hurt Elvis right before the '50s oldies boom peaked..and worked on resting the legend and bringing in the likes of Chips Moman again or a Steve Binder to re-focus. But Andreas Van Kuijk "(so-called "'Col.' Parker") was an old-time "Carney" barker- way past his prime and out of touch and more than "double-dipping" to the too-loyal Elvis. So many "what if's" to be explored in the 2020's...ultimately we can be glad the glass was at least half-full. We are frustrated by it today but we also remember we are so glad to have had him that long or at all. Keep rocking, EITM!
Hey Dave. I remember being so excited when he started Playing Burning Love…and The Wonder Of You…and Mystery Train July 19, 1975. I was 6…🤣. Time flies…TCB⚡️

Thanks for the great video!
Nice footage, looking pretty good. The 2 piece suits were a better look and kinder to his appearance as he gained weight. I often feel by 75' the jumpsuit had run its course and I wish he had done more 2 piece or the great shirts look he wore in 72'. I am sure had he lived pass 77' we would have seen a change, I know his clothes designer Bill Belew had talked about some changes that were being proposed. Great footage, thanks for uploading.
@@ElvisistheMan: thank you for this gem! Just to be correct: this suits from early 75 are not 2 piece- suits, in fact this ate jumpsuits with a not "removable" jacket. But, I wished that Elvis would wear this kind of stage-suits or 2 piece suits from 76 on.. looks much better in this... (except the famous autum-76-concerts) Thank you for your never ending work, I love it
It’s an incredible song. An all-time great. His last #1 hit. But he did Olivia Newton John songs and the “Impossible Dream” far more often. He did the awful “You Gave Me a Mountain” and the terrifically-bad “Help Me” more often. Couldn’t explain it then. Can’t explain it now.
I’ve never seen that 75 suit on video, the under suit was an armless jumpsuit that’s probably why he didn’t take off the jacket , I wonder was Elvis beginning to feel the pace of these upbeat songs 40 isn’t old but when ur carrying extra weight it can be hard to move like he did in his prime !?!
there is a show in 1975 where he asked the audience which song they want to hear either polk salad annie or Burning Love , I was sure people would have clap louder for burning love considering it’s was a big hit for elvis but surprisingly, people clapped harder for polk salad annie so he did that instead of Burning Love
You sure get great content of films of Elvis performing using films I guess that people send you that they recorded when they attended the concert. So great. I've been a fan since 1977. I really liked the ELVIS movie starring Austin Butler. I wish they could have included more people who were around Elvis besides just Jerry like Linda Thompson, etc. Anyway I love your videos 😀
Great video Dave, thanks for sharing! Elvis should have incorporated BurningLove more often in his concerts. And I like the two piece suits. Elvis looked good in jumpsuits between 1970-74. Actually Elvis look good wearing anything. But I feel by ‘75 the jumpsuits were becoming outdated and they didn’t looked flattering on him.
Seems to me this stuff is nearly a half-century old and ripe for public domain, in spirit if not letter of the (often-lobbied) law. To begin with, this is unofficial fan footage to begin with, and as we now move into the mid '20s (a long way from the 1970s , folks!), it's time for these alleged copy-right holders to realize that Elvis' legacy is benefited by releasing and at least allowing educational use (per 1976 fair use law) and realize none of this footage is going to make anyone "rich". (That ship has sailed.) So in 2024, anything to shine a spotlight on the incredible cultural legacy of our favorite American son, Elvis Presley ! Keep Educating us, EITM !
@@AndrewVOdom sadly that's not how Peter wants it to go, Peter sells downgraded films, and if someone posts one of these films somewhere, he will threaten to strike them.
Yeah he was on fire 🔥😊but I was only 10 years old fr,but he could sing lot's of different types of songs 🎵 makes you wonder what kind of songs 🎵that we never got to hear because of his early death
@@ElvisistheMan_😁Thanks Dave...hey I got an idea, maybe you could discuss WHY did Elvis wear the "Sundial jumpsuit" "almost exclusively" nearing the end of his life (When he had so many to choose from) Was there a significance about the "Sundial" to Elvis? It does represent "Time" or "Time piece"...Was he using the Sundial suit to say, my "time" here is about up, nearly over, nearing the end?? IDK Elvis was sooo deep in his thinking, studying, reading, that the Sundial question shouldn't be dismissed.
How come no one's talking about that little thing in the beginning where he was talking about getting paid that was fire I wish he would have wrote a song 😂❤️
A few things… 1. IIRC, he didn’t like performing Burning Love. 2. I love how ETAs use it as their second song with the guitar, when the only evidence of him doing such a thing was Aloha. 3. My favorite version is from 1976. 4. I love the suits. He couldn’t take off the jackets - like this and the white one you showed - because the pants / shirt were actually one piece and had no sleeves. He would’ve looked weird. 5. He should’ve switched to the two-pieces for 1975+ because the jumpsuits were becoming a caricature of himself.
Yes sir brother great rare footage I've never seen yes from me to you I know elvis also I'm 64 and in 1975 mayv4th he came here to lc la. And yes that was the spring tour and that is the last time he wore the 2 peice dark blue and white he wore the blue here and just 8 days later the 4th of May 2 shows 230pm 830pm and did the jambalaya song fir the Cajun crowd and as you know it is on the cd released in early 2000s decade by Baxter release where he cusses the security fir being so hard on the person coming up to see him
Elvis didn’t often throw his back up singers, but this was one of the few times they missed the cue! Then again, I don’t think he even knew when he was going to end the song, kinda like when you’re stuck in a revolving door. 😂
Burning Love is my #1 fave . As of his suit..no I dont like the blue & tan 2 piece suit. But yes there was several I did like. I do wish he sang Burning Love when I saw Elvis in-person
I also think if Elvis had challenges going into 1976-77 like performing out of the country, he would of risen to these challenges. It could of been a life saving move for Elvis , but of course his manager Parker could not leave the country. We know El is loved a challenge like the 1968 comeback special and the 1973 Aloha from Hawaii. which would be the closest Elvis would get to his fans out of this country. Maybe even if he would of done the movie A Star Is Born with Barbara Streisand in 1976 , that would of been a challenge I know Elvis would of risen to. Parker ruined that wanting Elvis's name over Barbra Streisand name on the marque. Those last 2 yrs 1976- 77 Elvis did his regular touring across the country which led to the vicious cycle of medication and touring. By the time the 1977 CBS special came along it was to late for Elvis . He still could belt out a song but physically there was no going back. Without challenges in those last 2 years I believe Elvis became bored , medication increased to kill the boredom and on August 16 the 1977 it just all caught up with him and he passed away. A challenge or two in 1976 could of kept Elvis from passing away in 1977 .
Would have been interesting to know directly from the 'man' what his real thoughts were on his song choices and why not this popular song and that song, so many that were 'easy' for him to sing on stage but he never did.
I would have loved to have been at that wedding to witness that!

I'm digging that story. Tx.
When Elvis married Priscilla he sang Love Me Tender to her. What did Michael Jackson sing to Lisa Marie Presley when they wed in 1994? Ans: Beat It!

Love the jacket ! As Elvis gained weight in his last 2 years 75-76 jackets made sense as the jumpsuits were starting to look unflattering.
Some of those shows he wore a bulletproof vest after death threats.

Without challenges in those last 2 years I believe Elvis became bored , medication increased to kill the boredom and on August 16 the 1977 it just all caught up with him and he passed away. A challenge or two in 1976 could of kept Elvis from passing away in 1977 .
Like Sunny West said from 1972 After Hawaii and on, he was a steady down hill spiral. Some of these shows are painful to watch.
My mama did the same for me ❤❤❤❤
Love him, not the back up singers
Elvis looks good without the jumpsuits. His haircut is shorter and has neater sideburns. Looks younger here.
The squawking was Charley Hodge. Sometimes I wish Elvis had a switch in his pocket that would turn Hodge’s mic 🎤 off.
Lol
Cantrell it wasn't Charlie, the back up vocals was bill baize from the stamps .
I agree the sqauking does ruin it but love the suits!
Would have been interesting to know directly from the 'man' what his real thoughts were on his song choices and why not this popular song and that song, so many that were 'easy' for him to sing on stage but he never did.
I own that very yellow scarf he's wearing in that clip. A girl by the name of Lorie got the scarf. Lakeland Florida April 27th 1975.
Nice!
