    We just bought our travel trailer after upgrading from a popup camper. In the popup, we just used a digital antenna and got over the air service. We weren't camping to watch TV, so it was just fine with us. However, we just retired, got the new RV and plan on spending more time on the road, so will upgrade to streaming. Having said that, after buying the RV, we are hemorrhaging money buying all the stuff we need just to operate it. So, the streaming set up is gonna have to wait. Thanks for the video, it was very informative.

    We are just now researching how to get TV on our RV. This video was very informative. I wish we could get a stronger wifi signal for streaming.
    We have DirecTV at home so I wish we could use it on our RV without such a costly investment. We just want to be able to watch a little TV at night.

    We usually have to deal with over the air but are glad you’ve given us other options cause over the air is disappointing. We do have a cable cord but we usually are more non private campgrounds. We were offered a satellite from the people we ordered our Airstream for, but I was so old, we thought it wouldn’t be worth it. I’m thinking the Roku May be our best option-internet streaming.

      Yep we went right to the steaming. It has work out very well for us so far. Thanks for watching and comment.

    Da Bear here. Great video and often wondered about tv options in RV life. For over the air, would you have an option to hook up another type of antenna? Know some antennas perform better than others as well as the type of tuner one has. Often wondered how well the rv antennas worked. Have you got to experience any area that is offering ATSC 3.0 channels? My area doesn't have it nor is my tv have an ATSC 3.0 tuner. Question on the satellite option. Which networks (local affiliations) do you have options to since you are moving from town to town? Use OTA, satellite and streaming now. Love streaming but always found it to be a headache half the time. No net, no channels. Password resetting every so often and then buffering. Can you get tablo to record over the air? Great video and thank you. Hope that streaming tv is not the future as it has so many disadvantages. Plus it will cost so much more for streaming content will be scattered among pay subscriptions. Again, great video. Paws up on the video. Bears don't have thumbs.

    We went from satellite to streaming, but I also carry coax cable. I had my dish on the RV but also one on a tripod that I could move to the edge of the site away from trees. Streaming is becoming the new norm for RVers. The advantage is that with the new smart TVs is that you don't need to depend on HDMI cabling and splitters.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Roy. So glad you said this. I see so many people hung up in the satellite thing. Steaming is certainly the future especially with smart TV’s. We cut the cord at home close to 2 years now and love it. Just streamed TV for days straight at a campground with no issues.

      I only stream. I dumped dish a year ago the went up from $72 to $118 / mo for same content.
      I streamed from Mobil and back to Dallas Detroit D.C. and Miami and streamed TH-cam classic rock videos and it only dropped out temporarily a few times.
      I'm going to buy a 12v tv when I decide on one and just stream my phone to it.

    Hello, great video. I use Apple TV and connect using my Winegard on the roof. Sometimes the campgrounds offer internet, but their services are not great. Another trick anyone can do;is to air drop from your iphone to your Apple TV. I’m not sure if AT&T still offers direct tv now, but you can watch your favorite shows on your iphone/iPad not using any data, and stream via Apple TV, so that you can watch it on the big screen.

      Curious question... I bought a Winegard and purchased 10 gig for 30 days. We used it up in 2 days. Their customer service questioned if we were using fire stick or apple tv and said there is a lot of upload/download activity with those devices. Is there some sort of trick to using their data?

    MJ and Izzy, can I do the streaming with my Verizon service and Galaxy 8 phone and use it as a hotspot? Will that always work? Or only work when I have Wi-Fi? I'm assuming it's like a 30 buck more a month for the hot spot service? If you could elaborate on that that that would be great because we would be happy just having fire stick.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as your phone can be used as a hotspot your fine. Just keep in mind many times “hotspot service” is no unlimited. The data you use on your phone is unlimited but not the data used via the hotspot feature. Just check you plan to verify.
      A dedicated lte modem with external antennae mounted to roof will work a lot better. There is a guy in Chester NY who sells really good modems. I bought one from him.

    • @yobabybubba

      @@EndlessRVing Thank you for the info. I'm not too far from Chester (Pine Bush NY) maybe you can give me his info. I like the idea of a separate modem with its own service and paying extra for that service and not using my phone for a hot spot. I watched some other videos as well and it seems like I could do that without an extra antenna on the roof. But im open to all options.
