Please keep having Prof Onge on! His episodes have been great, and he and Bob resonate well. Informative stuff.

Inflation in Japan has been rough. Bills have doubled taxes have increased as well as prices on most things. There is no sign of this slowing. I live and work here. Also, buying. Goods from outside of Japan has made that ridiculously expensive.

As you are someone who lives there...is there any sign that they will start to allow young people to make progress in the work place and poltics?
Or will they be under the thumb of the older vote and seniority/confucianism style culture on every aspect of life?
It seems so hopeless to be a young person native there..
After I heard that story about the young kids who designed a wheeling Carrier for their heavy elementary school book bag, and it was completely insulted by everyone older, I've always seen that as a kind of metaphor for Japan shooting themselves and their future development/innovation/talents.. in the foot.

Why does everybody forget about the dustbowl as if it had nothing to do with the great depression? No food is no food is no food, regardless of the stock market or economic policy. Clearly the dustbowl wasn't the only factor but it sure wasn't a minor aside.

The continuously changing economic conditions in our society have made it necessary for people to find additional sources of income. I am a Data Analyst, but currently looking at the stock market to fuel my retirement goal of $10m, my only concern is the recent market crash. Do I stay 100% cash and wait for a bullish market, or do I go ahead to invest anyways?

buying the dip is actually a good investing strategy, although it is more ideal to find solution in the specialized expertise of financial advisors

Carry trade is an unhedged forex trade.

Unhedged = certain to bankrupt at least some HF and is extreeeeemely greedy. The cost to hedge safely is maybe .5-1%. Absolutely criminal. They printed money for nothing but risk and now the piper is calling them home. Laughable if it weren’t for the implications across the global economy.
