    FYI People are testing positive for LTB after getting COVID-19 vaccine. Seeing it in healthcare workers. Particularly if they are getting TB Test within 30 days of vaccine.

      Thank you for posting this info. Important and not being communicated across provider community.

    There is still a challenge all over the globe to eradicate TB Infection. With my research on the subject (as I had LTBI Infection and doctor refused to give medication), I feel confident to say that not everyone can be screened for LTBI infection and even if screened, it's very hard to administer correct drug regime. TB is more of a socioeconomic and lifestyle disease, which means if you are in a low social stratum, you are more likely to reacquire TB infection even after receiving the treatment. And even if we try to eradicate TB completely, we will eventually run in an endless loop of reinfection, as many people under treatment will not take proper measures, like wearing N95 Face masks and sanitizing clothing and the indoor environment, and it will lead to dormant infection (LTBI) in the care providing family member or others. And this can cause one healthy person to get XMDR LTBI, as the person receiving treatment is already taking antibiotics that kill the bacteria and Natural selection enables the survival of bacteria that can resist the recommended antibiotic. Also, comorbidity plays a big role in communicating infections, for e.g.:- A person acquired TB germs while in a closed non sanitized public space like hotel/restaurant or bar or even public transport and immune system attacked the bacterial replication, which results in a LTBI, means the bacteria is dormant and not causing harm "Until the Immune response is adequate", But now the person was diagnosed with allergy or cancer and immunosuppressive medication was started, this will eventually lead TB bacteria to replicate due to lake of appropriate immune response and chances are to progress active Tb disease and now this person can infect others easily as there was no restriction in contact due to lack of TB testing. And usually in such situations new treatment cannot be started, especially in cancer, and due to running out of time no alternate is left, almost nothing can be done to save the life, maybe this is what happened due to dexamethasone in COVID19, as dexamethasone is immunosuppressant. Also, there are no guidelines or standards among healthcare workers to check or rule out for TB/LTBI before initiating steroid treatment, and this is especially true for developing countries. I have researched this subject extensively and I have a suggestion. Although the fire has failed, but there is a spread of a dying spark, and that is Probiotics. Earlier an antibiotic named streptomycin was used to treat TB infection, although now it is a second line therapy, but the main point is that Streptomycin was obtained from a bacteria called streptomyces f. and there are many bacteria that are present in humans and are first defense barrier in body to pathogens, and some time they even kill pathogens and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnoses kill M Tuberculosis. So, my suggestion is to incorporate reestablishment the normal Microbiome through probiotics and healthy eating habits, and to create a system of monitoring of healthy bacteria in body to fight off such infections once and for all.

      @Gerilady ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't go by blood tests either I've tested positive a few times than negative a few times now positive again. I really don't think they know if it's really a false positive or false negative. There's gotta be other testing besides blood and x-ray
