  • In this video I show you how to set up and install an avail micro cast spool in a small Ambassadeur. This particular reel is an Ambassadeur 1500C. The particular spool is an Avail Micro Cast spool AMB1518TR (trout special)

    Love the video!! You said that break mag conversion is way to go , but have you ever tried to cast this reel with just one block attached to centrifugal ? looks like adjusting mag break would be a pain removing the spool every time to find the right spot...

      Yes I’ve tryed the centrifugal breaks. But I can cast lighter and farther with the mag breaks. And I really don’t constantly adjust the mag breaks. I adjust it one time and that’s pretty much it

    TJ how do you adjust those magnetic brakes and tune them? Would love to see a video on that if you have time!

      I actually do show it in this video, you probably ddnt see it. But the brake hub is like a big screw. You turn it clock wise and as it tightens the magnets move away from the spool. You turn it counter clockwise and as it loosens the magnets move closer to the spool. It’s at 10:20 in the video

      Nice! Thanks for the time stamp! Yea somehow missed that part… 🤦‍♂️ so you still prefer the mag brakes over the centrifugal?

      @@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL definitely, this brake system is the best for the small Ambassadeur imo. Super easy to use

    How is the trout special spool? I can't decide between the two Avail spools. I'm worried the trout special is too fragile.

      I like it better than the solid spool, adjusting the brakes is easier, you can cast lighter weights and the spool isn’t as fragile as you would think. I caught some 5lb bass with it now problem. Of course I don’t use much drag pressure cuz the avail pinion gear is fragile.

      @@Baitfinessefishing I'm having a strange issue with my 2500c. The spool is rattling loudly when I cast if the reel is tilted handle-side down. Moving the white brake spacer (avail mb brake kit) to the right solves the issue temporarily, but the rattling comes back if I tighten the spool tension knob as it moves the spacer back into place. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks a lot!

      @@zhelsel what brake system and spool do you have? Do you have the spool in this video? The honey comb (trout special)? Or do you have the other avail spool witch is solid was no holes?

    • @zhelsel
      @zhelsel หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Baitfinessefishing I have the honeycomb avail trout special and the AMB250R. This issue was happening with both spools. The brake system is the avail MicrocastBrake AMB1520PE.

      @@zhelsel my first thought was that the spool was making contact with the brake hub. You can test it by removing the brake hub and try reeling it in the way that the spool was rattling around. And see if it’s still doing that. It could also be the bearings. If you have Instagram my name there is Baitfinessefishing . You can message me there to talk about it
