Man that’s a great story. I had a similar story. I was out bass fishing and thought I snagged a big log. I was so convinced I was snagged on this log that I trolled over to it to get my bait off, but when I got close to it the log started moving!!! It turned out to be a 7 foot alligator gar. He ate the bait and every thing. It was a 45 min fight. I had to tow him all the way back to the boat launch and lasso him with a rope to land him on the ramp. Way too big to try to bring in the boat!

@@barry4fish yep it is a 9G. I considered not fishing with it cuz it was in perfect condition, but I was like what the hell, mine as well. I can’t bring it with me when I die haha. I’m gonna have to check out the size 3. Sounds perfect for trout! I have been using the cd01 I think it is. The smallest count down model. It’s like 1” I think. The trout love that one for sure!!

@ yeah, that smallest size countdown probably casts better than the floating one!

@ oh definitely , it cast really well. Yeah the floaters don’t cast nearly as well

@@barry4fishI bought one of the F03. 1 1/2” and on the scaled it weighed 1.68 grams or just alittle under 1/16 oz. Which is plenty enough weight for my bfs set ups. It cast extremely well, really far and accurate. It cast way better than the 9G I was using in this video. Even though the F03 weighs about half as much as the 9G it’s way more compact and cast way better. The 9G is such a big bait to weigh as little as it does. Lots of surface area to catch air on the cast, it’s like trying to cast a mini kite haha

@ Thanks, good to know, makes sense the bigger ones catch more air. I have only fished with them on UL spin gear, but I now have a couple BFS outfits to try them. I also have several other ultralight minnow lures, Rebel 2”, the YoZuri Pins in 2 1/2”, Salmo Minnow 5, AC Shiner 250, DAM minnow 5, XPS minnow and the plastic Rapala UL minnows (sizes 4 & 6), all are less than 3.5 grams. Fun to have choices!

Um not sure I did cast 1 gram with it. Haven’t tried any lower. No problem man!

Nearly all of the smallest lures I have are over 2.5 grams. There is a huge selection of ultralight lures on the market that are normally fished with UL spinning gear, and I can’t really find any that are under 2 grams. I guess if you fish with live bait or tiny jigs, you might find some.

I’m not sure what you mean. Bfs means casting ultra light lures on bait casting gear. That’s what I was doing in the video. I could be casting on dry land and it would still be bfs. Hah yeah I sometimes when they stock trout I throw trout profiled swimbaits in hope of catch a big bass.

I really love the 15 Metanium Dc , but after using this new one. It think the new one is a better caster. It can cast a lower weight lure too

@@collinstuart3622 yes sir will do , I like it so far, I was casting from 6 gram to 1 oz yesterday and it handled it pretty good. It cast a 1/2oz lipless crankbait far as hell!!

I like it better than the solid spool, adjusting the brakes is easier, you can cast lighter weights and the spool isn’t as fragile as you would think. I caught some 5lb bass with it now problem. Of course I don’t use much drag pressure cuz the avail pinion gear is fragile.

@@Baitfinessefishing I'm having a strange issue with my 2500c. The spool is rattling loudly when I cast if the reel is tilted handle-side down. Moving the white brake spacer (avail mb brake kit) to the right solves the issue temporarily, but the rattling comes back if I tighten the spool tension knob as it moves the spacer back into place. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks a lot!

@@zhelsel what brake system and spool do you have? Do you have the spool in this video? The honey comb (trout special)? Or do you have the other avail spool witch is solid was no holes?

@@Baitfinessefishing I have the honeycomb avail trout special and the AMB250R. This issue was happening with both spools. The brake system is the avail MicrocastBrake AMB1520PE.

@@zhelsel my first thought was that the spool was making contact with the brake hub. You can test it by removing the brake hub and try reeling it in the way that the spool was rattling around. This reel is built from parts, you can’t just buy the reel. You have to located all the parts from various places and build it. The way you see it here is about a $2000 reel

REM oil would lubricant the bearings, but would not clean them. I cleaned my bearings in this video. You need some type of solvent, I used acetone.

no good.. lures are beautiful ,craftsmanship second to none.. BTW , I’m pretty sure this lures are made for currents and that’s what make them even more valuable , it’s v. difficult to find a lure , specially floating kind that holds up good in fast moving water…👍@@Baitfinessefishing

@@JanWywiol they def are beautiful. And yes most are made for current. They sink pretty fast, and don’t really blow out on high speed retrieve or fast current.
