I like to imagine that the devs had no clue Phasmophobia would take off like it did. So the voiceline "Unfortunately, it looks like you're on your own" was probably added since they genuinely thought that, more often than not, the server lobby browser would've been empty
You literally can see how much the developers care about this game and made it completely different than it was in the beginning. The dirty water, the old movement speed, the old go on the table bug or so on. The only thing I miss sometimes was the old times of looping the ghost around the kitchen and the Garage... These were some good times :D. But I am genuinely happy and excited what this game is and how its gonna improve even more.
I hope that they will some day add some sort of a "Legacy Mode" where we could try out the old versions like how Minecraft works. Even if not with every single version, but the major updates.
@@royale9159 There is a setting in steam called "Betas" some games have older versions there like in Unturned. Around 1-2 years before you can select the "beta update" option for the game, with my friends we used to play on beta because we can experiene the future updates

Clearly they have kept old backups if they made this available to a handful of people. It's just a matter of making it publicly available, but there are good reasons not to do that such as dividing the community
Man, I remember all the myths. Wraiths can see through doors! Wraiths can walk through walls! Demons will stop hunts when you throw a crucifix at them! Wraiths will end their hunt if they step in salt! Yureis increase map-wide sanity drain! Absolutely none of that was true. And there's way more, this is just off the top of my head.
The "Wraith doesn't make footstep noises" one I remember the most. Also we used to think that the ghost can sense flashlight and voice chat during a hunt. That wasn't the case, until they introduced voice chat detection first, then electronics and finally the global voice chat

itd be really cool if this game had multiple different death animations bc the one the game has right now isn't necessarily bad, its just very repetitive. so rather than getting rid of that one and replacing it with a new animation, i think it would be neat if the game had a few different ones and picked a random one for each death edit: or maybe some animations that could correspond with the ghost model somehow, and i think that hanged man deaths should definitely have their own animation
Maybe the original ghosts have the original death animation, and that there is like an animation for a group of ghosts, not specific to that one ghost?
I remember in Edgefield House, my friend and I camping at a corner watching our Other Friend merry go round a Ghost around the kitchen. This happened for 3 hunts, it was a different type of fun compared to now. Able to abuse and run away from ghosts easily, do tricks like playing Ouija Board in front of the house and leaving before the door closes when a Hunt Begins. OG Times
Ye it was so fun. I played with 2 other friends and we looped the ghost around the kitchen and we all screamed because the ghost was right behind us😂 but It was funny that the player ran so slow just like the ghost. So intense 😂
My friends and I would take the front door and tear it off it's hinges. And then when the ghost started a hunt, the door would slam shut, but it would be off center. So you'd end up with a hole. So we would just walk outside of the house as soon as a hunt started, or while the ghost was chasing us.
Saw the stream of this and the nostalgia still runs deep now as it did then. It's such a journey all of us went through. Phasmo came out in september 2020 and the first time I saw any Phasmo content was in November of 2020 when Markiplier Bob Wade and Jack played it and ever since then I've fallen in love with this. The Yokai/Hantu/Willow update, speed up buff, Myling/Goryo/Dots/new events update, Raiju/Onryo/Twins/Obake/Campsite update, cursed items, the Mimic update, and the new recent rework update. It's been an odyssey we've went on with Insym. What would we be without him, Phasmo, Cj, Lavender, Dk, and the 21 ghosts we know and love?
I actually got so nostalgic seeing the ghost writing book. Wasn't expecting that! I played the game like two weeks after it came out and I can't believe how far it has come!
Back when phas was more "grounded in reality", where equipment was just bits and pieces that your character probably found on ebay, and not made by some ghost-be-gone company etc...
I miss old sounds! Played Phasmo since it came out, and I honestly love old radio voice and ghost events more than current ones. Even the old singing somehow seem less cartoony.
There used to be a VR bug in Bleasdale where if you took the butcher’s knife from the living room and placed it on your right belt slot, it would completely mess your movement up and push you through walls. It is still my favorite bug I’ve ever come across in this game.

I actually know what the green key is for. I ripped the files from phas a little while ago, and I found that there used to be the Car Key (still used), Garage Key (green, unused), and Basement key (blue, unused). You would find the garage key somewhere in the house, usually the kitchen, and then the basement key was found in the garage.
I got the game back in October 2020 and this really brings me back I even remember watching your streams every morning for me and even playing with you back when you would do the beta build plays.
I remember enjoying watching you play the old version back when you were still lvl 800 then finally bought it to try it myself. I'm so glad to be a part of your growing channel and community!

An hour in, and just want to say this: you couldn't take pics of the ghost writing indefinitely, only for a really short time after the writing appeared to get a general interaction. You couldn't come back to it whenever to get the pic. I remember that pain!
I recall when I was new and the upright book tec blew my mind, where you could look straight up and drop the book for it to stand up, and with a camera next to it, it gave even more excuses to stay in the van and wait for writing.
Hope that one day they will add the older versions of the game to play and manage versions through steam(kinda like what Minecraft, csgo and other games have and what phasmo used to have to switch from public build to beta)
I really miss this old version. I could play hours on end in VR in this version. Somehow the graphics were simpler, and my PC handled it better than this newest version... I miss it so much

i managed to convince my friends to buy this game for Halloween when it came out and it was so good, stopped playing for a while after halloween but came back to it and keep playing, but this video brought back so many good memories (and a lot of terrifying ones lmao)

There's also a glitch in this version on Tanglewood(or one of the maps with the yellow barricades in front of the truck exit), if you stand on the ramp of the truck, crouch(not sure if you had to do it) and take a picture of the pavement, it would show a picture with the description "dead body"
i miss the ghost being able to write in the book in your hand, or by dropping it instead of placing it, so you could drop it standing up with infront of the cam
Honestly, I think one of the things i'd like to bring back is that the equipment is several colors. Having every piece of equipment (minus the journal and sound sensors) be black is hard to distinguish sometimes. Having a few be white or beige or something would help.

I can't believe I missed this video 2 months ago.. I am a mainly WoW player and I enjoy both versions of the game (Classic and Live). Watching this gave me those exact "Classic" vibes I got from WoW and I hope, maybe when the game will be fully released, that they could perhaps launch some time a parallel version of this game like how it was in the beginning, perhaps with some fixes to some obvious bugs (like the broken photos we just witnessed here), but still with the voodoo yeets, twerks, etc. Things like this make a game really memorable and they hit the mark with Phasmo big time. I love playing and replaying the game and watching content with it, especially yours, Insym
Achievement get: Those were the days. Also i think they should add achievements to this game, like "Your worst Nightmare: Complete all maps on Nightmare diff.", "Amatour: Complete all maps on Amateur diff."
I've been playing Phasmo since day one. I definetly remember all of this, it brings back so many memories of old friends that i've met through my Phasmo journey.
the headcam light only worked when the night vision was actually on on cam. you'd have to do that to properly test it although I think iirc that one was introduced with the new camera models which also may have had a slight change to how the nightvision works in general.
I would love to do this, whilst I watched the game since release I couldn’t play it because money issues (back when I didn’t have my computer) But this is so cool to watch because I love the older phas here and there
I remember watching Venntex back in early Phas days playing solo and trying to always get hunts just sitting in hallways for 5 minutes or more waiting for sanity to go down.
I watched this on your vod channel, but man this patch is so nostalgic. It was like every few minutes, I'd remember a moment or feature about the game that I completely forgot about up until this point. Also, now that you point it out, I don't think I've seen you touch Asylum since the Halloween update. I feel like you used to play it so much, but since it's so much harder to find the ghost, I've kinda forgotten about it. So revisiting Asylum and Hoghschool were fun just on they're own! Haha

OMG I was just watching the promo vid for Phasmo on Steam and reminiscing about the old mechanics, and the unused things like dirty water as evidence for a spirit and cockroaches.
You can really feel how much more polished the game has become since then, it's fun to look back on the past but it really makes you appreciate what we have now

The ez loop mode was fun but it's a gem of the past. It would be hecka out of place in today's more polished versions.

You can do this through the steam console, and using a patch to disable updates. I do it to play older versions of beat saber that still support mods.

Things like this make a game really memorable and they hit the mark with Phasmo big time. I love playing and replaying the game and watching content with it, especially yours, Insym

Also i think they should add achievements to this game, like "Your worst Nightmare: Complete all maps on Nightmare diff.", "Amatour: Complete all maps on Amateur diff."

I've been playing Phasmo since day one. I definetly remember all of this, it brings back so many memories of old friends that i've met through my Phasmo journey.
the headcam light only worked when the night vision was actually on on cam. you'd have to do that to properly test it although I think iirc that one was introduced with the new camera models which also may have had a slight change to how the nightvision works in general.

I would love to do this, whilst I watched the game since release I couldn’t play it because money issues (back when I didn’t have my computer)
But this is so cool to watch because I love the older phas here and there
funnily enough, this version is what i remember the most. i played it a lot early on before my friend group stopped playing it.
I remember watching Venntex back in early Phas days playing solo and trying to always get hunts just sitting in hallways for 5 minutes or more waiting for sanity to go down.

I watched this on your vod channel, but man this patch is so nostalgic. It was like every few minutes, I'd remember a moment or feature about the game that I completely forgot about up until this point.
Also, now that you point it out, I don't think I've seen you touch Asylum since the Halloween update. I feel like you used to play it so much, but since it's so much harder to find the ghost, I've kinda forgotten about it. So revisiting Asylum and Hoghschool were fun just on they're own! Haha

I remember it being the way of showing the uv light into the fingies to take the picture accordingly, atleast that's how I remember it. Man this brings so many memories tho
it was awesome watching this, life was sooo different back when this game released and this video took me back, yea i can go back to ur old videos and rewatch them, but its different knowing all the knowledge of the game now and playing an old version as well. Id love to see more of OG phasmo once in a while!

last time i played the game was 2020 so when i started playing again 2 days ago it was basically me playing a new game i was really confused.
OMG I was just watching the promo vid for Phasmo on Steam and reminiscing about the old mechanics, and the unused things like dirty water as evidence for a spirit and cockroaches.
I know this is late, but it was absolutely adorable to watch you react to replaying the old version of Phas. Bean energy
i miss old phasmo it had many good things and some bad thing (no cards sadly and adding items one by one)
You can really feel how much more polished the game has become since then, it's fun to look back on the past but it really makes you appreciate what we have now
IDEA. they could just give us the old vodoo dolls in the lobby 🥺!! Like.. There we can fool around with them, but in the game/rounds it stays 'serious/scary'
