Facebook Marketplace Isn't Available To You | Why Does This Happen and How To Fix It?

- About a year ago, I opened a Facebook account for the exclusive purpose of using the Marketplace. I used it regularly through the Spring and Summer. The equipment I'm interested in takes a lull during the winter. While I do still occasionally look through the listings, I hadn't purchased anything from it in a few months.
As of a couple weeks ago, I have lost access to Marketplace with no explanation as to why and no way to refute it. The "support" pages, which are a total abomination, offer a small quantity of Q & A type blurbs regarding the product, including links at the bottom which lead to other pages, which ultimately direct you back to the original one. It's an endless cycle with no solution.
There is absolutely no way to contact any kind of customer service representative for Facebook that I can find unless it directly relates to the sale of an item or a specific transaction with a specific user, both of which are inapplicable to me as I have not sold anything on there. How a handful of prebaked problems and solutions are supposed to encompass all trouble an end user may encounter with the product to such a thorough degree that no customer service is needed is beyond me.
This is not an isolated problem -- there are countless complaints about this issue that can be found through a simple Google search. Several people I know have also had this happen within the last month.
Since this is an unsolvable problem that Facebook and/or Meta appear to have not a single iota of concern for, the only option I'm provided with is to stop using the product. I fail to see how that's a reasonable business model or satisfactory answer to any consumer, but that's what I've been presented with. It's unfortunate because Facebook Marketplace is the primary platform for purchasing larger used items locally. I had great success with it, while it worked.

Before all the inaccurate commentary starts flowing in regarding the age of the computer and operating system, these factors have nothing to do with the problem. I have attempted to access Facebook Marketplace on both a current version of Windows 11 as well as a mobile platform and get the same results.
Got to love it whenever you are having any issue, and people start jumping up and down and screaming about how you are using an old machine or old software and that is the cause of all of your issues.

@@OfficialxSimple yeah, I get it all the time. Earlier this week my internet went out, and after troubleshooting for an hour, came to the conclusion that it was the cable companies issue. I called them and they just said it was my modem (they really want you to rent their modem, and if you use your own they blame everything on that.) after a bunch of back and forth I gave up and figured I would give it another shot the next day. About 2 hours later I get a notification that the outage has been resolved. So that whole time they had an issue and knew about it, but still blamed my equipment with no basis for doing so.
I opened a Facebook account for marketplace as well in addition to the vintage TV groups. I had a different issue with marketplace, but thankfully it was resolved.

I use Facebook only AND ONLY for buying and selling stuff . You are probably the only person that understands me. I have been trying for months to get back there but I can´t find any solution.
But yeah, this is some crap and some shaddy shit going on in the background

This has unfortunately happened to me as well, and it is very frustrating. I’ve sent a report numerous times and still nothing!!
I really don't understand how this is deemed satisfactory.
This guy matches my enery cause its so dumb im a seller on marketplace and i tried to make a new account and only lasted me 2 or 3 months and then boom you're banned like what?
I had the same thing but eventually it sorted it self out I made a new account then one day like 3 months after it came back and I get happy it worked but now it happens again to my other account and it’s ridiculous to wait 3 months after this happens

This happened to me before a couple of months ago, and it somehow fixed itself, and now it's happening again. Idk how something like this is just overlooked 🤦♂️
I just regained access a few days ago. Facebook has enough of a monopoly that it can get away with ignoring issues like this, which isn't right.
Iv noticed this happening to a bunch of peoples accounts since last year. Iv had my Facebook account for over 10 years..iv yet to have this happen to me. So far, there hasn't been a resolution for this issue..

the same thing happened to me and this was the only place where I bought fans for my collection and that's where I got my nv 16 my marketplace is the same way
Not good.
This is like modern Google, but worse. Bad help articles, people getting locked out frequently, bossing people around, and somewhat not intuitive. (Although I must give them credit for some things)

After a few months, my access returned. I was never able to file any kind of request for support. As far as I know, there is no way to fix this other than wait and hope.

I’ve been banned since October 2023 fb sucks so bad
its an absolute joke, its happened to my account too now for a few months (i'd guess around 4 ish)
today i decided id had enough and tried fixing it but nothing has worked
edited the DOB on there and cleared the cache which managed to get a bugged page to load but nothing else. Ive submitted a report but i highly doubt theyll do anything let alone even read it. the only real workaround is creating a new account and using that but its a pain swapping between the two

that website is trash. my bookface account actually got banned for absolutely no reason. tried to create another, and they told me to use my real name...whatever.
It really is trash. The only reason I'm even trying to give it a second chance is because the Marketplace seems to be the best source for vintage items around here.

The only way and hope that Meta's team will see and act on is if their app reviews, and google reviews start going down at a major rate... Though, I don't see Meta doing anything no matter their reputation. They're a dictatorship.
Meta and Facebook need to be sued, this should be open for a legal actions or lawsuit

Mine has been doing that too, it really annoys me because I buy fans and other stuff off there all the time. Meta is just trying to lose users.
