    Practical points/clues from 40:
    - Options were created for hedging stocks (portfolios), but it has grown and become more liquid since, allowing the use of creative strategies (non-directional strategies).
    - Examples of non-directional strategies: The strangle and the straddle. Both use hedging, and prediction on volatility levels with little concern for price direction.
    - Volatility strategies requires enough study to be used safely. You must know what is the max posible risk for each hedge, what is the expected/required volatility to overcome the trading costs (premium and commissions), the time frames/instruments used and their intrinsic characteristics.
    - Selling options is usually more dangerous than buying them (first learn the directional setups). Part of reducing the risk when selling is offseting the premium costs by neutralizing the positions.
    - Bryan analyses the markets looking for opportunities during the thursday and friday sessions. Specifically, he is looking for hints that may foretell a buying opportunity that may become a "home-run" trade (a directional approach). He also mentions retracements, continuations, reading the tape and selling premium.
    - Not every trade will be a home-run, when in doubt, take half of your position.

This is glorious, I've been looking for "best option strategy ever pdf" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Winoorfa Option Olegroson - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my partner got excellent success with it.

This isn't an interview for novice option traders. It won't make sense if you don't have a decent level of option knowledge. I appreciated the perspective.

Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "options adjustment strategies" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Winoorfa Option Olegroson - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my co-worker got cool success with it.

a word of caution for those who listened to this interview: Buying options is like gambling and is mainly for poor people. Option selling (OTM) is like running a casino and is for rich people.
OTM options only have time value which decays fast in weekly or monthly options.
Buying options is very very risky and you will always lose in the long term. You might make 3x or 5x every once in a while but that is just the extra push you need to keep losing more and more.

Options trading is not like a casino at all... learn MACD, CCI, RSI and TTM’s and use on the underlying to determine movement of the option. Not too difficult. The hard part is taking emotion out of it.

    • @nobakwaas5161

@@TheInvestmentCircle Option buying is for highly skilled people since the position must become profitable within a short period of time...else losses are huge. I short options because they have a high probability of winning.

if you are ignorant, even if a CBOE market maker tells you how they make money from the implied vol, you wont be able to benefit and learn from it

yep Bryan weiner didn't really explain anything about his success as an option trader. What is his options strategy? what is his definition of success? what is his moment of clarity as a options trader?
